[@hatakekuro] [sub][@Savo][/sub] Ace dove down, talons first, because talons for Fury Attack and beak for Peck makes sense, and started scratching at Cecil intensely! Cecil was not able to catch the first couple talons that came scratching at her in fury, making her take some damage, those are some seriously tiny arms on Darumakas… but then she got one! ‘Rufflet!’ Ace complained, and immediately scratched at her with his remaining talon (still Fury Attack). However, he also waved his wings to pull himself off her… and with that he managed to pull herself out of the hole! And then… time to roll. ‘Lift her! She can’t roll in the air!’ Rodger commanded. Now, Ace weights around a fourth of Cecil’s weight, and with that it became really, REALLY hard for Ace to try to lift her off the ground, but those fluttering wings sure tried to. So, once again with feet on the ground, Cecil took more Fury Attack swipes, but she’d recovered enough that she could start preparing for Rollout, and-! And que a very panicked screaming Rufflet being carried along a rolling Darumaka and getting run over multiple times by the red boulder-like being rolling across Kalmia’s lawn. And that… that did it. With the equivalent of being hit by multiple Rollouts a second, half a lap around the yard later and Ace was left more-or-less flattened on the ground while Cecil could stand up, more or less fine, but having taken heavy damage mainly from flailing Fury Attacks from a rather desperate bird. ‘Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuff…’ complained the downed bird. Basil was victorious! Basil earned 1000P for winning! Cecil grew to Level 6! Cecil learned Incinerate! ‘Ouch. Better luck next time, Ace,’ Rodger said with a twist of feeling his Pokémon’s pain in his expression as he held a Pokéball forward and called Ace back. He then looked to Basil with a bit of a smirk. ‘You were just lucky to have started with a super-effective move… but you got guts, Basil. I like that. I look forward to the day I can truly go all out against you. Then we’ll see who ends up on top!’ Rodger said, breaking out a bit of a grin at the end there. One way or another, Basil had at the very least earned himself a rematch one day. ‘Well, well, well. Haven’t you two been busy?’ Kalmia said with the biggest of smiles possible as she looked over the yard that Cecil had successfully torn apart rolling through. ‘I do hope the two of you are ready to help get this place back in order, right?’ she added, and just in time as if having completely predicted this Tim and Tom showed up grinning with one shovel each to offer to each of the combatants… Rodger’s going to chuckle a bit before taking the shovel and just getting this out of the way. Now, with that out of the way. ‘Seems like I lost. I’ll go get strong so that I can start winning already,’ Rodger told Jacques. ‘I’ll make you proud of me yet.’ ‘I’ll look forward to it. Good luck, Rodger,’ Jacques simply said, and that should about do it. Rodger was intending on going off to his bike and ride off into the eventual sunset… ‘In any case. Congratulations on winning your first battle! Now, let me just heal Cecil up…’ Kalmia said, and took out a Super Potion, because that should about do. ‘And then prepare you with the first little set of Pokéballs that I can supply you with…’ Basil obtained 5 Pokéballs! ‘And that should do! You’re now ready to embark on your journey! Do remember you can call me anytime through the Pokédex. Mine, as well as the numbers of all the trainers with the Pokédexes I’ve distributed, are already saved onto your Pokédex! Oh, and theirs will update with yours, so don’t worry, they can reach you, too,’ Kalmia told happily. ‘So! Any more questions?’ Kalmia asked, and that was about that. Basil can depart now if he wants to. Currently in Pureplain City. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon. In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city have always been plentifully attended, not counting the recent drop of embarking trainers due to the Team Wars. There are some sightings of Mesprit a bit of everywhere as it’s the only one that seems to enjoy showing itself occasionally, there’s the very rare sighting of Azelf predominantly around Lakewatch Town, and there is absolutely no sightings of Uxie reported because Uxie makes them forget they saw it. Overall, the three are harmless. Assuming you don’t attack them, they’re a peaceful bunch that just stay within their roles as guardians. They have very dangerous methods of neutralizing attackers, but it will only ever be targeted on such attackers, leaving them without memory, emotions or willpower, respectively,’ Dunstan told, sounding almost bored as he did. ‘They are called the Lake Guardians because they were originally said to have been guarding the Dragon Lake, which, yeah, all the sightings of both Mesprit and Azelf are centered on the lake itself. As far as we can tell, the ancient people that once lived around Dragon Lake basically worshipped them, and built architecture in their honour. Unfortunately, due to certain rules we’re not allowed to do further research on them. There’s this whole mythology about how they’re the ones keeping the creation trio in check, but that hardly concerns you. Does it?’ Dunstan asked, typing down something about a sighting of Uxie in his own notes on Uxie… Since Dawkin is quiet for now, guess that’ll do for a reply. If they escape for any reason. By some twist, the largest mineral deposits in the land is located right under the desert, making it an attractive place to build mines. From that, Raremine Town naturally sprung into being as a merchant town on the edge of habitability from where the mineral could then be delivered to the rest of Isson. The temperature is hot, sun blazing down on this land where plains slowly become desert, the atmosphere dry and unfriendly… yet, life and trees blossoms among the buildings of Raremine Town. The ground is still the grass from the Vast Plains, with buildings on top of them. The modern houses stand tall with plenty of architectural skill put into them, tools for building and living sold inside the houses. Everywhere, one can see workers walking about, but they’re happy workers, with their families living close at hand in the town and with the finest equipment available. Oh, and of course, plenty of Pokémon that assist with the finding of ores and such! The trees, which appear to have been planted and grown all over town by the residents themselves, gives plenty of homes for local Pokémon to live.

