I don't think Sam would be too fond of the fact that Alki doesn't really focus on anyone else but himself, but at the same time he'd understand why, what with his past and the situation they're in now. 
Sol would think he's pretty cool, and I imagine they'd probably get along pretty well, since it looks like they have a lot of common interests. 
Also, since my characters had rough childhoods they'd be very understanding towards his trust issues and anxiety, since Sam also struggles with that.

Getting irritated with Sam talking his ear off is understandable. Sam is pretty talkative XD
