[b]Personality:[/b]
[sub] With his penchant to smile more often than not as well as his inability to let people suffer more than necessary, most would describe Brennen as a kind, good-hearted young man. His friendly disposition is only aided by his desire to help people, though his habit of butting into other people's business may come off as nosy or rude at times. He is also very concerned with the wellbeing of pokemon, almost the point of obsession. Those who know him well enough usually assume its part and parcel to being related to the Joy family.

Despite his happy demeanor, Brennen is self-conscious about his lack of experience. While most people had gotten their first pokemon around the age of ten, the greenette hadn't done so until recently.[/sub]

[b]History:[/b]
[sub]Raised in Agate Village by his grandparents, an ornery old fisherman and a retired Nurse Joy,  Brennen spent most of his early childhood playing with the few other children, being watched over by his Grandmother's Chansey, and learning how to care for pokemon. While many children would love to be raised in such an environment as he did, many would have found the countless hours spent learning how to identify the difference between the bites of an Arbok vs that of an Ekans. Brennen however, found these subjects fascinating and only ever wanted to know more. This desire to learn about medicine and care for Pokemon did not sit well with his grandfather, however, who insisted that nursing sick pokemon back to help was "Women's work" and that he had never heard or met a male nurse Joy. 

While the boy had tried to ignore what his grandfather told him, he couldn't help but notice that it was true. It didn't help that despite having the signature strawberry blonde, seemingly pink, hair of the Joy family he didn't really resemble them. Features just too distinct. In spite of that though, Brennen continued to study what his grandmother would teach him, though his grandfather continued to belittle him to the point of even denying him the chance to receive a Pokemon along with the other children until he "Man UP and decided to challenge gyms like the other boys." 

This behavior continued for years until he had had enough and decided to just do as his grandfather said and go after gym badges and face the colosseum. It wasn't long after that a storm hit the village, felling some of the surrounding trees and tearing up some of the foliage that surrounds the village. Aiding with the clean-up, as he was wont to do, Brenned discovered a small young colt with some minor injuries to the neck. It took a while to gain the young pokemon's trust but he managed and upon closer inspection, the blond discovered that the marks were caused by a collar and the poor thing showed signs of abuse. Brennen spent nearly two weeks just caring for the Colt, cleaning and disinfecting the wounds. 

Realizing that if it wasn't for his grandmother's teachings, that the horse-like pokemon recovered so well Brennen decided that he was going to start his journey now, whether his grandfather approved of what he did or not. [/sub]

[b]Reason for traveling:[/b]
[sub]Having been secluded in Agate village for almost his entire life thus far, Brennen wanted to branch out and travel the region. Discover new things, make new friends; both humans and Pokemon alike.[/sub]

[b]Notes:[/b]
[sub]While he has a close relationship with his grandmother he does not like letting people know that he is technically a Joy.
He dyed his hair green mainly to spite his grandfather before leaving
He likes to knit in his free time.[/sub]

[b]Pokemon Personality:[/b] 
[sub]Like his namesake, Bashful is a shy blitzle. Nervous around most people with the exception of Brennen. He tends to hide behind the greenette when around others however, he is also quick to the young man's defense. Bashful also gets jealous of people and pokemon who catch his trainer's attention.[/sub]

[b]History of Pokemon:[/b] 
[sub]He was raised in captivity and abused by his owner, he managed to escape by breaking his collar and running away the night of the storm.[/sub]

[b]Notes:[/b] 
[sub]He still has scars on his neck from the collar but, wears a scarf Brennen made to cover it up.[/sub]
