Well I can't even attempt to get into the sciences behind it so you're probably right. Thankfully we've been gifted the wonderful fictional tech of Phalanx Cores that run these HELIX's in the first place. That'd most likely be more than enough power for a mag cannon. Also it has always been a sci-fi wet dream of mine. I play a tabletop game called Infinity that uses the 'HMC', and I just love it. As a matter of fact, I have a picture of mine painted on hand!
