Name: Mrs. Rachel Victoria Marshall-Stevens (Really: Miss Rachel Elizabeth Reynolds) Age: 28 (Really: 58) Species: Human Gender: Female Appearance: A tall dark haired beauty with a top hourglass figure kept in very good health and fitness. Her hair is auburn though tends on the darker side of auburn, sunlight bringing out the dark red tones. There are no blemishes on her skin. There are no scars on her skin. Her face is heartshaped and her brown eyes are bright things with flecks of green close to their iris. Her clothing tends towards the luxurious given her socio-economic status. However much a lie that socio-economic status is. In the past she was known to wear military uniforms with a style once described by a long dead friend as, "Super model grunge." It is hard to say what style she may prefer if she were free to make her own choices today. Equipment/Personal Belongings: Outside of her wardrobe very little truly belongs to Rachel now. Her home, her car, and her phone are both in her husband's name. She does own a Ruger SR9 pistol chambered in 9MM. Something she bought herself with cash she lied about. She honestly isn't sure if her husband knows about it or not. Her home is a large former working ranch turned luxury home in the hills of southern Missouri. Her car is a Porsche Cayenne. Her phone an Android S10. Somewhere in Fort Knox is a suit that used to belong to the woman Rachel has forgotten she ever was. Physical Abilities: Rachel is practiced in yoga, an experienced masseuse, and versed in basic self-defense for women. She is a pretty good photographer when the mood strikes, and is a long distance runner. Rachel has become an excellent cook over the years capable of producing meals in a wide variety of cuisines. In a life she cannot recall, she was an extremely skilled driver and well versed in hand-to-hand combat. Superpowers: Mrs. Rachel Stevens has no known superpowers that she knows about. In that other life she can't recall Rachel is one of the most powerful individuals on the planet. Her powers included: Molecular Manipulation. (Dormant and unknown even to the Sentry) Superhuman Speed on par with Kryptonians. (Dormant) Superhuman Speed on par with Kryptonians. (Dormant) Superhuman Reflexes on par with Kryptonians. (Dormant) Superhuman Senses on par with Kryptonians. (Dormant) Flight on par with Kryptonians. (Dormant) Photokinesis. (Dormant and unknown even to the Sentry) Energy blasts. (Dormant) Limited Resurrection. (Passive and unknown even to the Sentry.) Limitations: Fractured Mind - Rachel's mind has been broken, over and over and over again. Her memory is as fragmented as it is lost to her. She believes she is Mrs. Rachel Stevens, who grew up Rachel Marshall in St. Louis. The truth of Rachel is something else entirely: an obscenely powerful superpowered individual once codenamed Sentry. One of the planet's earliest heroes and deeply patriotic, deeply loyal. Truly the real Rachel has been lost to time, to the Void. Rachel's path to discovery will not be an easy one, and there will be no quick and easy answers. This severely limits her usefulness as any kind of hero. Motherhood - The thing Rachel has been best at in her life, she would tell you, is raising her son Jonathan. She would do anything for him, anything to protect him. This is an obvious and easily used way to manipulate and control Rachel. Her memories may be unknowingly false to her, but her love for Jonathan is as real as the sun in the sky. The government has not hesitated to use Jonathan before, long ago realizing he is the key to her control, not her husband. Even if Jonathan isn't really her son...she truly believes she is his mother. Pretty Cage - Many would look at Rachel's happy life of privilege with envy. Even if they knew that life was built on lies and manipulations carefully stacked upon the other. The government has fabricated everything, and every move she makes is closely watched and tightly scrutinized. The truth of all of this would be incredibly traumatic for Rachel. Worse yet the truth that she has never truly been free. The Void - An entity of mysterious origins. If Rachel was one of the earliest heroes, the Void was unquestionably one of the earliest villains. It took the Sentry's literal death, and resurrection, to stop the Void. After the incident all trust in the Sentry was lost by officials. Despite efforts to eliminate her due to that loss of trust, the best the government has been able to do is wipe her mind and control her unbeknownst to Rachel. And if Rachel doesn't know, they theorize, the Void can never return. The Sentry's file was deleted, every mention scrubbed. No one was left to remember the Sentry, not even she herself. Anyone who does somehow manage to learn of her existence would undoubtedly learn about the Void. Personality: To those that knew her, Rachel was kind and protective and funny and social. This is the same personality that manifests in Mrs. Rachel Stevens. Increasingly Mrs. Rachel Stevens has become confused, and dissatisfied. She has cheated on her husband with another woman