If you ask her why she wears such an outfit, she'll probably respond with something about 'breathable fabric'. If she doesn't have her glasses on, she is typically seen with a mask - her main peroggative for wearing this with her mission wear is due to training herself with a mask on, developing her own style almost - fighting blindly, gearing herself up and ready for her well...dark future. Kiku is rich in love for those who show it to her, typically never straying from the friend she [I]does[/I] get close to. Being an only child has secluded Kiku from being able to connect naturally with others, never sure how to approach. She typically finds herself being a bit of loner, but is always enthralled to be around the comfort of others. She can come off as a very silent observer until you get her to open up a little bit. Because of Kiku's diminishing eyesight, her other senses are heightening - this in turn has caused her to become more in tune with others emotions, so many see her a very empathetic person. One to always be a shoulder to cry on if need be, though don't overstay your welcome. She will eventually fold in on herself, not sure how to handle the constant company. Bringing up her eyes or height, is almost a sore subject for the young girl. She is embarrassed by both, and would prefer nobody to look her directly in the eyes to notice exactly how light they're becoming. Don't be offended if the poor girl looks the other way as she talks, a constant sign of anxiety being her fidgeted with her glasses during a conversation. For whatever reason - Kiku always take's the person of authority very seriously. When it came to school, she was almost a teachers pet. Ensuring every task was done and on time as well. This when put in a squad, leads her to being very submissive, and obedient when it comes to taking instruction placed upon her. She will never stray from a mission, no matter what the cost - always putting logic and reasoning before her own emotion. With an opponent - she is seen a cold force, never mincing words. She sees it as a waste of time, and would rather just in essence get down to business. As this change came about, so did one to two members of the Kurama family. Toru Kurama had married his Lavender powdered wife, Airi, a few years prior, the two leading a very happy life. Now, Airi was in labor and Toru was pretty enthralled over the breath of new life that was the creation of him and his wife. Toru had grown up within the Kurama Community, of course highly skilled in Genjutsu as it was the Clan's specialty. The two had met upon his arrival to the hospital one day after a mission, he wasn't seriously injured - just minor cuts, and checks for internal damage. She waltzed into the room after the doctor, standing quiet as Toru was examined. He was captured by her long lavender hair, and eyes to compliment - she was stern, it slightly intimidated him. She then opened her mouth to answer the dotor, and her voice was like silk to him. It was even after his departure from the hospital, a week later - he found himself still wondering about the mystery girl that he didn't have the courage to ask her name. He had made his way back to the hospital, flowers in hand. This was out of nature for Toru, yes he was a kindhearted man, respectful, loyal to his comrades. But Toru never had interest in women, or at least in letting them interfere with his life. He made his ways of course through the brothels, and such during his time off in missions, or when he was away. But the concept of love, and marriage was a far off idea for the man. But this woman, this woman - in particular was different. He ended up getting her called to the front of the hospital, most of the nurses beaming over how 'cute' Toru was being - not even knowing the girl and wanting to ask her out. He stumbled over his words, trying to do so, and she finished the sentence for him. In answer form. "Go out with you," Airi beamed, and grabbed the flowers pressing them to her face, Toru was a love sick dog, "Motu's - 8pm". The young nurse turned on her heel and waved, "See you then" In essence, the two made it through all trials and tribulations - which actually wasn't much for the two. Airi was a stern woman, intelligent, could hold a conversation with Toru, and actually made him laugh. And now, she was making him cry with the joy of a life he never wanted in the first place. Though thinking on it, he may have a few bastard children somewhere.... Kiku came into the world - not inheriting a bit of the Kurama Clan's brunette hair, or eyes. Instead, she was a spitting image of her beautiful mother. Her head was full of deep purple hair, and her eyes only a shade lighter, but so wide and ready to see the world it seemed. He was the first to hold her, and almost ran around the hospital with her to show off his new pride and joy in life. And that she was. Of course, the man wanted a little boy - but his little girl was much more than could be the eye. The moment she was coherent to slightly understand the life of a Ninja, she wanted to become one. Seeing her father come home in mission gear occasionally, she'd ask about his travels, intently listening to the stories he had to tell her. Always wide-eyed in amazement at her father, she wanted to be just like him. So, she began to bug him, and wanted to train - Toru was in awe that his barely 5 year old was wanting