Oh and the other thing that can be more smoothly fixed with a reboot is the pideon-holing a few characters are suffering from, Astridh for example. I know Ellri wants to broaden her areas of expertise a bit.

Oh and something that has occured to me now is that perhaps the first mission should take place entirely aboard ship, that way everyone gets to know each toher and has to rely on each other beyond the normally very seperate groups the characters fall into.
