Had some fun conversations, the food was decent, and despite the uncomfortable conditions of the basement, he was feeling good. He loved his conversation with Lisa as well. It was nice to talk with someone in the medical field like himself, even if they were generations apart. Plus, she was a talker, much like Manny himself. Not that he minded people who weren't, but he enjoyed the conversation. Plus, if there is anything he has learned from being near youth, it was that a fresh perspective was very important. Sure, older ways of medicine were more reliable when resources were so limited that modern methods would be too risky, but there are reasons they are considered out dated. There are things that can be done before the outbreak , that if someone had proposed doing while he was still in school, they would have been laughed at, and then threatened to have their license suspended if they tried it. His best guess? Especially in times like these, get a good mix of both. Have a solid understanding of the basics, so when all else fails you can resort to it, but keep your methods up to date as often as possible. Manny was glad to hear that Lisa intended to stick with medical. Especially here where this field wasn't just a job. He had met so many people who had just joined the field to make a decent buck, not caring about how. Manny wasn't a fan of those people. He had hoped that once they got into the field they would see the good they were doing, and make that the focus. Sure, money was nice and helped, but he had trouble trusting a doctor who was just in it for the money. What he did find interesting was the Rube Goldberg trap. "Huh, I can see how that would be amusing. I hope you get the chance someday. Sad to say though that isn't an area of my expertise. But I am sure as the walkers get older, and easier to deal with, this place will relax more on rules for going outside. And you may get your chance." He wasn't sure of this. In fact, for all he knew the only time they would get to leave would be the rare chance like the funeral today, or if the walls were ever expanded. He hoped that wasn't the case, sure the logic made sense, but he didn't like the idea of spending the rest of his life behind walls. It was time to go back, so Manny finished his food, put away what needed to be put away, and promptly started going back to work. It seemed today though the two of them would be pulled to clean some boats, and be some messengers. Seemed like fun. "Alright, so we touch up here, we drop the papers off at Administration, and then we clean boats. Sounds like fun." He had no idea if it would be fun or not. BUT! He would try to have fun with it. "You think cleaning the boats will be particularly hard?" He asked Lisa while they finished up things at Medical. After they were done there, he would make sure to take the trip to Administration to drop off the papers. THEN! Off to the boats!! What she wasn't happy for was when Hunter got up and left, leaving her in the bedroom. The look of shock and awe on her face would have broken Hunter's heart. But, he had work to do. When he got outside he found himself confronted by a human. His first thought, "Oh shit I finally did it, someone's going to do me in". But seeing as He was still alive and she didn't seem hostile it was probably a sign of him over reacting. He was surprised about the plastic bag in his hand, and it finally clicked to him what was being said. "Oh... Sorry. Old... habits. Wont happen again." She seemed nice, and he realized that thinking he was about to bite a bullet probably wasn't the most appropriate response to being confronted by a person. But as Hunter would say, old habits. Hunter stood there holding his used bag of dog shit. Thankfully empty, but it was still gross. When she said something about play time for Izibel and some other dogs, it seemed nice enough. "Thanks. I'll try for it." He was supposed to meet Gunny today, sure it was hours before, but he had no idea what it was for. Maybe it was a new job assignment? Or maybe it was another complaint against him. The latter seemed more likely. Hunter went back and picked up the droppings, dropped them in the bin, and then went off back towards work. Between getting distracted in the mess hall, making the side trip to get back to his sweet doggie, getting distracted and having to go back and fix his mess up, he heard the Siren right as the building came into sight. "Fuck Buckets." Yeah he figured this was a shit show waiting to happen now. "Great, how was your first day of work Hunter? Oh it was great other Hunter I cleaned up a disaster of a human shit hole, got food, attempted a shitty apology because ignoring Nikki the whole day seemed like a bad idea, cleaned up doggy shit, then I got to be late for work! And I still get to go see one of the top people today! One who offered to shoot me at that! Wow that sounds great first Hunter. I know right other Hunter?" He spoke with a quiet tone, but with an exaggerated voice. He also spoke to calm himself. It was easier to think out loud, and helped him to realize how things were probably not as bad as they seemed. He took a breath, and tried to get over it. "Just... Fucking get over yourself you fucking neet." He spoke in his usual, emotionally suppressed, defeated tone. Calm, quiet, and ready to just get it over with. He wouldn't say it out loud, but he more or less figured if they were going to shoot him, they would have done it by now. Claimed he failed entry, and just bring him to nowhere and put a bullet in the back of his head. Hunter made his way into the building, no over confident demeanor had at times, nor showing his defeated mood. Finding Mizrahi Hunter got his attention. "Sorry I'm late... Won't happen again..." He said, shame in his voice. Hunter was man things, most of which were probably not great, but he wasn't a slacker. So being late hurt. "Safe to say that bathroom needs more work right?" All things considering, the bathroom job wasn't bad. Hunter dealt with few people, and the smell wasn't too bad. Sure, for a place that seemed so... clean stingy. It was horrid. But compared to sewer work, it wasn't bad. Though he figured this place would be better for a weeks worth of sewer work better then hunter was when he found himself trapped. The gas mask he had at the time was Supposed to stop smell. Supposed to being the key word. He wasn't sure if it was because the filters he had got were in his bag which got submerged, or if it was because they were older then the masks the army usually issued. He still had no idea how old the filters were, he wasn't sure the command of his unit knew either. He did remember thanking Uncle Sam for his preparedness for disaster situations as his faulty filters failed him one after another. He hoped whatever poor bastard that got stuck doing it here had better gear then he did back way back when.
