Extremely friendly and outwardly kind, Marcus is a very petty and sarcastic man. Always wanting to help but very attentive to his appearance. He takes any word against himself, be it of his career, abilities or appearance, as serious as a death threat. As said before, extremely proud and often vain, he is nonetheless a selfless hero and has placed himself in life threatening situations to save civilians on many occasions. In his own words, [i]"What good is it being as handsome and simply outstanding as I am if one has no fans to talk about you?" [/i]

[u][b]Backstory[/b][/u]
Father put in jail for possessing very specific illegal images as well as dealing drugs, and mother dying of a drug overdose, Marcus has always been very meticulous about his appearance, as if he were trying to crawl his way out of his family name through appearance alone. After a brief stint in an orphanage where he spent most of his life honing his powers to hide them, he was eventually 18 when he finally left behind the kindly old folks who took him in and joined the H.E.R.O organization. 

He was a fast fit for the job, his eagerness to make his own name for himself coupled with the natural fame that came with it easily helped the previously shy and overly emotional young man develop not only a sense of self-esteem, but quickly develop into a man with a strong sense of right and wrong, even if he is quite vain about most everything he does.

The discovery Doctor Shelly's lab and the subsequent solo destruction of everything inside quickly lead to the discovery of SG3U199. SG3U199 was nothing like many of the half cooked abominations in the Doctor's Lab. She was lucid, curious, wasn't violent, but most of all was terrified and confused. Marcus brought the thing... No the girl, back with him after retrieving as much data about the experiment as he could, and topping the whole experience off by tearing the godforsaken building apart beam by beam.

He named the girl Avangaline, but her inability to initially pronounce that lead to her being called Ava. Marcus now acts as a sort of adoptive father for the genetic mutation, and will take any word against her as seriously as he would a word against himself.
