History: Before the virus spread Andrew had just been honorably discharged from the u.s. army. He had found work as an auto mechanic at his cousin's auto shop where anything from an oil change to a full custom job was bound to come through the door. He had 4 deployments under his belt one to Jordan, two to Iraq, and once to Afghanistan. Jody had gotten his wife some where between deployments 2 and 3 the divorce was hard on him but not as hard as the combat zones where he lost a lot of friends. After he transitioned back to civilian life he struggled to manage his PTSD and often times didn't sleep well. He continued to work for his cousin Adrian and was becoming a pretty outstanding mechanic, then one day the world took a nose dive. He was up to his elbows in grease rebuilding a transmission for a 20 year old dodge pick up that had lost all gears except 1st and reverse. He heard the emergency broadcast system come over the shops radio to caution the public to stay indoors that a new virus was beginning to spread and it had a 95% mortality rate. Andrew wasn't too concerned so he just kept working, later that day the radio turned to static as he was putting the transmission back into the old dodge. After finishing up he went over to the radio to do some channel surfing to find a working station, with a little surfing he was able to tune into an oldies station and Frank Sinatra was coming crystal clear through the speakers. Andrew began putting tools away as he cleaned up his work area, while doing this Andrew heard a woman's scream pierce the air on the quiet autumn day. He rushed to the bay door to see what the commotion was about and seen a man in rather expensive looking business suit who appeared to be attacking a young woman who couldn't have been older than sixteen. Andrew jumped into action immediately and ran to stop the attacker. The attacker had just pushed the young woman to the ground but she was tenacious and she was holding her own trying her best to keep the attacker from pinning her. Andrew approached from behind grabbed the attacker by the shoulders and spun him around Andrew immediately noticed two things. The first was that the mans right cheek was missing from the arch of his top lip all the way to his earlobe the blood in the wound was dark black and crimson but it was thick and congealed. The second was a large hole in the side of his neck that should have been fatal. Andrew drew back and delivered a solid punch into the bridge of the attackers nose he felt the bones break with the strike and the attacker went sprawling, only to get back up a moment later. "What the hell?" Andrew said aloud struggling to determine how his punch and the broken nose been shaken off so easily. Andrew grabbed the young woman's hand and hauled her to feet almost dragging her behind him, Andrew hit the emergency release for the overhead bay doors and they crashed down solidly securing the small garage.
