[hr][i]Welcome to Araminta, Pennslyvania, a small city in the northernmost parts of the state. It's surrounded by miles upon miles of farmland, and it's stuck in between more important places. It has some tourist attractions, but the main thing that brings people in is that it's an idyllic suburban community. People move in for peace and quiet and a break from the big city life. However, something changed in the world that awakened a power that should have, by all means, remained asleep. Some call it magic, but others call it something more than magic. This means the rise of dreams, nightmares, and monsters made real. However, there is something deeply wrong in the town of Araminta. Somebody has prodded a power, some kind of force, that should not have been meddled with and strange things have begun. Portals into other worlds have appeared letting in monsters and strangers that have no place in this world. This has begun a whole new slew of problems linked to another world known as the Outside that is a twisted version of Araminta and inside of it lies the Witch, a being that seems to be the root of this. However, a group of Extra-Normal individuals has teamed up to stop the Witch.[/i][hr][/center]

Welcome to [b][color=black]Recollections: The Fourth Seal.[/color][/b] The first spin-off (and sort of sequel) to [B][URL=https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/175629-vivid-recollections-season-2-into-the-false-light-urban-fantasy-cosmic/ooc][color=black]Vivid Recollections[/color][/url][/b] and the second RP in the Recollections Universe. As the opening paragraph explained, it takes place in Araminta Pennslyvania, a nice quaint city that normally has nothing special. However, everything is not what it seems. The supernatural has touched this town and strange occurrences are appearing all over Araminta as the lines between normal and the supernatural become one and the same. The main focus of the RP will be a group of magical individuals known as Adepts, people who have an ancient supernatural connection passed down to them from a different world. They discovered their ability to use supernatural abilities through objects that they have a connection to and have been gathered by an individual who wants to save Araminta from an otherworldly force known as The Witch. It will not just be Adepts, but also other types of supernatural beings who want to stop the Witch.

This story will be an urban-fantasy story that will cast a certain light on "magic", while leaving it ambiguous whether or not it's truly magic or not. The storyline will have elements of superpowers, horror, and more - but the story will be a very dark cosmic horror story. The central theme of the RP will be [b]Family[/b], and their effects on the characters. Either the loss of a loved one or how far they're willing to go to protect them from the coming storm. Whatever the case, the cast's family will have a huge part of their character and development either in a positive or negative way. It will feature themes of exploring other worlds, and different versions of characters, but like Vivid Recollections, it's secondary themes will be[b] Memory[/b] and [b]Emotion.[/b]

[color=black][sup]⋗ 1 . 6 |[/sup][/color] This RP will strictly be "first come, first serve." Meaning I will not reserve any powers/character roles/etc, and they will go to whoever finishes their character sheet first. If there's a conflict over it, I will decide the outcome.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 1 . 7 |[/sup][/color] Character applications will go into the OOC (where we can work things out) until they are accepted. In other words, the character tab is for [i]accepted[/i] characters only. Also, do not "reserve" a spot in the Character Tab unless you were given permission to by me.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 2 . 2 |[/sup][/color] Let me say now; the story will be pretty slow-paced at times. I have a job and college, so I won't be able to post constantly. If a slower RP is good for you, then go for it.

If it's been a week since your last post, your character will be placed into the inactive section until they are written off (mostly by death). Once a character is inactive, however, they are officially an NPC and can be used freely by the GMs, or the players. Unless you give notice of your absence, then your character is off the table.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 2 . 4 |[/sup][/color] I am not a stickler for post length. I'd rather have a meaningful paragraph, over an essay full of filler. But, I request one paragraph.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 2 . 5 |[/sup][/color] This RP, at times, will get very dark. I plan for it to be a very mature, and down-to-earth Roleplay. There will be death, drinking, drugs, and tickle fingers.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 2 . 6 |[/sup][/color] Character death is a real possibility. By submitting a character, you understand that they have to take responsibility for their actions. They will not be bailed out by me and possibly get injured or die. I won't jeopardize the story for one character. They can also be killed by other characters. I won't go out of my way to kill off any character - that I like - but I may injure them for the sake of the story.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 1 |[/sup][/color] I expect some moderate detail when writing your character sheet. Remember, this RP is more grounded in realism, and I want each character to feel like a person. Try to give them a believable past, goals, personality, etc.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 2 |[/sup][/color] If your goal is to basically make the strongest/best character, and try to "win" the roleplay, let me stop you here and say you won't get far. This is a story, not a place for you to wank your OP self-insert. Nothing says "I'm a bad writer" to me than giving your character the strongest abilities (along with an asston of skills). I will not hesitate to ask you to change whatever I dislike about your character sheet.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 3 |[/sup][/color] If your character is a sociopath/psychopath, complete badass, perfect character, edgelord, then they're likely not going to get accepted.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 4 |[/sup][/color] You can create a character of any ethnicity, gender, sexuality, background, etc, within the bounds of realism of course. You can definitely get creative here.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 5 |[/sup][/color]  Following abilities are banned: Anything related to "power manipulation" (such as replication, removal, etc), Immortality, Gravity Manipulation, Magnetism, Matter Manipulation, "instant death" powers, reality-warping, anything with "Omni" attached to it, and complete defense/indestructibility.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 6 |[/sup][/color] I'm not placing a hard character limit, but I'm going to recommend you have no more than three characters. Afterward, you better bring something new to the table.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 7 |[/sup][/color] I suggest writing a description of your character's appearance to get everyone in that writing mood. If you must, you can use a picture. [u][b]Just no anime[/b][/u]. The pictures have to be of real people, or realistic art (but, let's shy away from A/B List Celebrities).

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 8 |[/sup][/color] When creating a character, try to be diverse. Look at the character sheets and try to fulfill a role that [i]no one[/i] has. No one wants a million street fighters, or nice girls. You can be pretty creative within the bounds of the lore.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 9 |[/sup][/color] Please refrain from tacking skills onto characters. Try to make everything feel natural to your character.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 10 |[/sup][/color] On the other hand, I'm going to be allowing more powerful abilities such as time manipulation, mind control/suggestion, memory manipulation, etc. There are limits in place to keep the playing field even, so keep that in mind.

[color=black][sup]⋗ 3 . 11 |[/sup][/color] Powers reflect some aspect of the character, so keep that in mind when creating one. I'm not asking for something super symbolic, but maybe something loosely related to your character.
