Insanely old. So old that the empire he once ruled over is so buried in myth that nothing they say about it is true. It's actually kind of an insult. • Species: Immortal / Former-Human • Weapons:
- The Emperor's Right Hand: When an emperor dies, their soul is saved by the next emperor to create their 'Right Hand.' An adviser of sorts who exists to carry out the new emperor's will. Their soul eventually released to pass on to the afterlife once the new emperor is ready to rule alone. Unfortunately for Emperor Velo the 26th, his heir had no desire to ever release him from servitude. The Emperor's Right hand is a golem that rivals the greatest of any era, and perhaps greater. It stands roughly twelve feet tall, and is heavily armored to protect its only vulnerable part, the core with its irreplaceable soul. It's capabilities are primarily in combat, and other routine actions an emperor might need. This particular version has been modified to have weapons, something no previous Right Hand has ever used. The primary weapons are a fairly simple electrical claw that can discharge nearly lethal amounts of electrical energy into a target within a moment after contact. Other weapons include a flamethrower attachment, and a cable that can launch its fists at targets and then reel them back in. Other changes can be made as needed, though the more complex the change, the more time is required for Velo to make those changes. In the most dangerous of circumstances, it is possible for Emperor Velo the 27th to open up his Right Hand, and pilot it directly like a mech suit. - Imperial Drone x10: Simple drones that orbit around the emperor. They are all shaped like the empire's chosen animal, the eagle. They can unleash a taser-like arc of electricity from their talons, though nowhere near as strong as the charge that comes from the Right Hand. Sustained attack can knock out even a fierce enemy in the Abyss. Or serve as a distraction for Emperor Velo the 27th to high tail it out. - Command Gauntlet: A gauntlet that establishes control over the various constructs that Velo has created. If damaged or destroyed, all constructs go into a sleep mode, until the emperor can replace the gauntlet, or repair it.
• Species Traits: - Immortality: Emperor Velo is immortal. The kind that doesn't come with any kind of hang-ups. No 'I must drink the blood of the innocent' or 'I must perform a ritual.' He's immortal, and you can't kill him no matter how much you hack him apart. Cave his skull in, or splinter his bones into powder, and he will refuse to die. The main problem is that the process of undoing damage like this can take a day, and his body is no more durable than that of a typical human. As such, he's particularly vulnerable to typical methods of sealing up a human, like a dungeon, or a lot of heavy chains. • Special Abilities: - Magic Artifactory (Lost Technology): The empire of Vayron developed a unique knowledge of Magitech that is far superior to anything in the modern area. At its peak, the emperor commanded entire armies of loyal machines powered by his magical energy. These machines are forged in the depths of the Abyss, with regular constructs using the emperor's own magic, and superior constructs often requiring the soul of another denizen to power. The more powerful the soul, the more powerful the construct. All constructs he has made are listed under 'Weapons.' With enough souls, something as complex as a floating fortress can be constructed. Just takes a lot of time to get all the material. • Inventory: - Construct Forging Tools: Various simple tools designed to help the emperor create various constructs, or to make repairs. - Imperial Outfit: Still as pristine as the day he entered the Abyss. These garments are the robes of an emperor. At one time it was tradition for new clothing to be made for the emperor to wear daily, and old clothing would be sold on the market. As there is no more market, or tailors to make him a new outfit, Emperor Velo simply never removes his clothing, least he be forced to dispose of it. • Background: Emperor Velo the 27th was destined to be a great emperor. He ruled the land of Vayron, one of the old world's greatest empires. At its peak, it ruled a land that dwarfed all other contemporary nations. Its emperor sat on a throne that hovered in the air, and would radiate with the power of the sun overhead. He commanded fleets of ships that flew through the air, and castles would roam around the land devouring smaller lands. Gardens of trees and shrines to gods were common markers, and the land was a paradise on Earth. There was nothing the people or emperor did not need that wasn't accommodated for in spades. Except, this was all earthly pleasures, and Velo knew this. In fact, he knew it so well that he refused to give it up. He hated the very notion of there ever being an Emperor Velo the 28th to continue on after his death. Why should he? So, as the emperor, he began research into something the previous emperors had always avoided. A search... For immortality. But the search for such a thing would end only in tragedy. The knowledge that came to him in his research was cruel, and required a great deal of sacrifices. And so, he began to set in motion the greatest tragedy of the old empires. Seals were placed at the farthest edges of his land, and a temple was forged to channel the magically energy that would gather from all over the land. In a single day, the land of Vayron was wiped clean. All the people vanished, as their bodies burned up in the emperor's machine. Energy lanced down into his body, and when he stepped out of the chamber, he was alone. Immortal, and alone. Unable to ever die. But part of him did die. His empathy. He was no longer a part of humanity, but rather a monster in human flesh. His machines remained, and thus the king set forth on a cruel act of war against the world. But a single king, no matter how immortal is not invincible. Other nations rose up against him, and heroes of legendary status battled him. He was defeated soundly, and unable to die they were unsure what to do with him. The Abyss though, was always hungry, and an immortal meal would never pass away. That was where the emperor belonged. His body tossed into the depths, and his laughter echoed out. To this day, he is still trapped there. Despite his armies having long corroded into dust, and his kingdom built over a hundred times. • Other: The day the Abyss was no longer guarded happens to coincide with 'Emperor Day' a celebration of Vayron's emperors. As such, Emperor Velo considers this event a gift to him for his patience.