to 'train'. Toru decided that if Kiku really wanted it, she'd stick with - she trained her he did. He continued to surprise her with her inhibition, and will of fire she had to learn. He trained her in Taijutsu mostly until she was 8 - and everything halted as this point in time. Fear set in for the loving parents, as they watched their child fall ill. Their pain saddened even more when she couldn't leave her bed for close to two months. Though, it was only another week after the 2 month period of her illness that she began to recover at an alarming rate. Finally sitting up, walking, eating full foods, keeping fluids down. The doctor had earlier assessed it was a common flu - but Kiku's body wasn't properly fighting it off. It was also noted that no medicines were helping as well. Her body eventually fought it off, but it did take something from her. Her eyesight. Upon finally being mobile again, the girl complained of blurry vision, and headaches. Airi being a nurse, rushed her to the hospital - and the news was given that the girl was going blind. Glasses would fix the situation, but by her 30's she'd be completely blind. Kiku was old enough to understand this situation, and it did sadden her. Toru, and Airi tried their best to keep the girl in good spirits, but Kiku was more scared than sad to never see again. It was one day, that her mother and her got into an argument when she was 9 - something clicked in the young girl. A small voice appeared, and it ended up causing her to hurt her mother. Placing her mother under a Gen, she sent her mother walking to the counter, grabbing a knife, and slicing her wrist. The shriek of pain, was heard by her father who entered the room and quickly assessed the situation. Realizing his daughter had the affinity for the Kurama Clan's Genjutsu specialty, but also...she seemed to have gotten the Kekkai Genkai. Only every few generations, one Clan member would surpass all other's - which was astounding, and terrifying due to the nature of what this Gen could do. Actually ignore its opponents. She was born behind the very small clan compound that was attached to the outer West side of Amegakure established only 80 years ago. The Clan compound holds a very traditional look - upon entering its gate, you are greeted with the Kazami Theatre, high chance you've been here as a child or in your adulthood for some entertainment. Beyond that is the Clan member homes, still retaining the traditional theme There about about 30 clan members, each one works or has some part in dealing with the theatre. It ranges from performing, working front of house, back of house, or handyman. Miyako, ended up finding a love in traditional fan dancing, and soon would be seen performing there in her early childhood till she joined the Academy. Miyako practiced and studied for years on the art of it, she was mesmerized by the movements. Her parents happily obliged in letting her learn, and preform at the Theatre - the Kazami clan is known for their very docile way of life, and supportive upbringing of their youth - a clan with little to no problems. But they are also known for not producing anything past a Chunin, or Shinobi that dies in battle. The Clan holds no high regard to really anyone in Amegakure - especially the higher authorities of the Village. They had all been written off as numbers on the battle field. Little did Miyako know that she would be the one to begin to lead the Clan to a brighter more noble future. Of course, working at the Theatre meant Miyako had watched plenty of plays all about different subjects. This is what at a young age, began to fuel her imagination and begin her snowball into the superstitious world. Judging the weather by her shoes, avoiding certain words, numbers began to hold a weight to her. But really, her interest would be captured more by the plays of Shinobis and their lives, some ended happily - others not so much. But the spirit portrayed and tales told in the plays would grip her heart. So much so that she would ask to join the Academy and of course - her loving family would say yes. So, off she went to the Academy - a piece of paper placed into the palms of her hands, split in half only to begin her journey into the life of a Futon user. Miyako would find herself excelling in all written aspects of the Academy - Futon Release coming very natural to her and it seemed she excelled there too. The only thing she truly struggled in was Taijutsu, but to her - it wasn't anything a little practice could fix. Or reading. If she wasn't studying, she was training - but more so she always had her prim and proper little nose stuck into a book on anything she could get that would help her understand how to better control herself, learn, grow. Yanno, bookworm stuff. Anyways - it would be halfway through her 1st year that she would be pulled out of the classroom and tested in a room solo dolo. Examiners watching her every move as she tested, trying to figure out how she was getting perfect scores on every test. It didn't take much longer for a consensus and realization that the girl had a damn near perfect photographic memory. Some things were hazy to her, she couldn't always name the book or author, but she was pretty close at reciting facts verbatim. This was noted, and kept in mind as she then was under a very small watch through the rest of her Academy days. But lets just