[indent]Dylan is sarcastic and introverted, their base instinct is to push people away to protect themselves. This manifests in increasing self-isolation, rudeness to those who try and break through to them, and sometimes obsessive behaviour. When they feel threatened, they lash out and can be viciously cruel. That said, Dylan can be quite sociable whilst holding their real feelings at a distance.


Beneath the apathetic front, Dylan has the capacity to be deeply caring. With people they feel comfortable with, they are open about their vulnerability. To this small group of people, Dylan can be overly protective and clingy and many of their relationships are unhealthily codependent. They're also quite intelligent and more than capable of doing well in class, despite the attitude of not caring that they project.[/indent]

[indent]By most counts, Dylan had a happy early childhood. Their parents were always around, they always got on well with their brothers, and they never had issues at school. It would be impossible to pinpoint when they first felt dysphoric, but the feelings became overwhelming when they started middle school. It was a difficult couple of years but they were lucky to have supportive parents and good healthcare. They came out and began transitioning at 13, choosing the name Dylan for themselves.


Dylan had been used to getting shit at school - the usual whispers behind their back and cruel words to their face. It never really bothered them. Not until one night during sophomore year. They were walking home when they were attacked and badly beaten by a group of seniors from their school. Dylan's previous self-confidence was shattered. For the first time in several years they began self-harming again. They spent the rest of sophomore year being home schooled before transferring to Rosefell High as a junior.


Junior year went by slowly. Dylan drifted from day to day, hard work replaced by disinterest and apathy, self-confidence replaced with doubt. They began drinking, heavily, and at Rosefell alcohol was never hard to come by. It was the perfect place for someone with a newly found self-destructive streak. They made acquaintances but never really opened up to anyone. By summer break their parents had seen enough. Dylan spent their summer in rehab, and returns for senior year determined for things to get better.[/indent]
