The frown didn't appear because she was saddened at the thought of the Treepleā„¢ not liking her. Sure, they were adorable, but she didn't really mind them disliking her. Her self-worth wasn't reliant on anyone but herself. No, she frowned because their answer was a negative, squashing any dreams of a magic joint with an annoyed-sounding 'I am Groot'. "Aw man, that's a bummer," she said, before turning her gaze to Neil. She nodded in hesitant understanding at his words. "Gotcha. So, like, for the Hobbit, it'd be Smaug, and for The Great Gatsby, it'd be the inherently flawed idea of the American Dream," she reiterated in terms she understood. She liked updating her vocabulary, even if she wasn't sure she'd ever use some of the phrases. She turned her attention to Mira as she worked on the door. "So what's the pla-" Iris began, but before she could finish, the doors slid open, and she leaped to the side, taking cover as instructed. She peered into the room to evaluate the situation. She saw the Nullifier before she saw anything else. It didn't look like it'd be hard to get. Her eyes then turned to the people in the room. It appeared that a number of X-Men were arriving at around the same time they were, and luckily, they seemed to be distracting the Surfer enough for him not to notice her team's arrival. At least, they were, until a loud alarm began going off, and Iris saw the Nullifier get swallowed up in some sort of containment chamber. She frowned, and as Sara jumped into the fray, Iris turned her head away from the action to think. There, in front of her, she saw Upsilon, standing, seemingly staring at her expectantly, despite not actually having eyes. She let out a sigh. "Alright. You're up, Upsilon. Torch the Nullifier case thing, but stay away from the people. Understand?" she said, her tone more serious than it had been the entire mission. The hallucination gave no reaction of affirmation, instead simply disappearing. She turned to look back in the room, seeing Upsilon standing in front of the containment chamber, but he did nothing, and Iris didn't feel the normal feeling she felt when Upsilon burned something. "Come on, you asshat! I thought burning shit was supposed to be your thing!" she hissed, pushing him to work his magic. With the extra verbal push, she felt a familiar feeling. It felt like there was IcyHot running through her veins, which was oddly both refreshing and exhilerating. A moment later, she saw a bright blue fire spark into existence around the containment chamber. It whirled around in a flaming tornado, encircling it. Iris couldn't see how effective it was, not until, a few seconds later, the flame decimated, leaving behind the containment chamber. It wasn't melted, but it wasn't in perfect shape either. It seemed like her fire did some damage, even if it didn't get rid of it completely. And most importantly, the fire hadn't gotten out of hand. She ducked back into place, letting out a sigh of relief. "I think that softened the container up. Hey Wizman, think you can use your blowy uppy brainy power to finish the job?" she asked, eyeing her two remaining allies in the room.
