A preliminary poll to see if there is demand for this type of story, before I put any hard work into it. I've GM'ed several games now, most of which take place in the same universe, and I'm looking for a fresh take. My favorite thing in movies/stories/shows is not when you have a Good Guy vs a Bad Guy. It's boring, expected and has been done to death. My FAVORITE thing is when you have a Bad Guy and are forced to send in a Worse Guy to take that person on. That's the concept of this RP proposal. Supernatural/superhuman elements will be a must in order to keep my interest so it is safe to say that players would be able to create a despicable person with an extraordinary ability that will be forced to go up against an evil archetype that rivals their own sin, if not overshadowing it completely. As mentioned earlier, this is a very early "anyone interested?' stage, so I have done nothing yet in terms of constructing a story or a world, but the concept will be that all the players are controlling deranged characters that society has grown to fear and are forced to go up against an entity that is presumed even worse. If we're doing this right then on Day 1, you'll have 5-8 characters who have joined the RP that you, the player, find yourself unable to trust. If done right, these characters will make you feel uneasy, uncomfortable. The more people that get accepted, the more nervous the players should be. As an extra bit of tension, I'm also considering the allowance of pvp character death (that is carefully regulated). Other players will technically be on your team, but if you put a mass murderer and a wanton arsonist in a room together then you shouldn't be surprised if things go awry. Part of this game will be telling a story. The other part will be surviving the game from the enemies outside AND the enemies within. The overall goal is for a very tense, untrusting playthrough with a group of characters that make the reader uncomfortable and oddly excited as they read the story that we weave. If you're not up to that sort of thing, no worries. If you think you are, though, then I'd love to hear that you're interested. If there is enough demand, I'll flesh it out. Let me know if this could be worth my time and yours.