say, nobody was holding their breath for the Kazami girl. Miyako would essentially breeze by in the Academy, top of her class - smarty pants, some perceived her to be a teachers pet as well. Potato, tomato. One girl would consistently make little remarks towards her - last name, Koko; this would ignite a small rivalry of brains vs brawns for the remainder of her Academy days. The two always being neck-n-neck in every training activity - though admittedly Koko prevailed in anything Taijutsu related. This wasn't exactly a bad thing between the two - but it would grow more as they got older, then graduated and ...became placed on the same team. The two, now older, would quip at each other quiet a bit - leaving their poor teammate Sora to come in and be a mediatory. Poor soul. It would be during the Genin exams that the Kunoichi would be begin to explore a new avenue as she pushed herself - the use of Katon. But, why not pair her Primary release with it? So she did - experimenting day and night between to the two, trying to find some perfect balance to use them in conjunction. What would be born again to the world - was a Scorch User. The second documented in over 150 years. Miyako in the next few years would begin to continually practice the technique, trying to find any and all lore, docuements..anything on Scorch Release. But nothing more would come to the table than some old tales and a basic fundamental understanding of it. It would be her duty - if she so chose it - to explore the world of Scorch Release further, and well of course she chose it. From awakening/learning this new Kekkai Genkai - she was beginning to gain some attention. Amusing the young girl to see how pleased her Clan was of her. It seemed she had quickly climbed to the top, but the top was in comparison to....a small hill for the Clan. Ahhhh, but as life seems all fine and dandy - it can kick you in the ass real quick with a life lesson. Dattebayo. One that personally Miyako would never forget, the emotion would flood her life for years to come. Guilt. Team 13 (Miyako/Koko/Sora) would be heading out on a C-Rank mission, a common one it seemed these days - a menace to a small village. The team would go in and extract the problem deemed any means necessary. To keep things simple and short - the mission was unsuccessful, due to a miscommunication and lapse in judgement. It would ultimately cost Sora his life. The menace that took his life would escape into the still of the night, leaving behind the scene of a slowly dying Chunin. Who dreamed of his future in such a bright light that he didn't realize it would be the end of the tunnel kind of light. He of course tried to sway the girls into believing it wasn't their fault, that he shouldn't have gone forth and tried to tackle on the man himself. Some sweet parting words to the two Kunoichi, and his last breath would be taken at a small village located to the North-West of Amegakure. His body would be brought back the next morning and the death would get deemed as accidental - his body being laid to rest later that day. The weather of course rained down during the funeral, nothing out of the oridinary. It didn't sadden the moment anymore for Miyako, her face straight and hollow of all emotion. Her memories replaying in her mind over and over of the situation that unfolded to result in Sora's death. After his funeral - Miyako and Koko would become a little bit closer their small rivalry dropping and beginning to work together more. It wasn't but a few months after the death of Sora that their new teammate would make his debut as the newest 3rd member. Sakana. A 14 year old who showed some kind of promise and was already placed into their Chunin team - "This isn't even logical, he's only 14! Can he be even nearly as skilled or prepared as us?!" Miyako would cry to their Sensei, the sting of someone replacing Sora clearly taking hold on her emotions. "How many missions has he been on? Who even are you?!" She would ask him, and well...blahblah. The 3 would be the new Team 13 - Miyako soon to drop any and all harsh comments as she saw how committed Sakana was to passing his Chunin exams and of course his skill (uwu). The three quickly learned to form and function properly as a cell - Miyako taking the steps to properly communicate to each member of her group. Team 13 would excel past all other teams, working together for about a year and half before disbanding as they all became Jonin roughly around the same time. Miyako still keeping tabs with the two, Sakana being the one less enthralled by her random check ins. Koko seemed used to it these days. Now fast forwarding to present day - Miyako has chosen to take on her own team - guide and teach the youth of Amegakure! What could be better than to spread the wealth of knowledge, and techniques to eager and brimming with potential - Genin!? Well...we'll see. For some subjects, depending on how long it has been since reading/studying said subject, it could take her a while to retrieve it from memory - and usually its a very hazy rendition. If she wants an answer, she'll immediately ask the question - people aren't as open and easy to read as books are. As to them, and Amegakure, it was only but a regular day. The Sasaki Clan for generations has inhabited the Amegakure Temple and been seen as its keepers. This Clan is known specifically for the brutal treatment the