His style of dressing can pretty loose. He's well-toned but it isn't obvious underneath his clothes. The boy's hair is of dark blonde color and brushed to the side. It's length reaching to the tail end of his end neck. His shoulders tend to be relaxed but he stands up with enough confidence that is apparent. Height 5'9 Personality Miles generally has a cool and laid-back attitude. He doesn't take things too seriously. In fact he prefers to keep things simple rather than complicated. That isn't to say he is a simpleton himself though. Far from it actually as he is more of a calculating type under the surface of his playful nature. He isn't afraid to speak his mind, even under the most stern of circumstances. This can get him in trouble from time to time but his breezy nature isn't undaunted even under those situations. His tongue-in-cheek nature generally is born of his nihilistic mindset. It's one in which he sees an almost comical meaninglessness in life. For that reason, his view on ethics and morals are very lenient. Still, he can't be said to be heartless. As despite his cold outlook he can't help but pity mankind's defiance of certain death. So much so that he can even feel inspired by it at times. In fact, Miles' wish is to have as much as a peaceful and relaxing life as he can before his number is up. He wants that lazy life for everyone. Because Miles' was good at sensing the unease of his family at home, he is naturally able to sense the unease of others. Thus he isn't truly able to live a carefree life if the anxiety of the Titans can bother others and in turn bother himself. That's why he wants to put off humanity's annihilation for as long as he can. Relaxed as he can be, Miles can certainly flip the switch into a more serious note when things desperately call for it. Such as in combat. At moments like this, he is certainly able to cut off any unnecessary sentimentalism. He doesn't also himself to be too riled up under pressure.
Branch Trainee
Biography Miles was raised within a family of butchers who slaughter animals and sell their flesh for different services. With his household consisting of his Uncle, Step-Aunt, Grandmother, Mother and Younger brother. His Father not being as home as much, actually being a member of the Survey Corps that investigates outside the walls. Because of this, Miles doesn't have much of memories of his father. With most of them being vague recollections as the years pass. A life without his father wasn't too bad in itself, but he would feel a sense of unease amongst his family members. Throughout his years through this household, Miles would work and cultivate his skills at his family's butcher shop. The blood and guts of animals became a common occurrence for him. Of course, those were just animals. Miles knew well the clear distinction between the lives of a human and an animal doomed for slaughter. Yet there was no way he could know what the fate of a family camping trip would be. Out in the woods where his family was camping, Miles was separated from them after walking off too far. Searching for his way back to safety, he found something unexpected....A group of people being attacked by a bear. From what he could gather, they seemed to be a family of three. Those three people were mauled to death right before his very eyes. He couldn't do anything in response to the horrible sight, only be stunned and paralyzed until it was all over. With the massacre finished, the bear turned it's eyes onto Miles. He knew that his fate was decided. However, Miles was surprised to see himself still alive. For whatever reason, the bear had not slaughtered the boy despite clearly making eye contact. It simply left him there alone with the mangled corpses of the people he didn't know. From that moment forward, Miles' view on life was greatly shifted. He never knew why his life was spared, but the reason didn't matter too much to him. Seeing the lives of people so casually tossed aside brought back the images of animals that his family would slaughter. The traumatic event caused Miles' world view to meld into one that saw mankind not too much unlike the other creatures that were on this planet. Every being has their time to live and to die at a certain point in time. That's an obvious fact everyone knows but that line of thinking was brought to there surface for him. To him, the only reason he survived that encounter was because fate had decided his time wasn't up yet. When all was said and done, he realized that the looming threat of the Titans was inevitable and all was pointless in existence. This sense of nihilism plagued Miles for quite some time. That is, until his father came home one day. When asked why he decided to join the Survey Corps instead of enjoying a peaceful life closer to his family, he answered with this, "I got bored of butchering animals, but butchering is my only skill. So I decided to butcher Titans, that's all it is,". Faced with such a ridiculous answer, Miles could only laugh. So what was life simply a joke? He pondered that. Then the next day his father was killed in combat by a Titan. It was a heartbreaking matter but this only cemented Miles' conclusion. That there was no meaning to any of it all. That no one truly had control over their own lives. Despite it all, Miles was able to smile. His nihilistic view had not changed, rather it was his attitude towards it all. He accepted the world for what it was, graciously so even. There was no escaping the onslaught of the Titans. He knew that, but he decided to join the Training Corps anyways. There was a simple reason why, because he knew even soon-to-be-dead animals fought to their very last breath. Affiliations / Relationships None of importance right now... Character Theme
