[indent]Emilia, or Emi to her close friends, would be the leading candidate for nicest person at Beverly Hills High. She was always willing to give to whatever club was raising money for whatever cause. She would join clubs that were short a member so they could form and have meetings, even if she had no idea what an anime was or why Kelly Slater needed an appreciation society. She had a smile for everyone and and her bright blonde hair was a welcome ray of sunshine into almost anyone's life. People were surprised when she started dating backup quarterback Brandon Mendoza in the middle of junior year, but they seemed to make each other even happier.

Which is why people were even more shocked when Brandon dumped Emilia at senior prom. The now-starting quarterback really took losing prom king hard, but there were rumors that Brandon had been fooling around behind Emilia's back. Watching someone else take the crown just gave Brandon a reason to end things. Emilia was devastated and she fled the prom shortly after. She showed up to receive her diploma but almost no one wanted to be the one to approach Little Miss Sunshine following the darkest day of her life. She spent the rest of the month locked away in her room, not wanting to engage with anyone or anything. The pain was too real. It took an olive branch from a friend to even get her to consider leaving, but now, getting out of California seemed like a good idea.

[indent] Niklas Seger was a second-line center with the Minnesota Wild and attracted the eye of Caroline Sandstrom during a charity event in 2000. Nine months after they were married in a lovely July ceremony, Emilia was born April 21st, 2002, in Minneapolis. Emilia's time in Minnesota was cold, but happy. Her father doted heavily on her and would revel in taking Emilia to the rink to show off to all the team and the employees, although sometimes a little to close to the action for Caroline's liking. She started skating at a young age, and spent a lot of time under the watchful eye of her grandmother Hedvig, who would often take her grandchild out for activities at the school where she taught in Apple Valley. Emilia was encouraged to explore many different pursuits, and she did just that.

When Niklas was traded from the Wild to the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, he brought his family with him to sunny California, knowing his long-term future was secure after signing a seven-year contract with the club upon arrival. Hedvig retired from teaching to move with the family into a new home in Brentwood Park. A life of sun, sand and no more mittens suited Emilia, as it seemed like her body soaked in the glow and embodied the warm feelings that they gave out. She continued to do very well in school with her grandmother's help, and it seemed like high school wouldn't be much of a problem.
