Your character can be from minor sympathizers to an active rebel.

I'm almost finished the OOC and I'll be writing in a handful of factions.

You'll be able to associate yourself with one of those factions in your backstory so you don't have to be a generic sad little citizen if you want.

Ultimately faction ties or not I'll be trying to tie personal arcs into the story as I can see fit from your backstory or affiliation so you're not just picking a faction (or not) but you'll have something else to deal with along the way (in a fun way).

Regardless whatever you decide to write about some things like writing like you're the leader of the faction or some major player which may seem cool isn't practical for the story (for obvious reasons). I don't expect any of you cool cats or dogs to do that but it should be kept in mind if you associate with a faction in some way you're either associated or you are actually work for them there has to be some level of sympathy to the cause whatever you beliefs or interpretations of the 'rebellion' are.
