    [indent]Jalen grew up in rural Oregon, on the west coast of the US of A. He was always studious and outgoing enough. Played some sports through high school. Did all right. Ya know, typical high school life, ripe with laughter, drama, teenage angst, experimentation and heartbreaks. Through his connection with sports, and the fact that he was never good enough to play a collegiate level, he decided that he wants to study/do something that lets him stay connected to sports. When it came time to decided the school he was going to attend for college, he had a few choices. From in-state schools like Oregon State and the University of Oregon, to Washington State, to several other schools in California. Given the prestigious nature and potential connections he could make in and out of school, Jalen choose the University of Southern California. 

A few years past, Jalen is well on his way to earning his sport medicine degree. He had been accepted into USC's medical school, had some internships lined up later that summer, life looked good. Jalen decided to take a small vacation, for himself and since it would likely be the last one he takes for a while. Booking an impromptu flight taking him from SFO to SYD, Jalen happily packed his bags and boarded the flight.
