She cut her dirty blond hair short, letting it hand just a few inches below her jawline. It surprised her how well it framed her face and enhanced her plain looks. She wears clear frame glasses for her nearsightedness because contacts intimidate her. While she'll never be a beauty queen, Samantha still manages a little eyeshadow and lip gloss. Her favorite outfits aim for comfort over attractiveness or sex allure. Loose enough for even movement, but tighten to avoid snagging or pull. Jeans are her ideal pants. She'll put on the occasional sweats when she wants something different. Finish it off with some tennis shoes, and she's ready for her nightly work as an exhibit designer. In Demonic form: HT: 5’10” Eye: Pale Yellow, Feline WT: Very Light Skin: Red Hair: Black Markings: None Built: Curvy After unwillingly donating blood to a ritual, Samantha’s appearance can alter into a demonic form of herself. Her hair grows out past her shoulder blades and turns completely black, absorbing all light shining upon it. She has larger than normal canine teeth adding to her intimating appearance. The skin darkens and turns red with black strips along the upper arms. A prehensile tail with a spade tip extends from her tail bone. Horns curve around her slightly pointed ears as all color drains from her eyes, leaving them a very pale yellow. Her feet taper off into hooves on her toes making using shoes difficult.
{Equipment and Personal Belongings}
This is likely not everything, but I don't want to list literally all the mundane things she's got. It wouldn't be helpful. Purse filled with essentials.

Credit Card
License
Car Keys
Cell Phone
Pepper Spray
Photos, wallet size, of her parents and siblings
Spare glasses
Spare change and cash (about 20 bucks)
Feminine essentials: Make-up, hygiene, etc.
Vehicle: preowned ford truck with different colored doors.

Cans of paint
Paint brushes
Ladder
Rope
Dummies or props she needs to haul around
Spare tire x2
Home: a rental apartment.

Preowned basic living set: Sofa, chairs, coffee table, bed, etc.
Older Laptop and router
Trunk with good dishes, jewelry (about 1-2 heirlooms), DVD collection and photo album.
A small counter herb garden
Cat named Rufus. Black stray turned pampered house pet.

{Physical}
Basic Combative Skills (TBA) Farther along in the IC, Samantha will learn the basics in combat and how to defend herself. It will be sped up depending on the story’s needs for tension and allies that stick around to help her. For now, she’s got the best fighting skills you can have on instinct and no education.
{Superpowers}
Demonic Taint: Samantha can shift between human and demon forms at will. Her demonic form goes by the name of Hexfire, but she has no idea why or where it came from. Each of her forms have their strengths and weaknesses, but it's obvious which this one is better at combat. For those who have experienced the aura of demons before, she reads as demonic or unnatural no matter the form. Fire Proof: In her demonic form. Samantha is completely fire proof. She can easily walk through fire and come out the same way she went in. Only a small smell of brimstone on her skin. This includes natural and magical fire. When fire comes into contact with her skin or anything on it, the fire will extinguish with a loud hiss. Fire Manipulation/Magic: Hexfire can manipulate or control fire she makes. This includes, but not limited to:

Creating Simple shapes
Shoot Fireballs/streaks
Create Heat for Warmth
Creating Walls
Using it to Attack or Protect herself
Illuminate the Darkness
Creating a Fire Source
Make it Grow in Strength or Weaken, Extinguishing it
Claws: When on the offense and in close range, Hexfire can fuse long black nails into her fingers. They are extremely sharp and able to cut through anything a sword could. If they break, it will take a short period to grow back. Supernatural Agility, Flexibility, and Reaction Speed: Hexfire has above human speed, agility, and reaction speed, allowing her to avoid attacks. More specifically those in close range combat. Over all, she's designed to avoid damage, stay back, and cause large amounts of damage.
{Limitations}
Demonic Taint: Through she can shift between forms, there’s some side effects. The most notable one is that she has trouble controlling her shifts. During extreme emotional or mental stress, Samantha can lose control of her form. This can cause random shifts from human to demon or vice versa at the worst moments. While in this form, certain items can hurt. Examples of this is any item with a strong belief. This belief has to stem from the user and be directed at her. These objects can leave burns behind that will follow her into human. Depending on the severity, if they are let untreated (while in human form) then she could die. Fire-Proof: This ability is only limited to herself and what she's wearing. She can't bestow it on others and even trying to shield them completely from the effects is difficult. Fire Manipulation/Magic: Her manipulation is limited to flame and fire she creates. Any outside fire isn't within her ability to influence, including magical. She has to be conscious to keep the fire/flames going. Once knocked out or unable to focus, they will extinguish instantly. If she's unaware, her fires can be extinguished by normal means. Suffocating it, let it burn out, or water to list a few methods. Claws: She is unable to cut through anything tough as metal, stone, or anything a sword couldn't. Human Weakness: While in her human form, Samantha is at her most vulnerable. She is considered human with those weaknesses. This includes squishy, unable to cast fire magic, and more. Any enemies attacking her in this form can gain a dangerous advantage. Glass Cannon: The bad part about her skillet, she is a glass cannon. Taking heavy damage will affect her performance and can put her down quickly. Her durability has its limits and closer to human than demons. One good area effect attack or powerful hit can cripple her, even kill her if it’s strong enough.

