Much like those who he faced at the library, the criminals that he came across all had answered some mysterious call to a bounty placed on every heroes’ heads. For some of the men he came across, he successfully thwarted the targeted hero from biting it with minimal damage to himself. However, it was few and far in between. ”Tell me who ordered the bounty!” This had been another unfortunate case where the mutant had failed to get to the hero before the men had put a bullet into her skull. Not wanting to allow for her body to be further sullied as the men were beginning to take the corpse away, he had acted with swift but brutal justice that came close to the justice he dished out in the wastelands of the future. With broken bodies of unconscious bodies, he carried on looking at the one still conscious. Thwack! Another held-back slap from the mutant on the man’s face. ”Who made the order for you to target other heroes,” he demanded, the fires of fury smoldering in his eyes. No answer came. ”You don’t know how much shit you are in. Your buddies all unconscious from the same treatment while I’ve been asking the same question. As you are the last one still conscious and I have all the time in the world, I will get the answers from you by any means necessary.” It was an idle threat, but it’s all he had. Still no answer. Crack! The man screamed in pain as The Wanderer grabbed one of his fingers and folded it back on itself. He shook his head at the same pattern from the other criminals he faced. No one was going to answer him and seemed to think there were people worse than him that would allow for such silence. Still, he had to get the answers. Before he could repeat the question as the screams turned to whimpers, a low rumble droned in the air. He looked up when the light turned bright as something orange streaked above him. He heard the crash, which seemed to be some distance away from him, but the ground shook enough for him to know it was in the vicinity of the city. He let out a sigh as his eyes scowled at the man. ”Looks like time’s up.” Crack! He headbutted the guy square in the face, knocking him unconscious with a bloodied nose. Grabbing the four men in hand, he threw them out onto the open street. Then, making sure their dignity was still intact, he remasked the fallen hero and brought her out of the alley, placing her near a store. His eyes never left the smoke that rose up. Once the storekeeper was told to call the cops on the incident that happened here, he ran off in the direction of the possible threat.
While it took a bit of time to get there, The Wanderer looked on at the crash site from the top of the roof. The resulting object looked odd for him. It certainly appeared to look like a craft of some kind, just not anything he had seen in books before. However, it wasn’t the only thing he could see. With the shimmering waves in his psionic eyes, it didn’t take him long to realize that Voyager was here as well, talking to another being that had a similar signature in the waves. It was moments after he arrived that he witnessed Voyager collapse onto the ground, sending onlookers screaming away. He saw a sudden spike from the being’s psionic signature to indicate an ability being used. It didn’t seem fatal, however, as psionic energy was still present in the fallen hero. Even so, he didn’t take too kindly when the being picked her up and went back into the craft. ”Oh hell…” He reacted instinctively, forming the psionic energy around him. With reckless abandon, he jumped off the building and teleported to a space above the strange craft. As he fell towards it, he created his psionic blade and aimed to strike the top of the craft.
