Annie moved her eyes from side to side and let the blind go as the two detectives left her home. She was alone, but something wasn't sitting right with her. Frowning she flicked on the TV to let some background noise play, just so she wouldn't feel so alone. It was the news channel and they were talking about...stuff. "Okay, Doug. I think I am going to stay home after all. I just need a break. Today was too much." She spoke to her dog. It was a habit of hers to talk to her dog when she was alone. Helped her verbalize and collected her thoughts. "I need a snack. Maybe some yogurt, or something." Opening the fridge she fetched her snack and popped it open, beginning to scoop up the viscious pink food that tasted of fruit with a shiny metal spoon. Sitting on the kitchen table she looked through the window at the backyard. She had to mow it soon, she thought. Annie did chores around the house, of course. It was the least she could do considering her parents were continuing to let her stay at home rent free. She was blessed enough to live with a well off family. Money didn't give one happiness but she would rather be well off and unhappy then poor and unhappy. Like those kids who don't even have a home to feel safe in, or one to return to at all. She still had to call the Child Protective Services for- Her phone was ringing in her backpocket. Leaning to the side she grabbed her pink-covered phone in her hand. It was Willow! Annie tapped the green answer button with her thumb and held it up to her ear. "Huhllo!" She answered enthusiastically, the yogurt in her mouth muffling her voice somewhat.