youth receive during their training before, during and sometimes even after the Academy. It is believed by the Clan though, that in order to be strong physically - you must also show you are mentally strong. So meditation is taught at an early age, and pressed throughout the remainder of the years. This would be Amaya's childhood. As soon as she was able to run and form a few sentences - her mornings and afternoons would consist of meditation and chants. Of course this is not exactly what any child wants to do, sit still for hours on end and try to delve into their mind. But a slap on the wrists or back of the head would keep a child in place once they believed they were doing something wrong. It was a herd mentality - some would say. The youth of the Sasaki Clan just followed whatever the elders did blindly since they were not exposed to much else in the world. Sitting sidelines and watching them talk and "heal" Villagers. They were known for keeping a mist in certain halls and rooms that had a calming effect over those that visited - this would later be taught to Amaya after she developed Boil Release. There was one morning where she and the other 3 kids her age didn't do their afternoon meditation; instead they were brought to a room they'd never seen before. Here there were clansmen training with Elders, or each other. The age range was pretty wide and so were Amaya's eyes. Immediately she listened to everything their Elder was saying to them - he basically told them they had two options in this Clan "Stay and reside in the Temple, giving peace to the ill minds that walk in....or you can enter the Academy. Do know, that this path is not for everyone..". She didn't care. Amaya knew in her heart that she could do this, and didn't want to end up as a Temple Maiden. Sure meditation was nice, but her soul craved something else. But the more she became accustomed to it, the easier her days became and she started to shine through. The Academy was a different beast to conquer for Amaya - she had no idea how to really connect with any of the other students there. She came to realized that not everyone in the Academy cared to talk on these things, and that Temple life really narrowed her experiences down. Edmund was 15 years old when his father drove his car off the side of a mountain, drunk, and driving home late at night. They did everything in their power to protect her from the sad sight that was her mother. She was given everything she ever needed and wanted, and was always given the proper amount of attention. Jackson owned his own autobody shop only a few miles down the road from his parents house. When she was younger Riley got the choice of either coming to work, or hanging out with Memaw and Papaw, usually she chose to go with her father. Getting under all the cars, and turning the wrenches for him, watching the cool cars come in really caught her attention. But what made the girl stop in her tracks? Motorcycles. She loved the way people looked when they rode in on them, their sound. Really everything. When she was younger, she could never quite put her finger on it. But now of age, she can confidently say it was the freedom she saw expressed by those that rode the mechanical steeds. She knew one day instead of sitting passenger that she'd be the one driving. Well, years passed by and many seasons came and went. On her 18th birthday, promising her father she would graduate, Riley received her first motorcycle. It was the shell of a rather old school Harley Bobber. It'd be her first project upon entering her Dad's shop as a mechanic, just so long as she promised now...to do work and then work on the bike in her free time. Of course she was more than obliged to do so, and couldn't even believe she was a mechanic at her fathers shop. Most of her classmates went off to do things such as become doctors, actors/actress', and lord knows what else. Riley decided to become a mechanic. Many of her teachers urged her to do something else, many using sayings such as "Well that pretty face can get you anywhere you want". To which she'd retort "I don't want any of those things than to own a bike and ride across America. That's what I want". So nothing and no one came in the way of these dreams, which she finally achieved at the ripe age of 18. It didn't take her very to long to fix the bike, but as everything in her life was shining gold, fate would have it and her Memaw fell ill. Putting a halt on everything in her life. For years her Memaw would battle lung cancer, they all urged her to stop smoking years ago but she old bat was so stubborn. "I'm on the road to heaven anyways! I'll do what I please!" Her father always insisted Riley got her attitude from her Memaw, and not the older she became the more she was able to see it. Memaw put up the good fight for years to come, and Riley could either be found at work or home with her Grandparents cooking and cleaning for them. Her Pepaw was a man that couldn't be deterred and was usually found outside making the gardens look however Memaw wanted, he loved her so much he'd do anything that woman asked. They waited on her hand and foot until one morning in the winter, Memaw didn't wake up from going to bed the night before. This was when Riley was 24 and her world was shook for years to come after that. The gardens were still tended too, and life moved on rightfully so after her