in a desperate, half-baked, way of finding out who she really is. She is still playing her part and trying to hold onto her personality, but guilt and anxiety and confusion have begun to take their toll. Recently dreams have become indistinguishable from waking reality at times for Rachel. She believes she may be losing her mind. In truth she may just now be beginning to discover her mind. This internal conflict does as much damage to her personality as it does her psyche. As ever, however, Rachel presents herself as a confident and kind mother. She lacks the sarcasm and quick wit of the Sentry, that darker edge to her personality that Rachel Reynolds always had. It has slowly begun to return to Rachel Stevens. Place of Origin: Born in North California. Believes she was born in St. Louis. The Sentry came into her own at Area 51, far from potential witnesses. Background: The ace in the US government's sleeve. While many point at military, or economy, as the reasons for US dominance in global affairs of the 20th Century there is an underlying truth: the US had the Sentry, and the rest of the world simply did not. Born a Navy brat and raised with a strong sense of right and wrong, raised to never give up on anything easy. What remains of that background is nearly lost in the maelstrom of Rachel's mind. She was in Naval Boot Camp when her powers came to life for the first time. The incident was quickly contained and covered up, Rachel began a new kind of governmental training. There were superheroes, and she was one, even one of the strongest of all. The working relationship between the Sentry and the US was flawless for decades, until more than terrorists and foreign bad actors became the real problem. The day the Void appeared was a bloodbath in the jungles of Central America. There was nothing to cover up, there was simply none left alive that had personally witnessed enough to report in any detail. The Sentry abandoned her post, waging a war against the Void that quickly escalated to the stars above. When it was over all NASA recovered was her body off the face of the Moon. There was no sign of the Void, yet when the Sentry awoke she told the tale of an epic battle that spanned the universe on every level imaginable. Only when the Void promised to end her and take out every soul on Earth did the Sentry finally take the Void into the heart of the Sun. She didn't remember anything after, and was barely alive to tell the story. The government had no hard evidence of the Void. A multitude of psychological diagnosis was considered, while some within the US military especially held to trusting the Sentry, that the Void WAS something real, that she really HAD saved the planet from utter devastation. Without a true answer one way or the other, and with other heroes slowly emerging for governmental use, the US made a decision: they would finish the Sentry off and move on. Anything else invited too much potential threat. As powerful as the Sentry was, however, the task become to be seen as an impossibility with the current level of science and technology available. The more she died, the more her mind was succeptable to manipulation and outright pre-programming. The path of least resistance became the only real option, and so Rachel Reynolds was killed, not in body, but in mind and spirit. With a constant stream of ever-evolving poisons given to her by the man she now believed loved her more than any other, her "husband" Dan, and built into the very home she would spend the vast majority of her team, the government believes they had depowered her enough to keep the illusion going. There have been times where her powers were simply too strong and manifested, leaving some in the classified project to imprison her to theorize that none of their poisoning was ever working. Rachel didn't have powers because she had simply forgotten she had powers. Her reality followed that belief, though they have never slowed the poisoning methods. In fact they have managed one lasting damage to Rachel: she is now sterile. Since the explosion of dark matter across the world Rachel's mind has begun to unravel. Something has unlocked the gate to the maze of repressed, stolen, and "wiped" memories...but nothing has been wiped, and the memories come like the dreams: as if she were living them, not fuzzy and distant. This has caused Rachel great stress, as now when she looks in the mirror she no longer sees the woman she knows. She sees another woman. One that looks like her, but one that is not her. One that is not like her at all. (Notes: My goal here is to tell the story of Rachel living the past and the present in tandem, trying to figure out who she is and escape her pretty cage while struggling with two of her most prominent weaknesses: the fractured mind and the motherhood aspects to her. The Void will come later, if at all, and if I'm honest my idea right now is to treat the Void more like an eldritch horror than a super-villain to punch or fight or make D R A M A. Any questions or tweaks lemme know! Guild PM or Discord DM preferred.)
