[i]Alki's looks mean everything to him. He hates that he can't have his makeup and leather jacket in captivity. He's learned to deal with it, but if he ever gets free he's raiding a convenient store. He knows how to slip out of trouble, and don't bet on him sacrificing himself for any noble cause or for someone else's benefit. In the Rehabilitation Camp it's every person for themselves. He thinks too hard, because there's everything to think about. So many problems with so many outcomes. Don't count on him explaining what he has in mind though, he can barely keep his thoughts straight. He prefers not to be bothered with other people's problems, because he doesn't want to think of his own.[/i]

[b][u]History:[/u][/b] [i]Alkibiades was conceived Athens, Greece when his mother, Iris Alessi, was working on a research project. She got knocked up by Dion Saunders, a British pretty boy touring Europe for the summer. He stuck around for a summer fling, then left when the wind changed. She tried to contact him when she found out she was pregnant, but he never got back to her. Alki was born when she got back stateside in Chicago. Iris was the daughter of rich socialites, but she hated everything about that life. History was her passion and ancient Greece was her favorite. She became a professor instead of living up to her parents expectations of marrying a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. When she announced her pregnancy and the circumstances the conception it was another reason for her parents to be disappointed, however they wanted to be part of their grandson's live with the hopes he'd turn out better than his mother. 

Alkibiades was named after Iris's most favorite ancient Greek politician. She said her boy was going to stand out and be different than everyone else. He was born with her hair color and eye color, but with the pretty boy's plump lips. However, Alki wasn't a healthy baby. His grandparents blamed his poor health on Iris for getting knocked up by some no named hoodlum. After he was born, his grandparents made sure he was seen to by the top pediatricians. He often caught colds and ear infections. He was sickly pale. Iris lamented he'd make it passed six months. She tried her best to keep it together, but she couldn't watch her waste away. It was too for her, so she let her parents handle his care and kept her distance during cold season when her students were prone to getting sick. With a grandchild, his grandparents forgot about Iris and promised to raise him right and healthy so he didn't turn out like his mother. He wasn't allowed out of the house most days, because anything could get him sick. If they had guests to the house they had to have a clean bill of health. Not even a cough was made it through the door. The older he got the healthier he became, but his grandparent didn't entertain the thought about him going to school and kept his tutors.

When he was ten Dion knocked on his grandparents door and introduced himself as Alki's father. They didn't believe it and turned him away, before contacting Iris about him turning up. They arranged to meet out of the house and Iris confirmed that Dion is Alki's father. Iris still had custody of her son and consented for him to meet Dion. Alki met his father and they clicked. He was sheltered all his life and Dion offered an opportunity to see the world. He took him to theme parks, rock concerts, tattoo parlors, and parties he shouldn't have been to. Alki picked up Dion's habits. He went from uptight button shirts, to leather jackets, eyeliners, and nail polish. His grandparents were horrified and tried to band Dion from seeing Alki, so Iris stepped in, moved Alki in with her, and sent him to public school. It was time for her to be a mother and try to curb Dion's influence. No more parties, concerts, or tattoo shops, but she didn't stop his self expression. She didn't care what he wore as long he stayed out of trouble and didn't get into things he had no business being in. Dion kind of listened, except on Alki's twelfth birthday when he took him to a friend to get a hellebore tattooed on his left hand, a tongue piercing, and his ears pierced. Iris was livid, kicked Dion out, and banned him from ever seeing Alki again. Alki knew there was nothing he could do about it. Running away to his father wouldn't solve anything. He'd get in more trouble and his grandparents had friends in high places, so he'd be caught eventually and his father charged with kidnapping. He withdrew into himself and the few friends he had in school stopped hearing from him.

Alki was thirteen when kids around the country started dying. Concerned, his mother took him to his grandparents' house and he was confined again. He hated it, but he was also afraid he'd die due to his weak constitution. So he stayed put, listened to his doctor when he came to see him every day, and read stories online about kids dying every day and a few gaining extraordinary abilities. He thought he was in the clear, until his mother complained of car trouble before she left for work one morning. He thought of all the ways his mother's car cause trouble. And not just a few possible car accidents, but everything from a fender bender to her car stalling on train tracks to getting T-boned on a bridge and spinning out into traffic below. He didn't think anything of it, just anxiety from confinement getting to him, then his grandfather caught a cold and he thought of all the viruses he could possibly have if he was misdiagnosed. He didn't tell anyone at first, then Dion paid him a visit via sneaking into his bedroom window in the middle of the night. He told him what's been going on with him, because he thought he could trust him and reassure him like he used to. The next morning he was taken away from his home and put on a bus to a Rehabilitation facility.
