A preference for smirks, grins, or nothing at all has led her to be perceived as a generally prickly person even though she usually prefers to keep to herself. When not in her school uniform, she prefers somewhat structured but loose clothing, tending towards booties, jeans, and zipped and hooded jackets. She can often be found looking the part of the studious student in the library with a bun and glasses, but on weekends she opts for contacts and loose hair.
Background:
Being the only child of an upper middle class Tokyo family, Alice was raised with an education-first mentality driven by her busy parents’ hope that their child might have even more success than themselves. Though she mostly met their expectations, testing into the best middle school, then an excellent international high school, her hard work did come with social setbacks in that she was never well-liked by her peers. What started as a few canceled plans in favor of studying turned into a reputation for being a rather unapproachable person, and, being equal parts unable and unwilling to try and change public perception, Alice instead leaned into it, solidifying her place in school as the icy academic. Alice discovered the game Digimon Tamers in early high school. Some of her classmates had been playing it, and, as the hopeful freshman wanting to change her reputation with something like a high school debut, she’d tried it out after school in hopes of finding some common ground with her peers. Instead, she found herself wrapped up by the game itself, becoming invested in her character, Doru, and his quest to grow stronger and perhaps discover himself. Though her plan to befriend a few of her peers failed, she made new friends online, and that was almost enough.
Personality:
Cynical and sharp-tongued, Alice has a habit of speaking her thoughts without regard for others’ feelings. Though she might appear overly critical or even disdainful, she usually doesn’t mean to be, and she tries her best to be kind and loyal to those she cares for. The problem, then, is that it’s been a long time since she’d had to try and truly keep a friend. Hurting feelings online is a lot different than hurting them in person, as she will discover, and her words are sometimes too harsh for her thoughts. Under her irritable exterior, Alice is actually rather insecure. Though she’s risen up to her parents’ expectations when it mattered, it’s the failures that have stuck with her, driving her to doubt herself whenever there are stakes. Making her parents happy was satisfying, but getting her scores back never was, and she lives in fear of the day she might not make the cut. For him, being confident doesn’t get in the way of hearing others out, and he values both fairness and loyalty. When the going gets tough, Doru is willing to get going, even if that means taking up the flag and fighting against the odds. Alice, in Dorumon’s perspective, is a rather interesting person. He picks up on her insecurities but doesn’t know what to make of them, being aware of and secure in his capabilities and limits. Their bond is a tenuous one where Arisu will learn to trust and rely on him, even too much at times. Not being afraid to take the lead when Alice shaken by doubt will lead Dorumon to develop a rather independent streak, but he hopes that one day Alice might step up to the mantle herself.
Digivolution Line:
Dorimon || Dorumon || Dorugamon || Doruguremon || Dorugoramon

Cavan Maynard

Male | 18 |
O11ie

 Appearance:
Tall, lean, and often sporting scrapes and bandages, Cavan doesn’t come off as an approachable person, if only because his sharp features don’t look kind. When he smiles, though, the edges of his features smooth, and actual conversation will see him grinning sooner or later. To strangers, he can seem carefree and aloof, being more willing to participate in a conversation than start one. His wardrobe complements his personality, consisting of vintage band tees, cargo shorts, and chinos. Layering choice sweatshirts and hoodies is his main form of defense against New England winters, and he can usually be found sporting a pair of well-worn skate shoes with a pair of headphones on his head and a sports bag slung around his shoulder.
Background:
A childhood in the suburbs of New York lent itself to an adolescence on asphalt as Cavan grew to favor wheels over books and pencils. Being raised in a working-class family living nearly paycheck to paycheck meant having parents with early mornings and late nights, but his parents strived to make it work, and for all intents and purposes they’d succeeded: They’d seen Cavan’s older brother off to an Ivy League and secured his younger sister a spot in a well-ranked private school in the area, courtesy of his mother’s secretarial job at the school. Cavan, on the other hand, stood out precisely because he didn’t. He had no goals, no aspiration or desire to further his education. He was a C student on a good day, and he never missed an opportunity to cut class. The threat of being held behind was one of his only motivators when it came to school. Expulsion was the other. Past graduation, though, Cavan doesn’t have many plans. Community college, perhaps, and maybe helping out in his father’s auto repair shop. After that, it’s anyone’s guess. Cavan got into Digimon Tamers because his friends were playing it, but he ended up sticking around for longer than any of them. Though he’s been on less recently, he still logs a few hours every week, sometimes only to chat with friends in the guild. To him, it’s an appreciated escape that he’s begun to phase out of, but which he keeps returning to out of habit and nostalgia.
Personality:
Laid-back and calm, Cavan takes things as they come, doing as he wants, when he wants. Though not a hugely talkative person, he enjoys both the quiet and the company of others, and he’s comfortable with both listening and speaking if the situation is right. His confidence in himself is rather simple, being based on his beliefs that people are all equal unless there are extenuating circumstances. Though he dislikes conflict and would prefer to adapt rather than argue for change, he is willing to stand up for what he believes in, being a righteous person at heart. That said, he prefers playing mediator in conflicts if he has to get involved at all. His even temperament lends itself to his general disposition, and he’s a believer of second chances, forgiveness, and the general good in people.

