He stands just topping 6 feet tall and weighs 166 pounds. He has somewhat fair skin, but does not sunburn easily at all despite this. He has bright, spiky, fiery-orange ginger hair and noticeably unique crimson red eyes. Blake has several distinct scars, most notably a mostly-healed burn scar on the left side of his neck. He also has a few smaller burn scars on his hands and one on his abdomen, and a cut scar on his knee from something entirely unrelated. Blood Type O- Occupation Hero (full-timer!) Side Hero Affiliation H.E.R.O. Tier A- Personality Blake is a rambunctious young man, a naturally exuberant person that always strives for more action, more heart-pumping, more excitement. He’s naturally courageous and dauntless, fiery as a lit match, and is almost always zestful. Blake is always the first person to recruit to do something intriguing- he often acts as though he has no sense of fear, and he's always open to stepping outside his comfort zone and engaging in something headfirst that he has never done before. Blake's extreme openness may come off as arrogant and show-offy to some, but his intentions are much more impish than that- he's simply a fun-loving person. Blake is an extroverted, social creature, and he enjoys meeting new people and striking up conversation. Blake doesn't like working solo and enjoys teaming up with other heroes when he goes on missions, rather than going solo. Despite his fiery, headstrong style, Blake is a surprisingly good team player and is willing to listen to others and coordinate attacks and the like. Blake is a very confident individual, and though it would be a fallacy to call him pompous, it wouldn't be wrong to say that he is a bit of a sore loser. Blake is competitive with other Heroes and likes to show off his talents regularly. Blake is known for going all-in in every fight he partakes in with winning expectations in mind, and isn't above causing a little destruction to achieve his end result. In his mind, winning an immediate fight can often overtake other priorities, and though Blake is very open and real about his emotions and personality, he doesn't truly recognize this all too much. Blake is inarguably a fiercely protective friend, though, and he goes above and beyond to help other people in need, the reason he became a hero in the first place. While he is known as a gallant, vigilant, and very noble person when the chips are down, always a good friend to talk to, his very destructive power combined with his tendency to showboat can cause significant amounts of damage to his surroundings, specifically buildings, and he is one of the prime culprits of H.E.R.O.'s heavy destruction of property. Blake, overall, may be a little big for his britches, but he's a fun guy and, more importantly, a nice guy, and while he does step over the line [s]sometimes[/s] frequently, he knows the difference between right and wrong and is willing to light up to defend right and defeat wrong. And at the end of the day, that's what counts. Oh, and the millions of dollars in repair costs. That adds up too. Backstory The young Blake Ignatius von Brandt was born in an old family home on Passenger Island. His dad was a detective working high-profile cases such as murder, rape, and other disgusting felony crimes, while his mom stayed at home. Blake was a naturally curious, energetic soul, playing multiple sports and was clearly vibrant from an early age. His family had worked in law enforcement for many years and Blake's dad, Brian Ignatius von Brandt, expected Blake to follow suit. Blake very much respected his father for working in public service but never was able to picture himself as a police officer. He wanted to help people, but he always felt destined for something bigger. Blake saw his paragon at the age of 12, when a strange Leftover giant dog creature came barreling down the streets of Passenger Island, inflicting great damage in its wake. As the police battled the creature, with no success, Blake watched as H.E.R.O. professional Bonfire leaped down from a rooftop and, using his flaming fists, beat the creature down into submission. Blake found his calling for life that day. He began to spend hours outdoors, trying to find a hidden power, and when one day at age 14 he managed to light a stick on fire by its own, he knew he was set. He would become a superhero, a fire superhero, just like Bonfire, and he would save people just like Bonfire did that day. His dad wasn't exactly pleased with the development that his son, instead of joining the respectable police force, would be instead dropping out of school to pursue a career in masquerading around down fighting villains, but he soon came to accept and eventually support his son's decision, especially after his son helped track down a serial killer loose in Passenger Island (talk about father-son bonding.) His dad remains one of his biggest supporters today (and anyway, he's glad now his son did not become something worse, like a criminal, or even worse, a defense attorney.) Blake filled out his H.E.R.O. paperwork at age 16, and while is psychological assessment had...mixed results, he aced his aptitude assessments and proved to be a capable enough individual to join H.E.R.O. as a full-time hero, a position he still holds today. Though he has caused great damages since and a lot of headaches for firefighters and Restorative Unit agents across the city, it is undeniable that the Firebird has proven to be a powerhouse in taking down crime and villains alike. Since joining H.E.R.O., Blake has rented an apartment in the East Flank where he lives alone, though he does hang out with others often and visits his parents occasionally as well. Though Bonfire has since retired, Blake managed to get his signature before then and now has a signed poster of Bonfire in his bedroom. Power: Fahrenheit 1,000 Short Version: Blake makes things burn. Long Version: Blake is able to rapidly excite air molecules and light them ablaze, in essence allowing him to create and use fire in a fight. Outside of creating fires, Blake also has a limited ability to control the movement of fire, though he is not very capable of manipulating the intensity of a fire, only being able to do so to a small extent, meaning firefighters will have to do so for him.
Techniques

