Get your bets in right now for the next roller! It's the wonders of a Glitter bar and casino folks. You don't get in there and get a job without being an interesting sort. Mason wouldn't be all that interesting to the Bounty hunters, and Cartelli would probably find little use for his skill set. A man who sees everything as a way to play a game. A man who enjoys a smile, and getting others to smile. And making the world just a little more vibrant with a quick dance and the exchange of money. What's this mean in the grand scheme of things? Well Mason is the number one dealer and one of many major attractions at the Golden Card Casino and Bar in one of the Glitter enclaves. He's the all singing, all dancing, fast talking dealer at a high stakes Black Jack table. When Mason is dealing you're in for as much of a show as you are a game. Between hands or players he's dancing and singing and catching the attention of the people in the area. The whip thin, yet well muscled young man with white and pink hair, shaggy and almost to his shoulders. It flares and flicks about as he dances and sings to the music piped in to his table. The Casino's Black vest with red velvet inner lining is worn open on his chest over a shirt of varying color, depends mostly on how he feels that day. It can be a marble grey or a vibrant neon yellow, all depends. And over all that a long pink short robe that stops at his hips, a fuzzy feather and fur neck ruff attached to the robe, white and pink. Usually a deep blue silk trousers on his legs and beautiful leather boots to round out his working ensemble. But then with the life style of the Glitters it goes on into his off hours too really. The man is walking billboard for the Glitters let me tell ya folks. Ah but to see the world like it was before. That just don't fly for Mason anymore. No more drab grey and brown and black. It's the life of a Glimmer Member he's all for. It's all the party, the music, the sex and the thirst for life! That's what it's all about. That's where it's at. You take life like a never ending party. And all the trials and tribulations and all the ups and downs become just new parts of the party. And when life is a game and a show, then your outlook is one of always chasing the next incredible moment. A fight or a new drink, or the next hit of a drug, all to keep things new and interesting. This pertains to alot of things when that's your life, food, drink, even sex you're always trying something new. As such Mason is always chasing the next new sensation, that next new high. Not that the ones he's tried before aren't stale or anything, but why stop at one? Hey check it out ya'll. Who wants that double? You want that double? That's right we got a hot hand here folks.
D A Y S - G O N E
We need to explore this abit. No not the naughty stuff, if you want that it’s 21.99 on Redtube. No no, Mason grew up in Grand LA, a Cartelli enclave, his parents, both still alive have worked for Cartelli from day one pretty much. Both of them working in the same building, his father a Claims and Stats collector, his mother a receptionist for one of the offices in the building. Both were very caring and loving parents to the young Mason. Cartelli provided education for all children of their employees, with the idea that after their schooling they’d probably end up working for the company. It probably would have worked out too if it hadn’t turned out that Mason didn’t exactly come out of it with a set of skills that Cartelli could really use. He had great math skills, and some bombing dance and drama class marks, but other then the math, it really wasn’t a set of skills Cartelli could use. So Mason was told to look further a field for work. And found it in Jonestown Ultima, a Glitter held Enclave about 30 minutes away from New Brazil. In fact his commute to and from the Golden Card tends to take him through New Brazil then over to Razen’s Claim Glitter Enclave where the Casino is located. His original course of action was just to find something that allowed him to survive. Work, any kind of work, to get some credits in his account and so he could pay for that apartment he found himself in. Small place, great vibes though. There were a number of Djs living in the building so he was treated to almost nightly practice sessions that shook the building. Ol’ Man Jerkins on the 5th floor hated it, but Mason loved it. The music and the life and the vibrancy resonated with him. He found the Golden Card mostly by accident. And would stop in every other night mostly, get a drink watch the Glimmer girls and guys working the floor. Some pretty boy and girl on the stage. A dealer trying to get someone else in on a game of poker, black jack, craps or what have you. It was all an even newer flavour that Mason really didn’t know existed. Slowly he became a regular. The bouncer a big handsome wolfman at the door would greet him as, “Mr. Rivers”, at the door. Some of the girls and a few of the boys would recognize him. The Glimmers began to rub off on him even. He started to dress a little wilder. His boss at the restaurant would chew him out for coming to work the next day in a plastic biohazard shirt or something along those lines. As time went on and he worked in a small restaurant he found that he was living a really boring life. Up to help open the place he’d got work at, serve tables, collect his tips and wait for the end of the week pay check. Again and again, this went on for about a year. Then it happened. And it happened quite suddenly. It all started so small. And even to this day Mason would tell you it happened by accident. What the hell am I talking about? Why Mason's fondest memory. The day that the Golden Card spotted him. To be honest he'd been living in the Enclave for most of his