And then there was a branch family of that family. These psychics possessed the ability to mold shadows, but their abilities were so weak, their minds so unfocused, they could only mold their own shadow. But this family persisted for many generations, desperately hoping to recapture their former glory, before they had been forced out of the Demon Hunter's Association by the many half-bloods that now comprised it. One day, the matriarch of the family was confirmed to have twins. It was a joyous thing, for a set of psychic twins would surely be more powerful than anything the family had produced until now. It was rather unfortunate then, that one of the twins absorbed the other while in the womb, selfish little thing he was. But it was this event, this rare occurrence, that would be the beginning of the end for this family of psychics. Born a lowly street rat in the province of Bihar, India, there was a child with no name. His mother died when he was born, and his father had no compassion for the child, he couldn't. He was to be the next heir, the rebirth of their disgraced family. Where the father could not access the channel, the child would have to. He must. Few words between them were exchanged, for the longest time the boy would not even speak. "Come here boy." "What the hell are you doing boy?" "Get the fuck away from there boy!" Boy. Boy boy boy. All this child ever was, was boy. He had no peers to name him, nor did any superior in his life care to acknowledge him. He had nobody but himself for eight years, simply a boy alone in the darkness, hiding his bruises and licking his wounds. Waiting for something to change. His grudges and hatreds built up for years but he did not have the strength to act upon them. His id festered and boiled as he drowned in his repressed instincts. One day, the boy's father locked him in a dark room with nothing to eat, nothing to drink. He was given a simple task. "You can come out once you've accessed your channel. Figure it out boy." For days and nights the boy stayed locked away in that room, nothing but the darkness to accompany him. The boy struggled in vain to access that channel in his brain, but he had no frame of reference to work with. How does one call upon that which should be instinctual? The boy did not know, so he simply shivered and cried in the dark. Alone. He starved, he thirsted, until he could take it no more, begging something to help him, anything. And deep within the depths of his soul, someone new awoke for the first time. A soul thought to be gone, absorbed by their brother. The soul spoke for the first time, it's words echoing in the boy's mind. "Let me try." He woke up in the room by himself, but he knew he was not truely by himself. His shadow, it was alive, holding him gently, whispering those calming words he could never hear from another. It receded soon after he awoke, but the boy knew it had been there. It was still there, just... inside him. Eventually his father gave up, ripping him out of the room when he was on the verge of death. He had no idea that the boy had succeeded, nor would the boy tell him. The boy was beaten, the boy was starved, id continued to fester and thrash. But under the cover of darkness would the shadow manifest once more, speaking to the boy, mending his wounds, calming him. It was this shadow that gave him the name of Simon, a random name heard outside the window while the boy slept. Two years passed, Simon and the shadow within him bonded. His name would be Phobia, as he was the darkness which people feared. A bit dramatic, but the boy was ten after all, what can you expect from a child? It was no single event that triggered the death of Simon's father. There was no turning point, no final strike that made Simon decide to kill that man. One night, he simply acted on impulse and strangled him to death, before asking Phobia to tear the corpse apart and devour it to remove the evidence. The shadow did not protest much, he had seen the things the man had done to Simon. The life Simon had lived until Phobia awoke. He deserved it all. But this was the beginning of a rampage that almost couldn't be stopped, dozens dead in the span of a single night, all people who had wronged Simon in some way or another. The man who kicked the panhandling child had his legs torn off, the butcher who cut the boy for stealing a piece of beef was fed his own hands, the man with glasses who looked at him scornfully had his eyes torn out. It was id on a rampage, it was everything Phobia could do to hold him back long enough for someone to stop this child. He didn't want this, he just wanted Simon to be free. An organization known as the Demon Hunters Association were dispatched, a group dedicated to the extermination of half-bloods throughout the Oriental nations. Simon was captured and subdued by a team of Demon Hunters, though they were greatly confused when their binding spells had no effect on this seemingly inhuman child. Phobia manifested to explain, the story of this inhuman human who they had captured. A decision was given to the young boy and his shadow. They could choose to work with the Demon Hunters, to wash off the blood on their hands by saving others from the menace known as Half-Bloods. Or they could be executed, just another body amongst the pile of corpses Simon had produced. Simon of course immediately declined, citing such a job as "too much work" and "annoying" considering he didn't even like people that much, but Phobia managed to talk him into it before they could both be executed by their captors. A good deal all in all, though Simon would rather be doing something else. Rather ironic all in all, the boy who had been bred to bring the family back into the fold of the DHA ha finally earned a spot, at the expense of the entire family. Thus Simon and Phobia met their new life head on. They hunted Half-Bloods throughout India, learned the values and laws of man, they were taught the taboos of the Moonlit World and the Mantra that the Demon Hunter Association utilized. This in particular was rather useful to Simon and Phobia, as only two minds in one body could properly utilize the highest techniques of Mantra. Simon is now 18 years of age, eight years spent within the company of the Demon Hunter Association. Rumors abound of a Holy Grail War, a battle for an omnipotent wish granting device that could fulfill any desire. While this by itself is rather uninteresting to the Association, further rumors of a dangerous Half-Blood and a Magus who utilized Demons pursuing the Holy Grail most definitely kicked them into gear. While Simon was originally uninterested in such a mission, upon Phobia convincing him that the City of Sin would be "a real fun time, trust me, super cool!" he conceded begrudgingly so long as he got to spend his free time at these "casinos". Personality: The relationship between Simon and Phobia is a bit complex in terms of personality, so it might be best to separate the analysis of their personalities into two sections. Simon is a man who is without superego, the morality of man that keeps us from doing whatever we want without regard. He is in effect, a man who embraces his desires wholeheartedly and without remorse. Without someone else to keep him in check, he would just do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, which is generally not a good way to live in society. This is not to say he is a stupid beast, far from it he is quite intelligent. It's not even to say he is evil by nature, he can be quite the hero when he wants to be. It's just, only when he wants to be. It is more along the lines of, if someone were to tell him that assaulting someone is illegal, even if they spat on your shoes and were very rude, he would fully understand what they were telling him. "If everyone says so, I guess it has to be true." But if someone were to spit on his shoes in the street, he would likely beat them half to death for the insult regardless. "You think I'm going to let you get away with that?! HUH!? I'LL FUCKING STOMP YOUR BRAINS ALL OVER THIS GODDAMN STREET!" Phobia on the other hand, is the only thing stopping Simon from following through on these stupid impulses. The angel on Simon's shoulder, the quiet hand guiding his actions, the rough arms holding him back from doing something insane like punching a politician in the face because he gave Simon a funny look. But he was and is Simon's only true friend, so he cares for the man regardless of how psychotic and unhinged he may be. He's the only one who really understands the inhuman human after all. It would be best to think of Phobia as a tired parent constantly trying to keep their rabid 6 year old in check. "I KNOW YOU WANT THE FUCKING HEADPHONES, BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM! NO YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE THEM, THAT'S ILLEGAL! I DON'T CARE THAT YOU DON'T CARE, PUT THEM BACK!" Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (Lawful Neutral)
Number of Magic Circuits: C Quality of Magic Circuits: B Elemental Affinity: Shadow

