I admit that there's not really anything immediately pressing for our characters to do, but I don't think regressing back the timeline is the best approach.

Of the options given, I would also choose either 3 or 4. 

What I could also do is have Akane show up with Security hot on her tail, since she makes a habit of picking fights with them. Just throwing that out there.