adult life. His parents had lived in a Cartelli enclave all their lives, even to that day. But Mason had moved out and went to find his own way. And that's how he made it into the Glimmer Enclave. It felt right somehow. He had started going to the Golden Card one night, after that crap job at a restaurant down the street. Mostly to blow off steam. And that night the music had been popping and a cute floor boss had given him a gift. A shot from a hypo-syringe. It felt like everything had opened up. And he was on the dance floor, just working it. Nails, hair, hips, heels. Head, shoulders, knees, toes, don't you dare touch these clothes! He ruled that dance floor. To the point when the songs were over and he was coming down off the high the Floor Boss walked up to him with the thick wad of cash that the other patrons had thrown at his feet, money he hadn't even noticed. The Night Manager invited him back the next night, and the night after that. Until a week later he was a part time entertainer and dancer. He didn't even need a shot of that yellow drug by the third day. Becoming a dealer after that was the cherry on the top. He could make it a show. Make it his brand. And the Casino started to rack in more cash because of the show he could put on. Because of this, Mason tends to be very open and approachable to people. He's quick to burst into dance or song. Even more so if he pops a little something before hand. He'll even offer a little something on the side if you're good. All depends on how the little vibrant young man feels at the time. Just don't push your luck. He doesn't look it but he'll put you down with flair. It was all another day, just another back to back stint in the casino, hell Mason was still slightly sweaty from the dancing he had been doing and sticky from...well something. Let's not get into it. Let's just say after his shift he and a hot little number, he still wasn't sure if it was a guy or girl really even now, had spent sometime in a dark corner of the casino getting dirty. Ah but that's not the story we want to hear. That's for...other entertainment. No no, the real freaky story, is that big bright ball of something or other that formed while he was walking home. Still high on what ever the floor boss had slipped him that day. He'd been skipping and dancing down the streets to his own internal mixtape when heat, sound, and fire. Everywhere. Just BOOM baby! He hadn't noticed any of the other people in the area when it happened. too engrossed in his own world. But he noticed when he came too. Some dying fella was saying something about Free Mountain and a Resistance plan. Mason was about to just brush it off, go back home, drink that bottle of Black Label he'd been gifted by an admirer. He was really going to do that, until the goon squads had showed up. Against his better judgment he'd linked up with the rest of the folks that were there. New Mountain it is.
M E M O R I E S
Alot of the things that Mason remembers are mostly the fun and games they get up too during shifts. Often encouraged by their boss who likes to see the shows his workers put on. Three way bump and grind? Fine...someone is going to want to watch it. One of the workers closing their table briefly to put a show up on the dance pole, maybe a two way, two guys or two girls. Hell, a guy and a girl working the pole even. Just as long as they keep the rough stuff to the back rooms after the show. Don’t want to get the dance runway slippery. One of Mason’s fondest memories is the training he went through. More experienced performers putting him through his paces finding what he’s good at, what he can afford to learn, and where his skill set is best. This was found to be dancing, singing and making people at ease and willing to play. In many ways actually. Relationships: Oliver and Melissa Shawna Rivers: Mason’s parents. Working in Grand LA Cartelli Enclave. Somewhat estranged at the moment after a visit to Jonestown and Razen’s Claim to find out what their son was doing and find him working as a Pleasure Boy, Dancer and Casino dealer. Melissa nearly fainted at the thought and Oliver had some very harsh words for his son, mostly to smarten up and make better use of his time. May not have helped Mason was high during their visit on something his Floor Boss had slipped him the night before. Floor Boss Travis Moorstown: Mason’s boss at the Golden Card. Tall, wide shouldered, powerfully built. And Mason isn’t shy to admit that Travis was Mason’s first ever “customer” once he started taking them. Travis runs his shifts relaxed and smooth. If you’re on you’re on, don’t give some kind of excuse why you aren’t on the floor doing your thing. Pit Boss Brayson Joks: The Pit Boss, or the Cage Manager. Runs all the money aspects on Mason’s shifts usually. Collects money and tips from performers and the tables, works out the house take and the tips going out to each performer. He’s known to crack heads, even the security and bouncers are afraid of this rail thin guy. He’ll strike like a lightning bolt and take your wallet afterward. Tina Laughey, Nixie Boughtom, Paula Atlas, Nathan “Nate” Olius and Patrick “Paddy” O’Connol: Mason’s usual shift mates. Tina and Nixie work the Pleasure Girl rooms, Paula is a Singer and Dealer like Mason. Nathan works the Joyboy rooms, and is known as Natural Nate, for some very incredible reasons. Paddy does a strip and pole routine and dances with Mason at times. They’re pretty much one big happy family, the six of them. Big Wolf Brick Vallis: One of the main augmented members of the Golden Card, modded himself out to look like the big bad wolf of story time legend. Big grey wolf fur down his back and over his ribs, long grey tail complete with ears, snout full of teeth. Works the doors as a bouncer.
