He is rarely able to converse with knight during his unconsciousness so most of their interaction is while he's awake, and only when he particularly stressed. When they are able to communicate, time seems to grind to a halt for Alistair, so long as he does not attempt to move or interact with the world. It is in this paused moment of his that he is able to compose himself, assess the situation, converse with Gareth if he so chooses, and then react to the negative stimuli accordingly. Archibald possesses increased physical capabilities as a result of his connection with Gareth, like the others, with his preference being towards speed and endurance. He believes a man of his standing should not have to be bothered with 'playing knight', and thus he cares little for combat-related training. He instead keeps himself in shape via morning runs which he rarely misses, leading to an abundance of stamina. Legacy Power and Roles: Alistair is tied with his own knight, Lucien, for the highest speed stat in the game. However, unlike Lucien, the rest of his data is nothing to write home about. He edges a lot of people out in endurance but is painfully average in every other regard that there is little reason to choose him over someone else, assuming one is only looking at stats. At first, If he was not the focus of the playthrough, many players would simply bench him from the get-go and he'd never see another fight so long as they could avoid it, yet once players realized his potential, he became a lot more popular. Adjure of a Captivating Knight - Birthplace: Caerleon Personality: Outwardly? Alistair maintains the air of a pompous prince with ambition. He considers himself to be a cut above most others, and is also somewhat of a perfectionist, accepting nothing less than the best. He desires little else as much as he wants the throne, a trait that naturally results in him despising those who would steal or deny him his rightful position. But despite his arrogance, he not usually unpleasant to be around. He is affable in most cases so long as nobody has offended him either by questioning his abilities or carelessly mentioning the politics surrounding the throne. He is even charismatic, able to draw people (particularly women) to him with relative ease. At the very least, his confidence is rarely thought to be unfounded. But in truth? The person now controlling Alistair's body is merely attempting to mimic the prince. Being thrust into a place he is not familiar with where his life is in danger, the new 'Alistair', Chadford, is much less composed. He relies heavily on assistance from the disembodied voices in his head to act 'normal', and will periodically break character with sufficient stress. Having been a popular football player who secretly aspired to be an actor, Chadford does not share too many qualities with the prince. He has a much less refined way of speech and isn't especially bright, either. He can usually improvise well, but has trouble doing so when his wellbeing is threatened. It wouldn't be entirely incorrect to label him as a coward, and his main motivation for seeking the throne is because he's led to believe it gives him the highest chance of survival out of all paths available to him. Chadford is not knowledgeable when it comes to Arthurian legend or even the game he has played. His experience with the game was essentially just the bad ends for Alistair, so he's developed a fear of the Successor or Mordred, Dia, as she is often responsible for his death in one way or another. Because of this, he's extremely cautious in how he approaches his conversations to her. On one hand, he knows he must retain some semblance of Alistair's cold attitude to her, but on the other, he doesn't want to piss her off. His instincts also tell him to get close to her, but since she's dangerous, doing that is... not easy. Synopsis:
As it becomes increasingly obvious that Arthur has no interest in him, Gareth becomes desperate to reclaim what is rightfully his by any means possible. His less severe plans all end in failure, leading him to resort to a coup which, unfortunately for him, also doesn't succeed. Hinted at over his appearances in the route, Alistair's disposition in regards to Dia improves. They are mostly small, subtle things such as being less prone to venting on her, to even showing concern in a rather tsun way. It is only at the end of the route that he gives up any sort of mask -- with his life now forever tied to the tower they are locked in and any notion of the throne simply preposterous, he reveals that despite this all, he no longer sees Dia as some disgusting woman. Instead, he tells her that she'll be his one remaining comfort.

Though he is clearly hesitant about it, Alistair ultimately sides against Lucien and Arthur during the war, seeing it as the only opportunity he has left for the throne. But when Dia, now a dragon, sets upon Caerleon, he agrees to the coalition and works against the Successor of Mordred. He has three different fates in this route. In the good route, he simply accepts that he'll never get the throne, and leaves, never to be seen again. In the bad route, he is killed offscreen sometime before Lucien's confrontation with Arthur. If Lucien is his knight on the playthrough, then his good end fate will change: Alistair's inability to move past Lucien's betrayal causes him to challenge the new king to a duel to the death, even knowing he has no chance. Naturally, his defeat is decisive. With his final breaths, his words are spiteful, bringing up how a 'knight' would have never taken every reason for their lord to live.
