Paul Nordlund is a fairly tall man somewhere in his late thirties. He is about 185cm tall with hazel eyes and brownish hair, his skin naturally a fairly tan colour turned much paler by years spent indoors and in hostile environment equipment of all sorts. Rather pedantically he keeps up his appearance in spite of his state of being only a few steps above "fugitive". Though muscular he doesn't have the stimm-bloated build of most Terran Marines or UED Smiths. 

He is a good speaker, letting him be a good leader, which in conjunction with his military education makes him a clear commander. The man is obviously a careerist, placing much of the world below his personal ambitions. That said, he's fairly adept at concealing this coldness and indeed comes across as a charming, generous man. The Lieutenant is also somewhat haughty towards Terrans, very much romanticizing Earth even if he no longer underestimates the folk of Koprulu as he did on first arrival. Coping with the loss of all that he left behind in the UED he has also taken to some awful habits even if he hasn't quite degenerated them into addictions.