P O W E R S
Power: Main Power = Gravity Manipulation Sub-power = Gravity Generation The applied manipulation of gravitic fields, in this case only compression states. Meaning he can only crush and squeeze rather then push or pull with the gravity. The power only applies to the generation of localized gravity fields, and once applied must be either offset by someone with the opposing gravity manipulation power, or allowed to run it’s course and dissipate on it’s own. This power also allows the user to create mini black holes, spin them up, have them do their business then spin them back out to limit collateral damage. Gravity Generation also allows the user to apply a up or down force in an area by switching the gravity field in an area. Thus allowing a person or even the user to either relax gravity to allow for say a higher or further jump or on the flip side cause gravity to ramp up, and pin a person or the user to a surface. Applications: Gravity Up: Ramping up the pull of gravity on a person, thing or area. Causing an increase in the feeling of weight and an increase in the effort it takes to move, and even stand. Can be held for a fairly long time, as it takes less effort for Mason to produce this effect. Can be used to flatten large areas of land, clear forests, flatten hills. But only on large and diffuse areas, usually around Mason’s location. Gravity Down: Decreasing the pull of gravity on a person, thing of area. This is the exact opposite of Gravity Up, where the gravity is decreased allowing for an ease of movement due to Gravity being lessened. Allows for those in the affected area or those being directly affected to jump, move, and lift things and themselves with greater ease. Like Gravity up the ability is general centers on Mason’s location. Crush: One of Mason’s targeted abilities. A chosen target is subjected to intense gravity. So much so that it pulled so hard against a surface that it will, unless pulled out of the field effect, be crushed flat. Mason really has to concentrate on this one as it’s harder to keep a sustained field in one place rather then in a large general area. Gravity Well: A powerful targeted ability, where a specific area on the field is chosen and the gravity of that area is ramped up to a point where it overrides the gravity of surrounding areas. In doing so it pulls everyone, friend of foe towards that location. Getting far enough away from it is the only means of negating it’s effects. Limitation: As opposed to other Gravitic abilities, the user is only able to generate one form of gravity this being crushing or compression gravity. Where as this may put a question on the Gravity up ability, it’s just reversed direction, instead of pulling down, Gravity Up is pulling or crushing upwards. Despite one might think, the user of Gravity Generation is not immune to their own abilities and applications of it. Mason can get hit by his own Gravity Well, and can be easily affected by Crush if within it's area of effect. And he’s in no way separate from it when he creates a Gravity Up or Gravity Down situation. Weaknesses: There is a very large chance that once applied, the user will be unable to reverse what ever application has been applied. And the user will be completely unable to control the effect of the application afterwards. Having to either let it play out and dissipate on it’s own, or find someone with the opposite effect to reverse it. In Mason’s case, this power requires him to stay still to use any of the applications. Which is completely anathema to his carefree always moving life style. This power also requires alot of his attention to produce many of the applications. Meaning he can either focus on using the power or focus on running away not both at the same time.