{Personality}
Positive Traits Creative/Nerdy: Samantha enjoys letting out her creativity. During one of her projects, she uses research over real history to inspire and guide her themes. There's something satisfying about understanding then sparking visitors to explore them. Her favorite ones tend to edge on what most consider to be nerdy interests. The occult, fantasy, and myths to list a few. Proud in her Work: She takes pride in her work and the results she gives. Rarely will she turn something in that's only half done or has a very wobbly base. When she works on a project, her whole heart goes into producing a story within the exhibit. While not everyone is impress, she smiles whenever she hears praise on one. Kind: She deeply cares and is loyal to her friends and family. Willing to put her life on hold just to help them. This has caused some issues time to time with her boss or family. Often resulting in her exclusion from important or planned events. Samantha honestly believes in doing onto others as she wants to be done to her. This is why she rarely lets her temper get the better of her or treat someone like dirt. Granted, this isn't expected from others. Negative Traits Stress Ball: Stress happens to be a part of Samantha's job in the form of deadlines and expectations. Her boss enjoys shifting the due dates around at last minute. This continual cycle has caused her to develop unhealthy habits like skipping meals, sleep, and even time to herself. These small habits often betray the fact her stress levels have reached a terrible point. Trusting to a Flaw: Samantha knows deep down not everyone can be trusted, but she likes to think her friends and family can. She's correct with her instincts on her brothers and parents. Not always right when it comes to her friends. Some take advantage of this in obvious ways, and she turns a blind to their lies. Making excuses or explaining the painful truth away in her. It's only when someone she cares for points the obvious out that she will be forced to confront it. Difficulty in Saying No: To her family and friends, Samantha has trouble saying no. She fears they would think badly of her or that she was letting them down. So often she will simply say yes then cause conflict. Her brothers some times take advantage of this, but not to a dangerous degree. However, not everyone is considerate enough.
{Place of Origin}
Eerie Indiana, farm and rural area.
{Background}
Parents: Keith and Martha Haynes Siblings: John (30) and Aaron (28) Samantha Samantha grew up in Erie, Indiana, a small rural town. Despite the small businesses and large farmlands, the community was tightly knitted. Parents looked after each other's kids even when there wasn't a request. No matter where she went, someone always knew where she was. And nothing escaped the town gossipers. Interesting enough, fate saw it fitting to give her rough start in life. Her mother had given birth too early, and Samantha had developed a rip in her heart. With some luck and a good doctor, no serious issues developed later in life. It did influence her parents choice to never have biological kids again. The risk of a worse condition had been too great since the heart condition was genetic. It wasn't a tragedy as it made room for her older brothers, John and Aaron. They started off fostering John, an African American kid taken from an abusive family. Trust was hard to develop, especially between her father and him. However, with time and patience the family's efforts melted his cold walls. Even when the town frowned at the variety in their growing family. Next came Aaron, his parents died in a car wreck and no relatives wanted him. With John and Samantha's help, they formed a fast bond despite the age gap. It's not to say they didn't have their quarrels or sibling moments, but even now they keep tabs on each other. Samantha remembers her teenage years as being a roller coaster with its up and downs. Looking back on it, she regretted being such a brat to her parents. It was hard to be reasonable back then. First change came around when she turned thirteen. Her father had been seeking out better job and found one in Keystone City. Being a young teenager girl, Samantha didn't like uprooting her whole life for a trivial job. At first, she resisted its charms. Often bickering or fighting her parents' decision. She even lashed out at her brothers when they failed to agree with her behavior. It wasn't until John took her to her first proper museum, did her view point change. So many exhibits, so little time. She knew the place she wanted to work at now. Most people didn't think being an exhibit was fun or glamorous, but she disagreed. Things started to look better in Keystone. After high school, her application to Walkerman College gained approval. It had been her fifth choice for a college after the various denials to the more advance ones. Reasons and challenges came in every favor. Her low income, low loan approval, and even her only slightly above average grades. A scholarship even rejected her, so Samantha counted herself lucky to get in something at all. She would make the best of this start. The years flew by. Her parents had ended up divorcing shortly after she left home. Surprisingly, all the children respected their decision to separate though they hated it. Aaron went into joining the local police department and become an official officer. John fell in love with a woman at college, started up a company, and currently she's Aunt to two loving nieces. Samantha found herself a bit jealous since she rarely found the time or motivation to date. It wasn't long before the museum hired her on. It turned out she knew a tour guide there by the name of Matt Carver, a boy from her old school. Samantha learned he recently moved here before he suggested dinner. She had yet to give him an answer. The newest exhibit had taken up much of her time. The release date was a few days from now and the pressure was on. That included altering the pamphlets, printing them out, and delivering them. She had to admit, learning about the theme of occult and demons had enough to keep her busy for hours. It gave her an idea on how to display their newest runic stone for the public. Hexfire (demonic essence's history) Unknown to Samantha, the demonic essence is more of a symbiotic parasite. While living within a human, animal, or even another demon, it alters the genetic make-up to suit it. Samantha isn't the first, or will she be, the last host it will have. Each host's life leave impresses on it which can carry over to the next host. These memories take the form of nightmares and are slow to wake up. Some beneficial. Others just useless memories. All past hosts have had their own struggles. Whether these conflicts will affect her in the future remains to be seen.
