Some things remain the same: Kate Bishop is the daughter of the rich publishing magnate Derek Bishop, and she was an excellent archer. In this continuity, Kate was an Olympic athlete who was recruited into SHIELD for similar reasons Hawkeye would have been: immense skill and a desire to do good. A few major changes to Kate's backstory begin here: Her SHIELD codename is Huntress, she works with Mockingbird and Havok, and was trained by the Swordsman early in her SHIELD career. She has very little to do with this universe's Hawkeye (who is currently Wonder Woman's parole officer), instead forging her own path. This version of Kate is also meant to be well connected to the universe at large, and should be available for collaborations and guest appearances throughout a variety of stories. Kate's motivations are rather simple: she wants to help out the little guy. She knows that she is just a woman with a bow and arrow, but she is willing to fight with everything she's got to make sure the world is a safe place for everyone else to live in.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Jasper Sitwell: Kate Bishop's SHIELD handler. He is the one who recruited Kate Bishop, and gives her all of her mission assignments. Barbara "Bobbi" Morse: Better known as Mockingbird, she is a SHIELD agent who has been working alongside Kate Bishop throughout her career. She is a brilliant hand to hand combatant with heightened strength. Alexander "Alex" Summers: Codenamed Havok, the relatively fresh SHIELD agent is the younger brother of Professor Xavier's star pupil. He is more of a "one man wrecking crew" for when operations go all sorts of sideways. His handler is agent Morse. She is rumored to be tied to the Maggia, but her identity has yet to be revealed. Crossfire: Little is known about this famous assassin, besides the fact that he has managed to evade capture for the entirety of Bishop's SHIELD carrier and has the same scarily accurate aim as the master archer. Swordsman: The famous criminal Jaques Duquesne, better known as the Swordsman, was a former SHIELD agent who defected in search of fame and fortune. His last pupil before defecting formally was Kate Bishop, who has learned all she knows about close combat from the master duelist. He is rumored to be working with HYDRA.
