[indent]Equal parts enigmatic and magnetic. Many people know of Chloé, between her successful social media presence and the success of her parents in the fashion and entertainment/hospitality industries, she wasn't someone who often went [i]unnoticed[/i]. 

So it was only a matter of time until the "It girl" label fell into Chloé's lap. What once was a studious girl who struggled under the burden of her parent's expectations with upkeeping perfect grades, being the star at her piano recitals and landing every center position in her dance teams, blossomed in High School. Still, among the top students in academics, she switched piano recitals for street racing and dance team competitions for "who can throw the best back to school summer party" competitions. For every story she posted at the "track" or a rager there was another of her riding the waves in Hawaii or on the back of an elephant in Bali. 

Despite very publicly showing off her life, Chloé had perfected the art of keeping most people at a friendly distance. Conversations with her tended to focus on the other person, most people had never met or seen her parents outside their appearance in magazines and on tv, and many people that would claim to be Chloé's friend couldn't tell you anything about her that her loyal followers didn't already know. This part of Chloé, the part of not knowing her despite all the parties, the day trips to vegas, the late-night walks along the beach, was the part that seemed to intrigue people the most, because seriously, [i]who was she?[/i]

Then there was the group of gearheads and misfits, a jumble of personalities that somehow seemed to work out well together, always in the background of her wildest party videos, bumming it out in her lazy travel days and sharing laughs with her over in-n-out burgers. [indent] When international supermodel Lían Zhang traveled to France for Paris Fashion Week she hadn’t expected to fall in love with a devilishly handsome french businessman. The tabloids say it was love at first site and maybe it was, but a romance created in a passionate moments of a one night stand would sizzle out over the years.

The couple traveled the world together between their commitments to their work. They got married in Venice, announced their pregnancy in Morocco and brought their beautiful baby girl into the world in Singapore. Though they hadn’t accounted for the pause on their life having a child would bring.

They relocated to Paris, a hub of fashion and the headquarters of Raphael’s rapidly growing business. The summer before her freshman year in high school brough the "family" to West Coast, where they nestled in the heart of the rich and the famous in Los Angeles County. For comfort Lìan Zhang had talked her mother into moving with them, to live comfortably in their large house and watching her only grandchild grow into a beautiful woman.

Chloé saw her grandmother more than her parents as she got older. Their icy distance between each other had them spending time in other states and countries flying home on whims only for the seldom holiday and to celebrate her birthdays, though once she got into high school assistants and mail carriers brought her cards and gifts in place of her parents. Chris and I always have a great time together… seriously! Ever since I embarrassed myself at the “track” by interrupting him to ask for his number I swear we’ve been hanging out more and more as time goes on. I mean… when grandma found out I had an [i]asian[/i] friend, not even Chinese, but [i]asian[/i] she was relentless about me bringing him over. I tried to hold out for as long as possible, for both of our sanity, but what that old woman wants she always gets.

Soon enough I think I was spending time eating dinner with Chris than I was riding Aleks… and let me tell you, that’s [i]a lot[/i] of time. But you know it’s been fun… even through all the wedding planning and gossiping Nai nai and Angela get up to. That whole prom fiasco and then the senior video… big yikes. I wasn’t really friends with her at any point, but girls gotta stick together, especially with all these unsavory men hanging around. We have mutual friends, through Josie and Ava so I reached out the weekend before we walked and I was surprised she was eager to hang out with me.

I don’t think I’ve met someone who cries as much as her, but everyone deals with loss in different ways and Brandon was a piece of shit so I let her just cry it out when it started. The rest of our day was actually really nice, I think she’s the nicest, most innocent person I’ve met and that’s refreshing in itself.

Who knew Ivy was the new way to spell “my better half”?

Some people say you can have more than one soulmate in any given life, and if that’s the truth of the universe, then Ivy is definitely that to me. I’ve only known her for a short time but the first time we met there was just an immediate feeling of [i]comfort?[/i] I’m not sure if that’s the right word but that’s definitely how I feel about her now. I trust Ivy with my life, and I think even more importantly with my feelings, she’s really the only person I’m completely open with and I think one of the only people that has seen me really angry or cry(I know, SHOCKING).

I don’t really think of her as a friend, she’s family, my sister. Even Nainai calls her [abbr=daughter]Nǚ'ér[/abbr], I hear her bragging about Ivy to her friends back in Shanghai and Tanjong Pagar and I swear she’s been practicing English more so she can communicate better with her. I know the whole thing between AJ and uh... his ex, kind of extended [i]waaay[/i] past them, but what else would you expect from to drama queens?

