Father of the greatest hero of Northern Europe, and member of the ill-fated Völsung clan, who first pulled out the Sword in the Tree.

The only survivor of the massacre carried out by King Siggeir on his father and siblings, he spent a large portion of his life in the pursuit of vengeance, killing the children his sister sent to aid him when they proved themselves to be incapable of keeping up.

That streak would be broken with Fitela — his own son, born of incest, and the only one of Signy’s children to have the markings of a proper Völsung because of it. Raising him in the wilderness and teaching him the ways of the outlaw and the hunter, they were accomplices and ravaged Siggeir’s lands as such.

In particular, they even shared the “distinction” of bearing the same kind of wolf skin, becoming monsters rather than humans.

The story would normally continue with “and after many perils, he achieved what he set out to accomplish…”, but truthfully, that has little bearing on Berserker.

By summoning him in such container, he has been designated as “the outlaw”. Coarse, rough and lacking the knightly disposition of other stages of his life, he seeks only one thing: to prove his own strength and crush all who would stand in the way of his goal.

“After all, that entire debacle only happened because Siggeir didn’t fear us enough.”

His wish for the Grail is rather simple, though. "To be able to change the ill fortunes of his clan".

After all, one who chases after revenge is also one who wishes to recover things they've lost.

High speed thought and processing power geared toward identifying weaknesses and devising the best method of attack, as well as minimizing the chances of the opponent avoiding it. Consequently, speed and efficiency with regards to planning and execution of enemies are greatly heightened.

By taking in the target, evolution and refinement are achieved in seconds. However, it is more limited in terms of applicability — only “combat power” remains a concern.

...One could call it the ability to “eat” pretty much anything. A stomach of cast iron.

Because this is Gram before its unfortunate destruction at the hands of Odin, however, it lacks the attribute of “dragon-slaying” in return for an emphasis in the “sovereignty” aspect.

The greatest of Demonic Swords that boasts standing equal to the greatest among Holy Swords.

Because he lacks the absurd amounts of magical energy his child possessed after consuming the dragon’s heart, he cannot utilize the “full potential” of the sword. However, by means of concentrating and efficiently utilizing what he does have, it is possible to wield it to carry out a shining golden slash that cuts through and burns away the enemy.

It lacks the sweeping destructive power of the technique used by his son or carried out by other Holy Swords, but it is far more efficient in turn.

The cursed wolfskin that led to Berserker becoming a monster in the tale. Pragmatically speaking, it has become a form of conceptual formal wear, and plays an important role in him being able to “properly qualify” for Berserker.

In a similar process to a certain pelt, it causes the wearer to exhibit the characteristics of a Demonic Beast — in this case, those of a werewolf, colored by the perception of the “wolf” within Norse mythology. 

Because when summoned as a Berserker the Noble Phantasm is active from the point of materialization, the power boost is less than it would be in a different class, but he enjoys far greater stability.[/hider]