Psychic Channel
Turning inward, further and further inward, until eventually a channel within Simon's brain was activated and his shadow was made manifest, the darkness was now his to control. Shadows are made manifest as a fluid darkness that Simon and Phobia can do many things with. However for the most part, Phobia is in control of the shadows as it would take up most of Simon's focus just to manipulate his own shadow without moving. From manifesting blades and bullets of shadow, to structures to be used, the shadows are theirs to command without question. When working in conjunction, with Phobia controlling the shadows and Simon controlling his own finely tuned body, the two can even defensively battle against the beings known as Ghost Liners, possibly even striking a killing blow should they get lucky and their opponent be careless. It's basically a Stand, I can't be much more straightforward.

Equipment
Simon and Phobia were given a variety of tools from their family's treasury to aid them on their mission in the City of Sin. Several weapons including but not limited to, staffs made from mystery soaked bamboo stalks, Maru made from the horns of a phantasmal beast, Kattari forged by the premier blacksmith of the Demon Hunters, basically weapons of the highest degree without having explicit magic effects. They aren't likely to break is what I'm trying to say.

Miscellaneous
As an agent of the Demon Hunter Association, Simon has been trained in the art of Silambam, a martial art with a focus on a variety of weapons such as the staff, Kattari, Aruval, and other such weapons. He's also dabbled in a variety of other hobbies, from playing the guitar to blind archery to shooting a variety of guns, Simon can be said to have a base level of competence in a lot of things that can be considered exciting and fun. But unfortunately, he loses interest in most of these subjects rather quickly, so he hasn't truely "mastered" any of these hobbies. They are merely hobbies. The one exception to this would be his competence in driving fast vehicles, which is something that has managed to hold his attention for an impressive 4 whole years now! Simon likes when the motorcycle go vroom vroom very fast, he especially likes it when he makes the really tight turn and Phobia starts yelling he's gonna kill Simon as soon as he gets off this damn motorcycle. In regards to equipment, Simon was only equipped with two mundane items before being sent on his way. A flip phone to be used if he needs to call in backup in emergencies and... a credit card with no limit. This was a mistake. Simon has already purchased with his new credit card, several firearms and way too much ammunition, a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R motorcycle, a helmet (Phobia made him buy it), a penthouse suite at the Wynn hotel, the latest model of smartphone, designer clothing, and ninja stars. It is important to note that Simon does not know how to use ninja stars, but he wanted them anyways. Phobia is doing his best to hold Simon back from purchasing grenades and explosives, but he is fighting a losing battle.