Twin Flames: His classic attack, Blake simply fires two "beams" of concentrated fire. Blake relies on simply blasting his opponents as a bit of a crutch, but damn is it effective.

"Up in Smoke": Blake concentrates and ignites the area surrounding his target, causing two spiraling pillars of flame to wrap around and then constrict them. A difficult ability to counter without water, but the ability requires focus to execute.

Fireball: As one might expect, Blake creates a ball of fire and then blasts it at his foe. Simple, but effective. He can launch many fireballs in quick succession.

Volcano: Blake ignites the materials below his target and sends a burst of fire directly up. In theory, highly effective. Blake has yet to master this, however.

Nine Gates of Hell: Blake's trump card, and a fairly predictable one at that. He uses the full extent of his power and ignites as much fire as he humanly can, blasting an inhumanly large twister of fire at his foe and incinerating literally everything in his path with white-hot flames. This ability has been used once, and resulted in many consequences. Besides taking off serious cash from his paycheck, the ability also leaves Blake nearly unconscious from the sheer exertion of lighting so much damn fire.

Weaknesses: The more fire he creates, the more tired Blake gets. Also, Blake has limited control of the fire he creates outside of "shoot it forwards" and "shoot it up," and perhaps most importantly, he is not immune to his own fire, meaning he has to be careful when using it in fear of burning himself, though oddly, Blake is highly tolerant to heat. Other

Blake is actually a very good chef. Home and careers was the only class (besides gym, but that doesn't count) that he got an "A" in in high school, and he still routinely cooks for himself and other people. While he's not going to be appearing on "Chopped" anytime soon, most people that taste his cooking are pleasantly surprised.
Blake's license was suspended after he commandeered a semi-truck in pursuit of a bank robber. The bank robber's escape vehicle was eventually destroyed, along with about 48 street signs, 20 fire hydrants, 15 street lights, 4 unrelated cars, a motorcycle, and an entire billboard. Needless to say, he has not gotten it back yet.
Blake owns a skateboard and scooter, both produced by HERO, that he can channel his power into to increase his speed.
Blake has a pet guinea pig named Biscuit. It is adorable.
Blake is surprisingly musical talented. He knows next to nothing about music theory, but he is gifted at the guitar and has a surprisingly solid, raspy, husky voice, comparable to Bruce Springsteen. Fittingly, he enjoys rock music and listens to it predominantly, though he has listened to pop music before.
Blake has purportedly met Blade on a mission outside of Castleburg to hunt down a cow-themed supervillain. Blake was alone at this time, so whether or not he's telling the truth or if the story is an elaborate piece of con work is unknown.

