One year after that, her father was tragically killed in a car accident. That was probably the point it all went downhill, but it wasn't until Juliette was around thirteen that she realized how obsessive her mother was with living out her fantasies through her daughter. Whether it was coincidence or a need to please her mother at all costs, Juliette ended up taking up a lot of her mother's hobbies and interests. Fortunately, she fell in love with cheerleading, dedicating a majority of her life to it.

Years later, her mother fell in love with some British guy, and finally, Juliette was free to live her life. Well, not exactly, because she had the rug pulled out from under her after she was told that they'd be moving to London during her senior year. No amount of begging, crying, compromise, or shouting would change her mother's mind--after all, she was a dedicated new wife!--so with much reluctance, Juliette had everything packed up and shipped off to her new home.