None of that had to do with me, or Katie, so it didn't affect what got goin' on!

We met in Sophomore year and she definitely did not like me, she wasn't ever rude but I could just [i]feel[/i] it, you get me? I was fine with it though, Katie was a hard worker and opinionated as hell so she kept class interesting for me... have you ever heard her arguing with someone? It's great, lol.

Things turned around for us when she came to me for help. Let me repeat that. [b] Katie came to me for help[/b], I mean it [i]was[/i] for beauty and fashion tips, and I'm not an Influencer for nothing, but I was still surprised. Shopping with her and helping her feel pretty in her own skin was such a fun experience, she's [i]gorg[/i] so it was super easy, but that kind of kicked off our friendship!

We hang quite often, we have mutual friends and go out on adventures in and out of town together, but we don't really hang one on one. But maybe after this road trip we'll be able to change that! 

If AJ doesn't kill us all for knowing she's coming along for the ride.

He’s my favorite jock, seriously. I can’t stand the whole bravado, chest beating, hyper masculine types. I feel my brain cells rot when I talk to them, and completely was expecting the same when I first had class with Leon, but was pleasantly surprised when I actually talked to him.

His work ethic is crazy, any chance a group project was assigned and we had class together I was jumping to be his partner. Of course our frequent partnering and resulting lots of time spent outside of school together some rumors circulated. I mean I’m not blind, Leon is definitely a looker, and his stupid cute smile still gets me to swoon a little, but we have our eyes set elsewhere.

Maybe if he had been in my first period in freshman year things would have been different. Buuuut things are great for us now so you won’t catch me complaining!

Except I’m still waiting for Leon to ask me to model for him, I want to be drawn like one of his favorite French Girls. Since I’m actually the only real french girl he knows.

He’s such a sweetheart!!! Definitely the type of boy your mother wants to bring home... well most mothers. My grandma wants me to bring home Chris but she’s old and a little crazy.

Nate and I have shared photography class since sophomore year, it’s been unplanned but it’s been a blast! I’m surprised he hasn’t dropped out to be some crazy rich fashion photographer or something, because he’s [i]talented[/i]. The way he captures his subjects is always so breathtaking, I think my confidence boost from Freshman year to Sophomore year had a little to do with the pictures Nate took of me for the class.

Do you think I could pay him to just follow me around and take pictures of me all day? Is that narcissistic? I mean it’d probably require a lot of money considering he’s been heavy avoiding me lately. Ever since that little make out at my party he’s been hiding, but still spends time with Aleks! What kind of shit is that???

Reyna is cool people. Like Ava she got my respect and recognition from living her best life and being herself without compromise. I wouldn’t count her on the level of thottery as Ava or I, but I’m not into gatekeeping the thots. In my mind the more the merrier!

Sami is a great guy, he’s super genuine and from what I’ve seen takes people at face value. Beverly Hills is a messy place, if you haven’t noticed already. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sami really pay any mind to all the stuff getting thrown about people or their parents.

That’s really admirable.

Going on hikes with him really feels like a spiritual journey. He has this really intense and deep aura surrounding him that’s hard to decipher, but it’s warm and you can tell that he’s good people. I wouldn’t say we’re super close, I think I’ve blabbed once or twice while intoxicated about my feelings but he’s never repeated what I’ve said, not even to me, and has only ever treated me like a friendly face.

I like him and I’d like to get to know him better!

Just kidding, I don’t think it’s possible to be friends with any of the misfits, AJ or Chris, even Ivy and not know of Val. That’s really all I have to go off of, is stories from other people and observations from afar.

We don’t talk, at all, in fact I’ve noticed if I enter the same room as her she’s out within five minutes. I think it’d be easier to be petty towards girls like her but I try not to take anything personal and I’ve been more mindful of our proximity. If I make her uncomfortable then I think that’s the least I can do, she shouldn’t have to be the one always leaving a room or something to feel comfy!

I hope this road trip brings us chances to interact, given all the good things Ivy says about her I think we’d actually get along pretty well! Plus have you seen how cute she is? I low key have this urge to pinch her cheeks like an annoying auntie but she’d probably hate that and we definitely aren’t anywhere near that level yet... but fingers crossed!
