[color=lime][b]Appearance:[/b][/color]Ken has green eyes under spiky hair he's always saying needs to be cut. Those eyes are hard but sit on a grinning expressive smirk most of the time with cheery wrinkles. Other than that he stands at 5'10 170lbs lean and broad shouldered from his chores with the livestock. You'll find him wearing denim jeans, boots and a light leather jacket most of the time, he's a fan of the burgundy garmet with its motorcycle buckles clinking like spurs.

[color=lime][b]Personality:[/b][/color] Very brash but honest, and never one to hold his tongue. He's often gotten in trouble for his rebellious and loud ways. Ken prefers a goofy aloofness with a meanstreak should there be arguments or scuffles. He detests bullies having dealt with it for much of his youth and you can tell. Apart from his charming slow wit and gulliblity there is a very protective friend, looking for friends.

[color=lime][b]Short Biography:[/b][/color] Ken was actually born in Unova outside of Nimbasa City to an archaeologist and a hippie, otherwise known as Mr. and Mrs. Hardroot. His mother Tess wanted a simple slower life after having spent her whole childhood under the hustle and bustle of the city. As luck would have it during one of her many weekend cross country vacations she found her two new life partners, a man named Roger and a Maractus she dubbed Shimmy. Kens birth was quick to follow, but the family relocated to New Bark Town after that. As much as Ken tried to learn more and adventure he was always shuffled aside with remarks of a simple life. A life Ken frankly had grown tired of.

The simple life to the Hardroots was apparently to become self sustaining farmers. They and a trio of Ponyta(two adults and an offspring that took to Kenny named Cassy), a whimsical Maractus, and the occasional stray pokemon the Mrs. takes in are all that they have humbly aspired to it seems. Ken is itching for adventure since the Safari has refused his application for the third time now. He's on his way out of town to at least try out the SafariZone as a trainer .

[color=lime][b]Reason for Traveling with Main Group:[/b][/color] Ken is tired of living a simple life and wishes to escape.He's been getting in far to much trouble around the countryside with vandalism. Roger, his father, demands he leave or tow the line, but perhaps his mothers fantasies about Unova spurred him on too. As he'll admit in saying "dad always said, faster alone farther together." he's openly pondered his escape to his community for the past week seeing if anyone would bite.

[b]Roger Hardroot:[/b] Retired PokeArcheolgist, to be honest the odd legendary hunter or tourist would end up searching him out to pick his brain. Kenny finds the whole subject boring and stuffy. 
[b]Tess Hardroot:[/b] Amateur Apothecary, if you need to know some nifty homeopathic cure, Tess is your hippe. Her superstitions really grew on Ken.

Nao was always trying to convince him to go see little Tai and his pup seeing as he had a fire type too. He never felt comfortable as the younger, smaller kid to Dante, a claim he's only told Nao. So he let him and his brother be. That is until he heard of what had happened to the little prodigy. Anger and injustice are not familiar to Kenny and he knows he should help, at least for Tai.

Kenny had heard the local Toyama breeders had an adventurous sister in their ranks when he was growing up, but they lived on the other side of town. It also helped that a graveyard was along the path to play with her little brother Saito, so he hardly dared go over before he was [i]allowed[/i] out alone with his Ponyta. Thus Kenny know the older sister friendly acquaintance.

Naoko was a familiar face around the farm during their youth almost a little sister to him. Kenny found his playmate silly but endlessly entertaining with her inquisitive tinkering, plus his short attention span and willing to be a test subject. She thought herself out of problems, and Kenny forced them, something he was willing to bet was a relief to her endless projects. Pretending to be real trainers was a joy, and he'd often try and search them out past curfew with her beeper until she took it back for beeping around the wee hours of night jumping at every shadow.

Kenny had no idea there were so many ways you could put a Maractus in to a dress. As it turns out his mother's unofficial sponsorship of Kat's hobby is a direct reason why Kenny loves to help Naoko out with gadgets. He's had to pick up a few packages from her residence with promises not to burn them on the way back.

Kenny could probably recall a childhood acquaintance seemingly obsessed with dance if you sat him down(goodluck). But seeing as how he's grown more and more distanced from his hometown spiritually he's likely forgotten faces and perhaps names even.

Barry's family are the properly established horticulturist in the area and ran good business out of their pharmacy throughout Kenny's youth. So a little rascal on his pony picking up berries and vials became a common occurrence. He knows Barry went of to study, so he's a solid bloke. Doesn't know he's returned yet.
