[indent]No one at Beverly Hills High would ever call Katie Callaghan nice. Competitive, sure, opinionated, hell yes, but nice? You wouldn't find that on anybody's lips. Katie was known for being passionate, and caring deeply about whatever it was she set her mind to. Some people saw her passion as melodrama, and maybe there was merit in that; she was a frequent star in the school theater's productions after all. Regardless of how people felt about her, everyone could agree that she was hard to forget.

While Katie's brother, Jamie, was known as the preppy, much too nosey journalist, Katie was a bit of a renegade. She often showed up late to class, and rarely suffered anyone's opinion on the matter. She spoke up when she thought a teacher had fucked up, and when they gave her detention, she wore it like a badge of honor. Her outbursts weren't reserved for authority figures though; more than one jock was chewed out by Katie Callaghan after they commented on her ass.

If you only had class with Katie, you might think she was snarky, obnoxious, and perfectly content to waste the privilege she'd been gifted. If you worked with her outside of school though, in Theatre or Speech and Debate, you'd be much more likely to see her genuine potential. When Katie cares, it shows in the effort she puts in. Even if she didn't have the homework for class, she always had her lines memorized. In Speech and Debate, she was known for the sage wisdom she dished out to freshman struggling with their arguments. 

By and large, despite Katie's status as a Misfit, she was well known thanks to her relationship with Beverly Hills Golden Boy, Carter Hersh. Carter was everything that Katie wasn't; popular, polite, and punctual. He was on the school football team, and well liked by the student body, so when he and Katie showed up at a party together their sophomore year, it made waves. Nevertheless, they persisted, and it paid off. They were voted Cutest Couple before graduation. Opposites attract, right?

Thrifted clothes are a particular favorite of hers.

Katie doesn't wear a lot of makeup. She would never claim to be giving off the "natural look" but she keeps it minimal, mostly because she hates doing it. Her smile has this reserved quality, like it's the first in a long time, until it breaks into a grin. When she smiles with her teeth, it's infectious. All of Katie's emotions are like that, displayed on her face for everyone to see.[/indent]

[indent]Katie was lucky. She's always known that. Her and her twin brother Jamie were the children of one of the wealthiest and high profile couples in Beverly Hills, hell, the world. From the moment they were born, there wasn't a luxury that they didn't receive. Despite their lavish lifestyle, their father made sure to remind them that what they had was a privilege. He was from much simpler beginnings than their mother, and he was determined that his children not be silver spooners. This mentality rubbed off on the both of them, but especially Katie. She took to activism at a young age thanks to her fiery personality. Her protests at Beverly Hills Middle School, after they took chocolate muffins from the snack bar, was legendary. 

Katie was much more than an activist, though. She was always interested in her mother's work, and even in elementary school, she was a standout star in the school plays. She loved the spotlight, and the excitement of the stage. As she grew older, her interest deepened, and theatre became one of her truest loves. No one in the Callaghan house could forget waking up at all hours to the sound of Katie practicing her lines, with all the emotions she could muster.

As much as Katie loathes the idea that a man was the catalyst for her fabulous character development throughout high school, it's true to some extent. Her relationship with Carter made her grow up a lot. She would be the first to note how selfish she'd been before she met him, how blatantly she would disregard the feelings of others. They helped each other through a lot, and Katie would be lying if she said that the almost three years that they dated wasn't massively influential.[/indent][/indent]