[sub]
Black Gabumon
[/sub]

[sub]
Male | "Bax" | Beast | Virus
[/sub] Personality:
Rash and stubborn, Bax hides his insecurities behind fangs and claws, preferring to return everything with glares, lest he is deemed an easy target. Being outed by his original pack for being a “defect” led to an early life of running and scavenging, and he’s bounced between his Baby and Rookie stages more times than he can count. He wants to grow stronger, but he also fears that he may not be strong enough to chase such a dream. Because of this, Cavan often feels like a rock to him. Though Bax will never understand how humans can be confident despite their utter lack of strength, he appreciates how easily Cavan carries himself and admires how comfortable he is in his own skin. Bax’s attachment to him shows itself in his protectiveness, which may at times be better termed as possessiveness, and he hopes to one day be able to pay Cavan back for his kindness.
Digivolution Line:
Tunomon || Gabumon (Black) || Garurumon (Black) || Weregarurumon (Black) || Metal Garurumon (Black)

Afton Reimer

Female | “Effie” | 17 |
Ephie

 Appearance:
A head of mid-length purple hair sits atop Afton’s lean, almost frail frame. Along with her height, these traits make most people do a double take, but Afton’s choice of dress—platform boots and oversized clothing that is muted but generally colorful—takes it to another level. The only thing keeping her statement earrings from sending her whole look into the realm of tacky fashion is her face, which is oftentimes so free of emotion that it in itself can be jarring. At times, inflections of possible emotions may glance across her features, but for the most part, her face is as blank as her voice is clear. She delivers her words with a flat tone, relying on their content to get her meaning across, and can lead strangers to perceive her as a rather apathetic person.
Background:
Dreamy Los Angeles breeds people of all sorts, including young girls raised by a single fathers after their mothers walk out on them. To Afton, the world lost its glitz and glimmer a long time ago, and she carries through her days with general indifference, content to see where life takes her. Her days in school are split between her schoolwork and extracurriculars, with much more time and care going into the latter than the former. Setting a school record in cross-country is what she’s known in the halls, and she also does well as a long-distance runner on the track and field team. Past those bullet points are the footnotes of being a loyal student of the school’s art program and a surprisingly good albeit unmotivated student. Though she’s never been the most social, people have always seemed to gravitate towards her before she ends up pushing them away, and despite her having no attachment to anyone, she usually finds herself sitting with one group or another during lunch. She’s a drifter in the truest sense of the word, and even the people she does end up talking to are better termed acquaintances than friends. Outside of school, Afton spends a decent amount of time helping her dad out with his elementary school basketball team. Her endless patience has been a hit with the kids, and they make it a point to try and get her to crack a smile every now and then. Besides that, she occasionally plays a game called Digimon Tamers, which she spent a vast amount of time on in the past. Though she tended to keep to herself even in the multiplayer game, she did eventually join a guild, if only because she’d gotten bored with everything else. The social aspect of the game never really appealed to her, but hasn’t ruled everyone she’s met out as airheads either.
Personality:
Afton’s calm demeanor stems from an unshakable disinterest. That is, she isn’t interested in much at all. She checks all the boxes and fulfills all the requirements, but she’ll sooner sit and stare off into space than attempt to engage herself in something new. To a stranger, she can easily seem like a high-functioning person, waking up early to run and heading to bed at nine with all her homework completed, but she does only what is expected of her, never more. There are times when she performs well, like during sports meets or on class exams, but none of those accomplishments inspire any amount of passion in her. Despite her general apathy, however, Afton isn’t a thoughtless person. She’s actually extremely judgemental, and this, in many ways, is what lays the foundation for the rest of her personality. To her, the world is black and white, and even grey areas can be sorted into one category or the other at the end of the day. Her snap judgements leave no room for mystery, and contradictions and needed amendments to previously made judgements are quickly found and fixed. Taking things in stride means she accepts new information readily, which keeps surprise to a minimum, even when it’s called for. However, because she makes judgements so quickly, she tends to quickly become disinterested in things, shunning things at first glance at times. Her judgements aren’t infallible, but she isn’t so close-minded that she’s not open to changing them. It’s simply a matter of her making and acting on a judgement before contradictory information comes up, though Afton has found that she’s rarely wrong. Her blunt, often insensitive answers are a result of multiple snap judgements headed by an unwillingness to put others before herself. She’s not easy to get along with—never planned on being easy to get along with—and she sees nothing wrong with that.

[sub]
Monodramon
[/sub]

[sub]
Male | Dragon | Vaccine
[/sub] Personality:
Monodramon is out for himself and himself only, and he’s not above trodding on those weaker if needed. He was the strongest of his clutch, and he got his way when he wanted. As a result, he was fed the most, praised the most. This fostered a brand of arrogant confidence that fuels his drive for strength since he believes that the world is servant to the strong. Worse than his strongly self-centered mode of thinking is his penchant for picking on those weaker than him, which he sees no issue with. He is, however, rather immature, and his mood is easily influenced by others depending on the situation. When it comes to Afton, Monodramon is a bit confused himself. The girl is an enigma to him, seeming simultaneously strong yet weak in form, speaking with conviction despite seeming utterly interested in what might happen either way. Where Monodramon aspires to be a leader, Afton is a leader, directing him without any shred of doubt that he might follow. And he does, much to his own surprise. He’s constantly surprised that he’s still following the girl around, but something about her inspires him, challenges his belief that strength might only be in form.
Digivolution Line:
Hopmon || Monodramon ||| Cyberdramon || Justimon