Name of Person Thomas Rees Relationship Status Best Friend Quick Quote "Tom's fun. We're close. All cool between us. Lots of memories being dragged into Powers' office together." Relationship Description Tom is probably one of Blake's closest friends in H.E.R.O. if not flat-out his best friend in the entire organization. Their mutually fun-loving personalities, disdain for authority, and overall wild attitude towards heroics behinds them together much closer than their differences split them.
Name of Person Brianna Hart Relationship Status Good Friends / Jail-Mates Quick Quote "Probably provokes the bad side of me more than I would like. But hey, what's the fun of being all good!" Relationship Description Blake and Brianna have grown fairly close (at least, in his opinion) and since first interacting in the Lucky Cow, the two have participated in all sorts of hi-jinks together, and Blake considers her one of his best friends in HERO. Though they share lots of pleasant memories together, Blake knows next to nothing about her personal life, except that she grew up poor and has a terrible taste in dogs.
Name of Person William Thorson Relationship Status Good Friends Quick Quote "He's pretty chill to hang with, though he needs to liven up a bit." Relationship Description Blake would consider himself rather friendly with the water user, and constantly tries to coax out a more wild side from him. The fact that he hangs out with one of his closer friends in HERO also helps out a bit. Though they've had rougher moments, Blake is overall friendly with him. Blake also enjoys sparring him very much, because fire vs. water is a fun time.
Name of Person Angelica Alexander Relationship Status Muffin Quick Quote "She's such an angel." Relationship Description Blake is very much smitten with Angie and very much enjoys spending time with her. Their relationship is very close, if a bit obnoxious to others sometimes. Blake is normally a nice guy, but he's especially nice and extremely protective of Angie.
Name of Person Eliza Alexander Relationship Status Friendly Quick Quote "Isn't she just the most adorable thing?" Relationship Description Blake treats Eliza as the sister he never had. That does include normal older-brother teasing, as is relegated towards most of HERO, but Blake looks out for Eliza and does his best to keep an eye out for her. Not always successfully, but it's the effort that counts, right?
Name of Person Jamie Stewart Relationship Status Friends / Jail Mates Quick Quote "I still feel bad about getting her license taken that one time. But hey, I think she forgot already!" Relationship Description Another person that also gets hauled off to Powers' office often, Blake is fairly close with her, treating her as a friend. He may tease her time to time based off of...certain aspects of her intelligence, but he'd rather have a dumb friend than a smart enemy.
Name of Person Joseph Moore Relationship Status Friendly / Drinking Buddies Quick Quote "He's weird, and he makes some weird references that I don't get, and he's also lazy. But outside of that, he can be pretty fun!" Relationship Description While Blake wouldn't consider himself overly close to Joseph, and while Blake's more rambunctious personality conflicts with Joseph's lackadaisical attitude, they've had a few fun scrapes together and Blake has found that while Joseph is lazy, he does have a wilder side to him that appeals to Blake's own.
Name of Person Patricia Donnelly Relationship Status Friendly Quick Quote "She's Fatty Patty!" Relationship Description Blake and Patricia have an overall OK relationship, though Blake exclusively refers to her by nicknames such as "Trish," "Pat," et cetera. They tease each other excruciatingly but at the end of the day Blake does have respect for her and has grown increasingly friendly with her. He's vaguely familiar of her father's past and her backstory, but he could care less.
Name of Person Azhar Naar Relationship Status Friendly Quick Quote "He's chill, pretty cool guy with rad powers. Likes whiskey too much, though." Relationship Description Blake hasn't had too many interactions with the death mutant as of yet, but he's quite fond of him in general and likes to hang out with him.
Name of Person Ava + Marcus Relationship Status Familiar Quick Quote "Yeah, I know of them, I just don't know them too well." Relationship Description Blake isn't all too close to either of them and hasn't spent much time socializing with either the older hero or the younger Leftover mutant as of yet. He certainly has no qualms with either of them and finds Ava kinda funny.
Name of Person Starbright Relationship Status Acquaintance Quick Quote "I mean, he's Starbright! Relationship Description While not friends with him my any means (even by his own admission, not a fan of Starbright's music), Blake does have some level of respect for the media personality and is friendly enough with him. He doesn't understand why everybody hates him so much.
Name of Person Zane Wulfe Relationship Status Rival Quick Quote "Watch out, your joy is about to be killed!" Relationship Description Iit seems unlikely any sort of friendly relationship is starting between them any time soon, because they are literal polar opposites. Blake's teasing antagonism towards Zane is probably not helping this cause. That being said, Blake doesn't harbor any animosity towards him; he just simply finds his presence to be indicative that the fun is about to end.
Name of Person Levi Lawlite Relationship Status Friendly Quick Quote "We're on good speaking terms. Could be better if he cut out the ICOSA crap" Relationship Description While Blake respects Levi's talent, generally enjoys his company, and has fun teaching him the intricacies of pyrokinesis, their relation is hampered somewhat by Levi's dedication to non-destruction and ICOSA provisions, something Blake always tries to get Levi to forget.
Name of Person Jade Farley Relationship Status complicated :( Quick Quote "This interview is over!" Relationship Description Canada is now his least favorite country.
Name of Person Jasper Farley Relationship Status Friendly Quick Quote "He's, uh, nice." Relationship Description By means of another individual with the same last name, Blake has a friendly relationship with Jasper. He is just the cutest little munchkin, after all. He's basically un-hatable.
