He's hoping they catch on) Age: 23 Gender:Male Appearance: Sam's shorter than average at 5'8", made even worse by his tendency to slouch. He likes to dress flashy, likes bold colors and patterns, but is always keeping an eye on fashion trends. Sam prefers to wear coats even when the weather doesn't call for them, as he needs as many pockets as he can get. Whenever he goes out he always has his sunglasses and a cigarette. Sometimes he doesn't even light the cigarette when he pulls one out, just using to gesticulate he's talking or bite down on when he's thinking intensely. Personality:Sam's always active, always thinking, quickly, but not necessarily thoroughly. He's the kind of person that's always looking for angle, a leg up on the rest of the world, and is fine with bending the rules a little. He doesn't believe in outright theft or violence, but if he ends up better off because he could think of a better scheme than anyone else, that money is as honest as any other in his book. Money is something he thinks about a lot, not really because he's addicted to spending it (though he will throw some around to make a point), but because it's how he measures himself, how he sees if he's finally amounted to something worthwhile. He's a natural deal maker and superficial charmer, but in terms of actual relationships he prefers to have a few close and loyal ones; he'll always back up someone if they are part of his bunch. For outsiders he's more willing to burn bridges; customer satisfaction ain't money, only money is money. In his personal time he's restless, trying to stay active and disdaining intellectual pursuits, his time at university has left him seeing it as something for people who don't value their money. Short Biography:Sam's parents were highschool sweethearts, married shortly after graduating from school in New Bark Town. They had a shared love of art and painting, but art wasn't a way to pay the bills. His father got a job at the local aluminum smelting plant helping out with machinery maintenence, while his mother worked odd jobs and sold the occasional painting. Sam didn't have much growing up, but he was happy enough, finding his own ways to have fun and explore the town. When Sam was in elementary school the smelting plant closed and his father was laid off; money became tight and his parents began to quarrel. To this day he can't process it all, but it ended with his parents divorcing and his mother re-marrying. Mr. Kiyosaki, Sam's new stepfather, was a bigshot in the local real estate scene, not very present in his life but always willing to throw around some money in an attempt to buy some goodwill. With his parents splitting custody, Sam grew frustrated with his Father's poverty and started seeing him as something a model of what not to do. Eventually Sam went off to college, changing majors several times as his interests and ideas changed. While he was away at college, Mr. Kiyosaki divorced his mother and moved on to another wife (his third by now), but he at least had the courtesy to leave some money for Sam to complete his studies. Well, it may have been a courtesy enforced by the divorce judgment, but Sam was grateful for it. After one too many semesters of poor grades (Sam insists his time was better spent "networking" than studying), the university politely asked that he take a semester off to reconsider his commitement. Finding himself back in New Bark Town, Sam wasn't interested in hearing about his biological parents patching things up or his father's new line of work as a wind turbine repairman; he was going to use his new freedom to go out into the world and be somebody. He didn't need any piece of paper to tell he was ready, he knew he was ready now. Prone to standing still until getting scared of something out of nowhere. Likes to curl up and perch on safe places, like on the shoulder of a friend.
Reason for Traveling with Main Group: Every business is a relationship business. No one makes money without having connections, and there's no better way to get connections than trying to do something big with together a group of driven and people. Relationships: David Quinn: Father. Quiet, keeps to himself. Gets a lot of painting ideas from his work repairing wind turbines. Mari Tamura: Mother. Living on her own, works part time with a local pokemon breeder. A social butterfly, well-liked among the town. Toru Kiyosaki: Stepfather. Responsible for a lot of real estate and construction around New Bark Town. Everyone around has an opinion of him, either positive or negative. Without his donations to local public works projects it would probably be overwhelmingly negative. Stern, not much contact with Sam these days. Akio Kiyosaki: Stepbrother. Toru's son with his first wife, and always Toru's favorite child and choice to inherit his business. More intellectual in his interests than his father or Sam, but has an condescending air about him. Can be kind to the people he counts as true friends and equals, but that is a very small set. Kyoko Kiyosaki: Half-sister. Younger than Sam, a bundle of energy and warmth. Sort of directionless at the moment, but always looked up to Sam for his passion. Other: Nothing for the moment
