In the town of San Junipero, an all female boarding school named [i]Arcadia Boarding School for Gifted Young Women[/i] has been the symbol of wealth and a well educated young woman. The school was originally a boarding school for wayward girls in the early 1900s, but was transformed in the late 70's as the population of San Junipero changed over time. It is now a school for girls gifted in math, science, and humanities to cultivate their talents- or at least, that's how the school markets itself outwardly. 

The truth is, Arcadia is a front to protect young Valkyries from those that seek to kill them and doom the planet. As the main cast is soon to learn as the spell that presents as a permanent fog that clouds their thoughts from magic events dissipates as they attend classes. When their powers suddenly manifests at the beginning of the school year, the six protagonists end up in hot water, and earn themselves a Saturday detention.
