[color=BFAFB2] Upon receiving the invitation to Minagi's birthday party, both Alois and Cyrus had been elated to see their friend once again. It felt as though it'd been ages since they'd been to Hua'mu. Their kingdoms were allies, and yet, Hua'mu seemed so closed off even from those that wished to see them open their doors once more. Lately though, he'd been put in charge of making sure that Starch's new nobles were set up properly to rule their kingdom. After overthrowing their previous leader who had not ruled the country as he should, the new noble-people of Starch had a lot on their plate. 

Alois had returned to the palace to bathe and change his clothing for the masquerade only to be drenched from head to toe in water. The impact of the large waterballoon had knocked him from his feet in the process- leaving a huge puddle of water from both of the two Generals as they stood, fuming in the parlor. He knew it was Hanne; the prank was too childish to have been anyone else. By her age, both he and Cyrus were decorated Generals with heavy responsibilities, and while he understood that his siblings couldn't exactly follow the same footsteps, he wished that some of them would learn to grow up and act their age. It didn't help that her lady-in-waiting didn't keep her in line as their father had wanted her to. She seemed to go along with Hanne's childish pranks and behavior- even to the point of encouraging it sometimes. It was maddening to say the least. For now, he'd let her be while he and his sister went to change out of the soaked clothing.

Alois gazed out of the small window of the carriage. Hanne was lucky this time that they were in separate carriages or she might have to endure a lecture from both Cyrus and himself. “[color=1e90ff]Well, we both would have looked the part if Hanne hadn't decided to be a child. Honestly, at this point, she should act like an adult or she'll never find someone who will find her desirable. She's good at tinkering and making things, but her primary role is a princess; she represents our family just as much as we do, Cyrus,[/color]” He breathed out a sigh- brushing wayward platinum colored bangs from his forehead. “[color=1e90ff]I worry about our family. How we come off to the rest of the world- especially Hanne. I know she hates us- or at least it seems so, but I truly only want the best for her. I truly believed that if you and I took the brunt of the responsibilities, we could make it easier on our siblings, but I think we've just made them resent us.[/color]”

Perhaps they felt as though the two of them thought they couldn't do anything when the opposite was true. He and Cyrus wanted what was best to make their lives easier in hopes that they wouldn't have to work nearly as hard to please their people and their parents. “[color=1e90ff]Cyrus, let's just enjoy ourselves tonight. If you really want to lecture Hanne, wait until we get home to do it. For now, we'll be on our best behavior in light of the fact that it's our friend's birthday, and she would want us to enjoy it.[/color]” He knew that if it was his party, he would want to wait until all the celebrations were finished to do any sort of punishment seeking. That, and he hoped that this would be a bit of a wake-up-call for their younger siblings. 

Alois waited for Cyrus to get out of the carriage before he followed. Their porter grabbed their things, and went to put them away in their suite that Minagi always prepared for them when they visited. They'd be there at least a few days. He joined Cyrus and gave the well dressed women a gentle bow before brushing a kiss against their knuckles. Always the gentleman. “[color=1e90ff]We're both pleased with the opportunity to be here in Hua'mu for your party, Princess. I hope you and Asami have both been well. Your outfits are very becoming on you, if I may say so.[/color]” He stood up straight and produced two small boxes from the breast pocket of his suit jacket and handed one of each to the princesses before him. “[color=1e90ff]We know it isn't much, but please do accept these as gifts from your humble allies of Estrye.[/color]” Inside the boxes were hand crafted hair-pins. One was a fox and the other a koi fish given to Minagi and Asami respectfully. Both were painted in the oriental style of Hua-mu.
