No, first he thought that for all the cleaning Thalia and he had gotten done that morning, the ceiling was still a dirty surface. Cobwebs and several unidentified stains was visible in the light from the lightbulb, making Alexander think to search the cleaning cabinet for a ladder later on. Then the lightbulb began to irritate his eyes, being too bright for him to keep looking at without going blind. Wouldn't that be just peachy? Old, one-legged and blind? Then the pain kicked in the man-box of ridiculous concerns about the basement harder than the sail against your head in a storm - been there, done that. Slowly Alexander continued his breathing that he'd just gotten back, tensing his body in response. It hurt like a bitch, not as much as a gunshot to the thigh or getting your own leg chopped off, but enough for Alexander to lay still and just breath. Thankfully Thalia was an Angel true to her name and rushed over to him, giving him a good look like a proper medic would and telling him she would get some help. At first Alexander just nodded through heavy, concentrated breaths as he heard her jog out and upstairs, though one phrase penetrated his pained shell. "My…leg…what?" Thalia had told him to remain still as much as possible, but the strange string of words rebuked Thalia's orders. Alexander tried to steady himself with his arms, rolling over to the side to peer at what Thalia had said about his leg. Sure enough, lying at his side was his trusted peg-leg. With a puzzled look of utter confusion on his face, Alexander then attempted to peer over his own belly at where the leg was supposed to be attached. None. Only one and a half leg remained below Alexander's belt. "What the…Must've fucked up harder than I thought…Jackson's going to kill me" was Alexander's only comment on the absurdity of the situation, half dazed and wrongly connecting his misstep with a certain sergeant from his youth.. The leg was supposed to be attached to his stump by suction, like a plunger…The only thing Alexander was left to do on his own was to slowly and carefully reach for his prostethic leg, sit up straight and put the leg back where it was supposed to stick. Still dizzy from the fall he wouldn't get it completely attached, but at least he'd get his stump in the right spot for it to be sucked on later. "Lord…forgive me for this bullshit, but was that really neccecary?" ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[row][/row][row][cell]
Nigel Cooper
Location: Hydroponic Gardens (T) -> Underwater Garden (U) Skills: N/A [/cell][cell] [/cell][/row]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Growing freshwater plants in salt water? Nigel's mind was surely in the process of blowing up if Thana continued at this rate. The Roman teacher blinked as the realization dawned on him of what Thana the Green-Fingered had just told him. Any plebian or great philosopher would have taken the mere thought of growing things in salt water with…well, a grain of salt, but nothing about Thana told Nigel that she was bullshitting him. Any really it made sense for then to cut down their water consumption any way they could, perhaps why he had been asked about aquaducts earlier. Nigel, with his bag in hand and keen ears on point to learn from this wise woman, someone worthy of being an Oracle in the distant past, followed Thana towards the beach. He noticed her smirk and witty retort, giving himself a chuckle and a smile, even if his social skills still were crude like a worn-out sword. "As far as I know, I'm as less a fish as you are a real sparrow, so I'll keep it it." He attemped at a joke back at her, following her down to the pier and letting her unlocking their next field of work. The smell of the sea was much stronger out here, thankfully nothing alike the stench of filth and the wastes of the living from earlier. Thana wasn't wrong when she said it was slippery, as Nigel had one or two encounters where he almost lost his footing, though he remained tall as the Collossus for the moment as he stepped under the pier itself. "Really now? This is almost too much for a new member of civilisation to take in all at once. First the garden, then your work and now this? You're a true Muse of Poseidon. Natura valde simplex est et sibi consona" Nigel complimented his superior, holding onto the same chain as he moved further down the sea washed walkway, sea water cooling his sweaty feet like only Nature could. "Almost puts my thesis on the evolution of Roman military ethos to shame. Still, glad I learned how to smith and wield a sword, so can't have been completely wasted, can it?" Nigel wasn't going to question Thana telling him to do as her, and put down his own bag and anchored himself like she had. Like she said he took his time, both the unfamiliarity of the wet suit and his proximity to the sea slowing him somewhat. Her pointing out her weakened leg hammered through the need for him doing this job right helped. Following her lead and wetting the mask before donning that and the snorkle, he carefully got in the water himself. Head under the water, Nigel was once again amazed by what he saw. Words really couldn't describe the sight in front of him except "Atlantis". Plants grew out of boxes, tubes and cups, places they really shouldn't be considering this was underwater. Nigel looked for a few moments more before he resurfaced, grinning wide to Thana. "If my mom and dad had heard about anything like this, they wouldn't have believed it. I can perhaps get used to working here from time to time, if time allows it."
