[@Yam I Am] I think that may be part of the reason why the Skekarii don't really desire much expansion, it'd bring too much conflict and make their realm harder to defend if they don't know the territory as well, though the majority of the population is on the western coast beneath the mountains. It might also be part of the reason why the queen is amping up diplomacy efforts. 

I think the other thing to note here is that the Skekarii are only supporters of the crown out of fear for their own vassals, breaking free by rebellion is bad but if another way to get free can be found, they might be more favourable to getting rid of the Akron.