passing. But there was one less place at the dinner table that was filled with her delicious cooking. Thankfully she had taught Riley many of the family recipes so she was able to cook all the family goodies for holidays, but it wasn't the same with out her croaking at Pepaw to slow down on the beers at dinner, or berate Jackson with questions about why he wouldn't remarry. It seemed to become a bit more silent in the household, but the love and support only grew from there. Finally four years later, Riley felt that her home life was a bit more stable these days. Her Grandfather was in good health, and her fathers Autobody shop was doing more business than ever. He had so many hired hands now, including Pepaw who worked the counter, that she felt comfortable enough to take her trip across and around the US. Packing her things, and having her last breakfast with her family. Riley head out on the open road on her first bike that her father gave to her. A backpack full of necessities, bike stocked and ready to go. She set out on the open road heading up North to New York for one stop, she spent about a month traveling to get there. Three years after living with him he proposed, another three years later - his true colors began to come out. Though he would usually make snarky comments to her while he was drunk, they became more frequent and hurtful. From insults to her intelligence, to eventually low blows at her family. Which is where this would begin to take a toll on her and her feelings towards the man. Her family was everything to her, they worked hard and made it possible for her to grow up. But he was also making it possible for her to live the life she wanted. Gabriella had no idea what to do. She was able to find a job, but it was as a manager in a higher end retail clothing outlet that her fiance found her a job in. Slowly over a few months she began to save every penny she could, and collecting all the jewelry she could pawn in the future. At last the day came, well night rather, where she took her chance and disappeared. Boston was a good enough distance away, and would become her new home. All alone at the age of 27, Gabriella had to start her way from the ground up. Her biggest struggle was finding a place to live at first - moving from hotel to hotel till finally she found herself a loft inside the city. Her luck peeked as right before she found her new home, she found a job inside a Sephora as a makeup consult. She had no traumatic life incident that caused her to be a bit more reserved than others, just how she's always been. When it comes to elders and superiors Rosa is the most polite person, making sure to use every ounce of respect she can give. Many might call this 'brown nosing' in the right situation. Though she doesn't end these pleasantries to her coworkers, you can also find her extending her respect out to them as well. Aside from this, Rosa pushes herself to constantly be on top and be the best - even if it means over stepping a boundary. Failing this internship isn't an option for her. When a trauma busts through the hospital doors, Rosa is usually first on the scene. Stressful situations have always been meant with a calm and level head - which is why she felt she would be best in surgery. Nothing exactly caused her to squirm in disgust, everything was met with a brimming and bright interest. Love has always been fleeting for her, mainly because of her dominating and controlling personality. Wanting to be the one slightly in charge, and making all the decisions. Her family was middle-class, so she never experienced any financial hardships. Her parents always ensuring that their children got everything they needed to enjoy their time whilst growing up. Rosa was the middle child of 3. Damien was her older brother at 31, and Jared her younger at 23. Growing up with two brothers is believed to be the reason that Rosa is a bit more forward with her attitude - yours would be too if you had the most annoying brothers in the world. After all the siblings grew older, each of them started to choose their paths. Damien wanted to become a Lawyer, Rosa a Med Lab Technician, and Jared a Pro Football player. Out of the three, Jared didn't exactly see anything past being a Pro Football player, so the other two just kinda always encouraged him knowing it was a likely dead ended career....especially when you weren't all that good at football. Upon entering her first year of College - Rosa would meet her future fiancé, Jorge. The two would court for about a year, and date few a few years after that. He would pop the question a week before graduation, and a week before she got the news that she was accepted at a hospital out west. Despite this being the worst hardship she ever had to endure in her life - the arguing of whether she would go or not. It was decided that Jorge would meet her out there eventually. As his schooling and preaccepted internship at a Lawyers Office would find him trapped in Philly for another few years. Also, what would ya know - Rosa was accepted at CMH as a part time Phlebotomist/Full Time MLT. She mainly found herself in the Lab testing every kind of Human secretion there is. But her interest changed quickly, shortly after she joined CMH. Watching the surgeons and occasionally being the room during consults as she drew blood - led to the discovery that she wanted to become a Surgeon.
