Her big, blue eyes with small, pink crosses are probably her most noticeable feature, her heart shaped face giving her a rather innocent look. She has a fairly slim body type with not much to write home about, though she seems content with her blossoming body. She often wears a large, pink flower with a ribbon on the side of her head. Her possessions and clothing are used to heighten her cuteness, her image well kept and often flaunting what she has.
[sub]Characterization[/sub]
A seemingly friendly and optimistic young woman, Asuka is always the first to volunteer her assistance when asked. She wants to be the person you'd come to with every problem and will do everything she can to help. Her bubbly optimism is said to be either charming or outright annoying, but it varies from person to person. Not that she cares, of course, because her bright demeanor is enough to keep her going through the day. Besides, she's just a happy-go-lucky teenage girl, it's not like she's a scary person or anything. Her boundless energy is matched only by her charm, her desire to get to know people bordering on obsessive--but that's just how she is! The more friends she makes, the better! Appearances are everything to Asuka, and even if it comes off as insincere, she does whatever it takes to uphold the carefully crafted persona she has taken on. In some ways, she sees no problem with it; people like friendliness. She has absolutely nothing to lose from being polite and cheerful, so she may as well do her best anyway. Not once has she ever uttered a complaint after volunteering her help, either, so it's easy to take for granted. That said, there are times when that same smiling face openly speaks of her disdain or outright insulting people without batting an eyelash. It can be jarring the first time it's seen, and the apologetic followup could be convincing enough to think it's a one-time slip up. Even so, any attempts at delving into it are met with either tearful eyes or with a harsh response, a wall that refuses to break down erected as she insists on moving on.
[sub]Personal History[/sub]
The Sakurami family is a typical one: there is the supportive Kofuku (the doting father), hardworking Wakae (the loving mother), and their three daughters: the intelligent Kowaka (the eldest daughter), the talented Emiwa (the youngest daughter), and Asuka. Growing up as the middle child while her sisters were extraordinary came as a challenge: Kowaka's accelerated learning has led her to become one of the youngest doctors in the country, while Emiwa has made a name for herself in the music world with the violin. The manifestation of her Quirk led to her parents believing that Asuka would be inclined to the medical field as well, and as such often pushed her gently to follow in her sister's footsteps. That said, she found herself playing second fiddle to both her sisters, having to help both of them out whenever asked. Once she hit middle school, Asuka was tired of constantly being overshadowed and wanted nothing more than to strike out on her own. Despite this, she found herself average at most things, even if she did pick things up quickly. She had hoped that working on her Quirk would help, but even that wasn't nearly as good as her sister's. The only ray of hope came when she accompanied Kowaka to her job after the hospital had suffered some damage. To her surprise, she had been asked to help, and despite feeling like she didn't do much in comparison, she did find herself earning some genuine praise from helping. Even if she had been thanked as Kowaka's younger sister, it felt liberating to be recognized for her efforts. After that, Asuka had made up her mind: she was going to become a Hero. Of course, her parents expressed concern that the idea wasn't entirely thought through, but if it meant being recognized for her own merits, then Asuka would do whatever it took. She began putting more effort on her appearance, keeping herself as approachable as possible, making herself more cheerful and as charismatic as she could. She began to refine her Quirk, gluing herself to her sister's medical books in an effort to better understand. This would finally be her time to shine.
[sub]Character Development & Conceptualization[/sub]
In any other story, Sakurami would be that one background character who occasionally jumps onto her equally unnoticeable classmate before the scene changes to the main character. This is essentially her waking up and wanting to break out of that 'role' and try to be more notable; she's already the background character in her own life, and becoming a hero would (in her eyes) subvert that. Part of that process is also doing anything she can to stand out and get approval, her primary goal being to become as charismatic as possible to gain the approval of her peers. I think the irony in that is that she probably won't realize that her pushiness won't exactly endear her nor will being in a class with like-minded heroes-in-training make her stand out the way she wants to, but at the very least seeing her adapt to that would be fun. Ultimately, the point of the character is a typical "be yourself" with a dash of a look into the mind of someone wanting to step out on their own and underestimating both the work of a hero and themselves. Actually becoming someone noteworthy and properly handling the world of heroes is the end game for Asuka, as well as seeing the interactions and reactions from her fellow classmates. I'm hoping that bouncing off other characters and playing a support role will be fun.

Abilities & Talents

[sub]Quirk Type[/sub]
Emitter
[sub]Quirk Description[/sub]
First Aid
I can fix it!
Asuka's Quirk has manifested in a powerful regenerative quality which works with her cells cloning themselves rapidly to fix things. Her injuries heal supernaturally quickly, with minor cuts healing up in seconds. This also comes with the ability to apply that regenerative effect to others using special band-aids that she creates. The small, pink crosses in her eyes are a visual indication on whether or not her quirk is active; once she's completely exhausted her Quirk, the crosses disappear. The band-aids' primary usage is for healing wounds. The size of the band-aid and time of healing correlates to the extent of the injury and whether or not the target wishes to have their pain alleviated: wounds can heal slowly and more effectively with very little pain and no fatigue, or alternatively, they can heal quicker with zero pain relief and minor fatigue. Her limit manifests as her target's injuries are taken on herself, her natural healing slowing down immensely as she takes on their wounds. She can apply her band-aids on herself, but their effect isn't nearly as effective and takes much more time. Her healing is also ultimately dictated by her own knowledge as she has to understand how it works to properly heal (for example, she can heal broken bones, but has trouble with internal wounds). Asuka's band-aids can also be applied to inanimate objects to repair them as well. Most need bigger and multiple band-aids, though it isn't required to cover every single crack or broken part. The repairs are much quicker if every part is returned, otherwise it can take a while to repair broken objects due to her inexperience. At the moment, she can repair small objects and has patched up a wall once or twice, but she hopes to work on this aspect of hers in the future to be more effective when rescuing people and helping with rebuilding destroyed areas. [sub]*this quirk cannot cure a disease or purge a toxin, nor does it work on plants[/sub]
[sub]Other Talents & Attributes[/sub]
I Know The Human Body Inside And Out. Mostly. Once she got a hang of her quirk, she studied under her sister and took notes. As her healing is dependent on her own knowledge, it became a necessity to educate herself as much as possible. She carries a medical book with her for more complicated wounds. Of Course I Remember An excellent memory is key to utilizing the best of her ability without constantly referring to a textbook. That said, it helps to remember the names and faces of people, too. The more she knows, the more she can get people to remember her, right? Watch Out, I Know Kung Fu! Having to hold her own is a necessity in the life of a hero. Watching old kung fu movies helped spark the idea, too! Yeah, I Play A Little... Having constantly played piano accompaniment for Emiwa, Asuka had to learn to be decent at both it and singing. She has very little passion for her musical talent, as they are a constant reminder of her playing second fiddle to her younger sister.
