Going down the dark alleyways, Vani made certain to double check where he was going in case he ran into a dead end. From the way the creeps here were sizing him up, he knew they had no good intentions. After all, he couldn't blame them; Some tall, dark, and handsome guy in clean looking armor strolls into a ruin that looks worse than a sewer in places? Probably an excellent target for a mugging. Thankfully, Vani was terrible with money, so the few coppers clinking together quietly in his coinpurse were...

...Wait, where was his coin purse!?

Lamenting the fact that whatever money he had got nicked was the least of Vani's worries as the violence broke out. The Paladin was quick to back off from the fighting, only to be knocked down by a fireball going off a fair distance away from his position, knocking the paladin prone, face landing right in a puddle.

[color=FFDEAD][i]"Gods dammit all...first I get pickpocketed, now this!? What idiot went and picked a fight with the EMPIRE? Gaaaah, now they're gonna butcher all of us! Dammit, Dammit, Dammit, Dammit...well, if they wanna pick a fight, I'm not going down easy!"[/i][/color] The elf's thoughts were devoted to survival hereafter, rising and beginning his charge towards the fighting to try and break through...only to find a fighter barreling over his head, tossed down the street like a ragdoll. Looking in awe at the massive outlier amongst the generally human soldiers and mercenaries, Vani would grin at Kaze, watching him cut himself a clean path out. Raising his shield, Vani would hurry to try and join into that open space, bashing aside a few imperial soldiers that tried to make a dash to the mercenaries on the other side. Coming up on Kaze's flank, Vani would remember...

This guy was scary strong. Strong enough to fling a man down a street in full plate. As such, Vani would figure that giving him fair warning was a good idea...that, and, he wanted to keep his head on his shoulders.

[color=FFDEAD][b]"HEY! Big, tall, and scaly! You and me, let's cut on through! My shield, and your skill, we'll split that reward right down the middle!"[/b][/color] Vani would call out, hoping that the Lizardman was receptive to the idea of working together...and not so open to the idea of betraying as soon as the job was done. 

Seeing an opportunity to prove that he would make a good partner, Vani would intercept an imperial fighter with a mace that was approaching Kaze, delivering a swift kick to the stomach before following with a lunge, striking right through the Imperial's heart before chasing after his (hopeful) partner in crime.

[color=FFDEAD][b]"OUT OF MY WAY!"[/b][/color] Vani would shout, raising his shield before it became coated in lightning, the paladin charging to try and make a path forward by blasting some poor unfortunate imperial soldier that over-stepped his boundaries, sending him flying into a building with a thundering [i][b]BOOM[/b][/i] as the lightning discharged.
