She wears a dark gray coat I’ve her body, it hugs her chest a little tightly, but the sleeve flair out a bit and are therefore rather loose. Her skin is a fair olive shade, and has what looks to be faint burn marks from days long gone. These burns are more prevalent around her hands. Lena’s hair is almost always in a really thick braid, almost as thick as her arms. Any hair that she misses simply gets chopped off. Her massive braid thins out towards its end, away from her head. This hair is the color of tree bark, and though it’s tied up, it looks a bit messy. Lena has this resting face that looks as if she’s lived for hundreds of years, nothing ever seems to phase her or shake that stone expression she wears. She also has some pretty noticeable dark circles around her eyes as a result of developing insomnia thanks to the fucks in the most. Lena typically wears clothes that don’t move from her body, but flow off of her limbs, an example of this is her coat, and her faded jeans that she’s had on for who knows how long. She also has a pair of weathered, knee high boots that she found in an abandoned shop somewhere. Lena’s eyes, if you can see them, are a dark brown color with some lighter brown flecks in them. Hanging from her shoulders is a small and light blue backpack.

PSYCHOLOGY
"As long as we’re alive, we win. When we die, they win."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Lena hasn’t had much of a goal in mind since the world went to shit. She’s just stuck to herself and tried to stay alive until she can’t for as long as she can’t. PHILOSOPHY ⫻ As far as she’s concerned, you should walk like there’s a knife in your boot, in her case, there’s usually more than one. She doesn’t let this reddened world slow her down, and believes in letting life get away with just enough before it starts to bite her. Nothing is meant to happen, it just happens. SECRETS ⫻ She wasn’t always female. SEXUALITY ⫻ Like hell if she knows. FEARS ⫻ She’s probably worried the most about one day walking through some ruined city and finding somebody from her old life, someone who didn’t know who “Lena” is. QUIRKS ⫻ She sometimes seems almost dangerously relaxed, too much so for her own good in a world full of monsters. FLAWS ⫻ Again, sometimes she just can’t bring herself to feel worried about anything. On top of that, she doesn’t know shit about guns.

BACKSTORY
"As much as I hate to say it, the past makes us who we are."

A long time ago, there was a kid with a name Lena never even thinks about anymore. He grew up in a quiet town with a lot of people in it, and held onto a secret he didn’t want anyone knowing about. This kid didn’t have the best parents growing up, they always talked about how he was their property and how they had the right to do anything in the world. Though this kid never harbored any sort of serious hate for anyone, he still tried to keep as much distance between himself and those parents of his as possible. If he wasn’t at school, he was in his room alone. But he started coming out of there more and more when he and his father built a makeshift forge in their backyard. His dad made things like hatchets and shovels, or nails. The kid made knives and swords, and was pretty damn good at it too. By the time people were spreading rumors about this kid, and spreading rumors about a red cloud, he had already made an entire arsenal of sharp weapons out of enjoyment alone. His father was beginning to pick up of the things people were saying about him, so he confronted his son. They got into a serious feud, and a fist or two had been thrown. That was the day the most came. Hours after that fight, the kid was outside working on a knife when the monsters hit the other side of town, where his dad was blowing off steam. In a fit of adrenaline and fear, the kid grabbed a backpack, loaded it with some things, and grabbed as many of his knives as he could. If anyone made it out of that town, they’d never see him again. After that godawful day, the kid stuck to himself even after seeing plenty of survivors, but more importantly, he stopped being that kid, the world he hid from was behind him, now he was Lena Carter. She stopped caring about hiding, unless it was to hide from the mist. The end of the world took that old face away, now her secret was out, and she was herself.

SKILLS & TALENTS
"Need a weapon? Sure."

[REMOVE THIS. A list of everything your character is good at... just, uh, keep it realistic. If I see one judo black belt with survival skills training, cooking, and rifle training, I'm gonna slap a bitch. REMOVE THIS.] Forging⫻ More specifically bladesmithing, Lena grew up with a cobbled-together solid fuel forget in her backyard, built by her father, when the two of them decided they needed something new to do. As a result of this, Lena’s good at crafting knives or small swords, as well as tempering and even repairing small damage to some weapons. Melee Combat⫻ Lena’s never had formal training under some kind of teacher, but she’s always had an interest in fighting with daggers or swords, so she taught herself from a young age. Managing Fire⫻ Lena’s old forge was fueled by coal and wood, and this made her learn the hard way how to arrange and stack material to keep air circulating through a fire. As long as she has something flammable, she should be able to keep a flame going for a while.

EQUIPMENT & GEAR
"Quote about equipment and or gear."

Various knives ⫻ Having grown with bladed weapons, Lena was able to grab quite a few, all of them she made at various stages in her life. Most of the ones she has now are, at first glance, hilariously small, but those are just emergency ones that she keeps in her boot or strung around her neck, and almost all of them are for things like stabbing or cutting through something small like a rope or some asshole’s hand. In total she has around 5 or 6 somewhere on her body. Her “serious” knife is an 8 inch integral-style dagger designed for hacking and puncturing. She hides its sheath under her coat. Backpack ⫻ Inside this small pack is little more than a flask for water, one or two cans of food, and a rolled up blanket that she occasionally uses to sleep.
