Capoeira itself looks like a dance, with acrobatics and perfectly times strikes (Note: https://youtu.be/7qNs_pOc-Ek The man wearing the yellow and black pants in the first fight is using the Capoeria fighting style). ➽➽➽ Weaknesses- He has no ranged abilities to speak of. He cannot use a bow and does not know any magic. ➽➽➽ Loved Gifts- Ramen, melee weapons, compliments, and coins (he loves to collect coins) ➽➽➽ Liked Gifts- Salty foods, throwing knives, books, and flowers (especially blue ones) ➽➽➽ Disliked Gifts- Cake, ranged weapons, cards, and "junk" ➽➽➽ Hated Gifts- Spicy foods, Bows, and useless items ➽➽➽ Personality- Affable | Adventurous | Trusting | Self-loathing | Resentful (only to some) | Critical | Deryk has always been one for the people. He helps others, teaches others how to fight, and helps people build. That being said, some people may find his teaching methods to be, well, interesting. He is super critical when he teaches, but he never does it to bring down someone's self esteem. He is critical to help build them. When he says a criticism, he always shares steps to improve. Interestingly enough, he has heterochromnia, meaning that he has two different colored eyes. He does not remember how he got them. Most likely he was born like it or it was apart of his blessing/curse. ➽➽➽ History- Deryk, born Derician Eti, was a child of travelers. For his early life, he was apart of a caravan. One day, when he was about seven years old, he went into some wooded area to go retrieve a ball he threw too far. He never found his caravan again. Instead, he stumbled onto an old monastery, inhabited by monks who spoke a different language. They realized that Derician was a lost soul, so they took him into their monastic order. Slowly, but surely, he learned their language and became a fully fledged monk. Trust me, that sounds less cool than it actually was. All the Monks his age looked down on him and outright bullied him for being a traveler and an outsider. At age ten, when he became a monk, he duties were limited to meditating (which all monks did) and cleaning. Though at age thirteen, he discovered a hidden stash of books. these tomes were old and dusty, but were still legible. The books, in detail, showed the reader an old, forgotten style of martial arts, Capoeira. This martial art differed from the one taught in the monastery, one called Hung Ga. Hung Ga focused on hand to hand combat and punches. Capoeria was more centered around acrobatics, kicks, and manipulation of kinetic energy. Under the guise that he was "learning to dance", Derician learned Capoeira. At sixteen, Derician enrolled himself into a martial arts championship. The winner would be labeled the champion of the monastery. Needless to say, he won. This forced the monastery to accept him as who he was. It was shortly after the championship that Deryk got news that the lands were under assault by demonic forces. Knowing that he could not sit comfortably in the monastery while others were fighting in the name of the kingdom, he enrolled into the army. He quickly gained infamy as a skilled battle master. In underground fight pits, where soldiers went to have some fun and bet their earnings away, Derician was the undisputed master of the ring. They gave him the nickname Deryk, or ruler. One fateful night, a cloaked figure came into the ring and asked to fight Deryk. It was a close match, but Deryk finally won. The cloaked figure revealed (only to Deryk) as Orphea, a celestial. She asked to make a bond with Deryk, so that they could finally drive back the demons. Deryk agreed. And, well, the rest is history. [/hider]
