Just breathe. It's all going to be okay. AJ groaned and held his head in his hands. It was not going to be okay. It was the first day of the new year and he'd already been screwed over by his mother. First, when he had tried to explore the area, she had pestered him over and over again to stake it as his own. Next, when he'd tried to say hi to some female students, she had proclaimed that he was the best man they'd ever lay eyes upon. It would have been bad enough if they'd walked off, but they hadn't! The girls had crowded around him telling him that it would be okay, that the first day was always hard, that he'd soon love the place like home, and that his wonderful tiny summoned creature was oh-so-cute. That was right. His wonderful, tiny mom. AJ had inscribed a summoning circle on the back of his left hand when he was eight- a stroke of original genius. He would be able to summon creatures anywhere without having to draw the full ritual! Just his luck that his mother would be able to pop out of it at any time. Not at full size, no, but as a tiny miniature sex idol attached literally to him by the wrist. He'd explained her presence as a magical experiment, then ran off, embarrassed. Luckily, he'd located some bandages and managed to wrap his left hand, which had cut the connection. It was his stupid aura. The one he'd inherited from his mother- but instead of making him more desirable to those around him, it just made them treat him like a small child that needed to be protected. He'd never been able to turn it off. Now it was ruining his new school life. He made his way to the welcoming party and brightened up. It wasn't that bad at all! He'd been expecting a table stocked with watered-down lemonade and stale bread. Instead, there were treats and some actual drinks. As he entered the room, he remembered his mother's words. "Ahem," he squeaked. "I, AJ Underfoot, proclaim that all..." Nobody bade him a second glance. AJ blushed, then took a deep breath. That was okay. If nobody had noticed him, then he could try again. As he mustered up the courage to properly command those present to bend to his will, one of the students nearby began to choke on his food. He rushed over and delivered a smack to the student's back with all the force he could muster. His hand bounced back, aching slightly. "Are you okay? Do you need help? He asked.
