Tessa flinches if someone looks as if they are going to hit her. Tessa feels like she was at some point in an abusive relationship. She has several scars, that there was no way she could have done to herself. Her right shoulder doesn't move quite right and if she puts it behind her back it hurts. She can barely touch the tips of her fingers together (that over one shoulder and under with the other test). Tessa acts quickly, sometimes before she thinks the process through. Even though she flinches when a punch is thrown at her, she is surprisingly capable at defending herself.

[b][color=#ad4545]Biography[/color][/b] 
Tessa was a Safe Haven baby. Left at a fire station late in the evening on October third, 1998. Whoever gave birth to her never tried to retrieve her. She was fortunate though and adopted easily since she was an infant. 

When Tessa was aged 4-6 years she had a baby sitter who would take her swimming. It was on one of these swimming trips at the public pool that Tessa almost drowned. It was close enough call she was taken to the hospital. Other neglect may have happened with the baby sitter, but Tessa never talked about it. 

Tessa grew up in San Francisco. Running around the streets and playing with her neighbor. A girl born almost the same day. The two were inseparable for most of their lives until college. Tessa went to Cal Arts. Her friend went to Berkley for Math. 

School, while fun and exactly what Tessa wanted, wasn't easy. She struggled with some of the social necessities, and with projects that weren't in her wheelhouse. She got into a few arguments with professors and eventually dropped out. Tessa switched to a community college. There she met her boyfriend, Richard, the two dated until Tessa called the cops on him with a broken arm. She pressed charges and moved back in with her parents. 

Tessa was working on getting her life back together when they were in a car wreck. Both parents died and she couldn't keep the place in San Francisco. She moved in with her childhood friend and realized there was more to their relationship. Tessa had just started back at a new school and a new job. Things were looking positive. Now she's in space with no memory of any of this.
