When we last left the perilous Sleepshy Rise, Elodie, daughter of the Grim Reaper, had survived some perilous makeouts just in time to overhear the dark and shocking confession of Timothy Crompton where he confessed to the awful sin of falling asleep on the job. Meanwhile, Annalee was desperately seeking a way back into the castle in order to fulfil one of the increasing numbers of mental compulsions that were placed upon her and the vampire Samuel was brooding ominously in his office.
