How could someone do something so terrible? It was despicable. She shook her head and slowed to a halt so she could hold Kenia's hand and squeeze it. Her ex was one true son of a bitch. Cora couldn't imagine the pain that Kenia had endured. Next, Malachi's eyes teared, and Corvina could only assume he was remembering his own tragic past. What the hell was wrong with anyone, human or not, to cause such horrible suffering? She didn't understand it. She hook her head as Rei attempted a joke but his tone betrayed him. What a lot they were; all of them had sad backgrounds. She had let go of Kenia's hand to rub Rei's shoulder gently. It was a simple acknowledgement to his own grief. She didn't want to push anyone else to speak tonight. They all suffered enough in the past and had enough on their plate. Still, she'd make a point to be kinder to them the next day and hug them all the next morning. She sat on her bed as Rei aided her in sitting on her bed. Cora quickly went under the covers and kept her back against the wall. he turned her back so she could wipe her eyes. Once she had composed herself, she turned to face them again and kept the blanket up to her chin. She didn't want anyone worrying about her, but now she was too tense and worried about what might happen. "It's all right you two, please try not to beat yourselves up over it. It'll be okay. I love you guys." The words spilled out of her mouth before she could help it but let it go. She forced optimism into her voice and forced a faint smile. She couldn't bring herself to make a joke, though, but she wanted to look happy for the others. How much could one human take in this world? Their journey was wild. She wondered if any other humans were experiencing this much chaos. Cora pushed the thoughts out of her mind and began to hum soothingly to the others to try helping them relax. The tune was "Once Upon a December," from Earth. Anastasia had been one of her favorite movies and her comfort. Corvina stared at Rei apologetically once more and turned to stare guardedly at the doorway.
