[color=gainsboro][sup][i]Lila was born to  Michael and Lora Jones after years of struggling with infertility. Their happiness was tested soon after Lila was born.  She was a colicky baby, always fussy. While she didn't fill their dream of a big happy family, she was a start and proof that they could have children. The years went by, and no more children came. So the two decided to focus their love, time and money on the one child they did have. 

They offered her every opportunity to explore her interests. She had the best music teachers, riding instructors and language tutors. While she was bright enough to find some success  in every area, there was never any passion behind it. Lila would quickly grow bored and move on to the next passion.  

Lila's relationship with her parents also grew more strained. Despite her parents best efforts, the three of them never really bonded. There were times growing up where she was close with one parent or another, but over-all their relationship was little more than icy.

Then, when she was twelve, her parents were blessed by a last ditch effort of modern medicine and came away with two adorable cherub twin girls. From there, Lila's relationships with her parents went from icy to straight up toxic. It was clear that the twins were the children of her parents dreams. They were bright, cheerful and almost never cried. 

Her mother stopped work to raise the twins and suddenly, the woman who wanted a large family was overwhelmed by the prospect  of three. Especially after one of the twins had manged to escape the baby gate and tumble down the marble staircase. It was a miracle the child survived at all. 

After that twelve year old Lila was bounced around from finishing school, to boarding school. From all-girls school to a STEM school. None of them seemed to be quite the right fit. Alexandria being her father's last ditch attempt to get his daughter to grow some roots before heading off to college.