1. And with that, they were off to board the ferry! It was a standard little boat, the kind that mostly looked like an on-water buss with an inside with enough room for around eighty or so seated people with the roof and all plus an outdoors area where people could stand around and look out over the water. The underside was notably reinforced. The staff took their payment no questions asked, just another day at work for them, and as soon as they had waited long enough the ferry took off. The payment is for one “trainer”, as in one human and up to six of their Pokémon, because that’s how it works in the Pokémon world… assuming the Pokémon aren’t too big.

Route 14
You find yourself on top of the waters of Isson’s largest lake. While the mountainsides that surround it most assuredly makes it simple to see just how far away the different shores are around the lake, it is most assuredly not possible to see the far side of the shore. On calm days the waters are still, on windy days small waves roll across the surface. Every once in a while a ferry or a ship passes by, fishermen seeking the catch of the day or travellers making their way across from Highill Town, from Stillwood Village and from Lakewatch Town, to any of the three above. Few things actually inspire calm as much as this still lake… Or at least so it WOULD be, if it weren’t for the chaos just underneath the waters. You’ll always be told not to ride through Route 14 on a ship without reinforced bottom, for the sheer amount of Carvanha will tear it apart given the chance. This is also the reason why not to release weaker Water-Pokémon into the depths. Carvanha are generally more rarely seen by the the shores and towns, but out here? Here they’re the bread of the butter, the butter being Magikarps, which are everywhere. The two most common fish have secured their places. Who knows what might exist beneath this dangerous layer of piranhas? This lake is commonly referred to as Dragon Lake, however the dragons mainly inhabit a single area of raised islands surrounded by cliffs at the northern part. That’s the part that the common patrols of the Lakewatchers circle, day in and night out, just in case someone would like to attempt catching some of their precious dragons like they once did… but albeit the majority of dragons seems to live there, there’s nothing saying you can’t potentially find dragons anywhere in Route 14. They’re just exceedingly rare. The trip turned uneventful, other than saying hi to another ferry heading the other way and a large canoe with a number of Lakewatchers on, spying out over the waters and rowing around ever vigilant. They had a number of tourists in the back and a tour guide explaining things, probably heading in to potentially look at dragons. Vivia spent the time admiring the view with Venonat. And also, maybe asking Skylar some questions. ‘So, er, how did it talk to you? Just, like, Psychic powers, or?’ she asked curiously. ‘How was the inside of the cave? Was it more architecture, did it go deep? And, uh, do we have any idea of what it is we’d be using the countermeasure for?’ she said, probably with a somewhat of a whisper so that nobody overheard. No particular new birds could be seen. Though, the boat did float over numerous Magikarp and Carvanha… Pokédex Entry #129 – Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. While known for being extremely weak and washed away by even the weakest current, Magikarp can survive even in the most polluted of water. They’re incredibly fertile and have spread to waters all around the world. They jump fairly high, and older Magikarps are known to brave mountains with these jumps, seeking evolution. Pokédex Entry #318 – Carvanha, the Savage Pokémon. Territorial and vicious, they’re known to swarm and attack anything that enters their territory. Their strong jaws and sharp teeth are known to have the power to tear out boat hulls. However, when on its own, they turn extremely timid. No birds, though. Eventually, the ferry would approach a town in the south-west of Dragon Lake. A town that appeared to have been built on top of the water…

Lakewatch Town
As one looks upon Lakewatch, it is clear it was once built by the side of the water. Yet, over time, Dragon Lake has actually increased in volume, the water-level rising and swallowing the town. Then the natural conclusion would be to move the town back, follow the water-level, and rebuild at the new shore, right? That, does not appear to have been the thought that went through the minds of the designers of this Town, which is essentially placed out in the water on top of older buildings, the streets of the town flooded in water and to get around one has to make use of their many canoes or get on the back of a Pokémon. The town of Lakewatch rises fairly high for its size, and vegetation grows pretty freely around the buildings. Most buildings and streets have white floating cobblestone to walk on either side of the streets, with a river of water flowing in the middle. People here are highly accustomed to this, and the streets are constantly bustling with people heading back and forth, as well as people actually gliding down from the higher buildings from the roofs above using strange little paragliders. It appears people live in the higher floors, while business takes place on ground/water-level. There are canoes basically everywhere that anyone’s free to borrow, townspeople commonly jumping down on a canoe, using the force of the jump to drift it to the other side and then simply jump off. Now, anyone could hear from the name that Lakewatch Town is the town that basically rules the Dragon Lake. The Lakewatchers are a group of people that regularly patrol the waters, and become friends with the dragons that live there. Tours by the Lakewatchers are the primary tourist attraction of the place, along with the fish that is procured from the same lake, and guides are trained to show the way in any surrounding areas. Their boats are also those who trade with the western side through Highhill, keeping the place alive and busy. Plus, there’s always the rumors of treasure or otherwise hiding deep in Flooded Lakewatch, and Descent Tower looms in the middle of town for those hoping to explore… but who really knows? It’s a nice and different place, definitely. The ferry landed at the docks and let Skylar and Vivia loose… On the streets, the favoured Pokémon for getting around was definitely Quagsire, and there’s Woopers here and there just for hanging around. Pokédex Entry #195 – Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokémon. A very easy-going Pokémon, they swim about and don’t even mind if they bump their heads into things. When hunting, it simply opens its mouth and moves no muscles, waiting for prey to blunder in.
